This book instantly captures one’s attention as the author has done a marvellous job at constructing two different realms; Nos and Sol. The protagonist - Wen belongs to Nos (Moon) while her best friend/crush/fated partner - Kai belongs to Sol (Sun). At the much-awaited fated pair ceremony, Wen and Kai are chosen as partners and destined to rule the twin realms together but something terrible happens and they are destined to kill each other instead of spending their lives together. There are so many mysteries and unanswered questions but as the story unfolds, things come into the clear. The story is a bit slow and the plots aren’t well developed. At some points there are extra/unnecessary details but it has some amazing tropes like fated pairs, friends to lovers, and slow burn, that somewhat balances it out. I love the character and world-building. Overall a very intriguing read with a really pretty cover.

“Where Fate Whispers” is set in the gorgeous twin realms of Nos and Sol (Moon and Sun) where each realm holds its own unique type of people i.e., the moon people with fair skin, black hair and grey eyes, and the sun people with tan skin, golden hair and blue eyes.

Every 20 years, the Choosing takes place where the Fates select one person from each realm, the couple being fated for each other. The couple then proceeds to preside over the realm to bring balance between both Nos and Sol and protect it from the Fog, which holds Shadow wraiths that can wreak havoc.

However, during our MC, Wen’s, Choosing, things go south and she and her fated partner are revealed to be destined to fight to death in order to keep the realm safe from the Fog. Why are the Fates toying with her? What went wrong this time? Will Wen actually fight the love of her life if it means saving the twin realms?

✨🤍💜🖤🌙 Review 🌙🖤💜🤍✨

This book was so so refreshing! I was instantly captured by the unique Sun and Moon realm concept and gorgeous world building. The fusion of Celtic mythology was really intriguing.

Coming over to the actual story, it was very fast paced and beautifully worded. The characters’ struggles were depicted realistically, with pining, shy YA romance, and a touch of action. The writing style was easy to understand and it immediately drew me in.

I liked the side characters but I feel like I could’ve loved them if there had been flashbacks or deeper moments between the sides and the MC.

Finally, the way the author showed the differences between both the realms and their living ways was very nice, I just wished we could have gotten more of that beautiful culture.

I can’t wait till the next book releases because I want to learn more about the twin realms and what lies beyond the Fog!

Do give this book a read, I gobbled it up so quickly! ✨

From the first chapter this book drew me in - I know that sounds cliche but this time I’m telling the truth! In a ceremony that calls fated pairs to bridge the two realms of Nos and Sol, everything goes wrong for Wen. From a young age, she stole moments with her best friend Kai - a boy from the twin realm Sol who has all the characteristics of a golden boy but with a sarcastic smile and a way to get close enough to make our hearts race. But the ceremony goes wrong.

Tudor describes the turmoils of forbidden love perfectly. I devoured chapters at a time waiting for hidden moments between Wen and Kai. Not because I’m a sap - which I am - but because even though the two are trapped in a deadly fate, they still must work together to uncover why it is that their ceremony went so wrong.

The supporting characters are amazing! The Lord was a man I’d love to hug and Max probably deserved my hugs too. I wasn’t a fan of Eva, but that’s my personal opinion because I tend to avoid that character type in reality so I wanted to avoid her in the books. I really did adore Alys. Ugh, this book is just so rich with characters. I’m excited to continue the series to see what happens to Wen and Kai’s story, but also for all the arcs in place

I was a little confused about some details near the end and wished there was a longer moment between Wen and Kai - personal preference because like I said, I’m a sap. But the good news is that their story isn’t done so I will see them again!

Truly enjoyed diving into this world. It’s so unique from what i usually read for fantasy and I found that refreshing. The realms and gods and politics were different and the details came together perfectly, Tudor definitely has some magic at her fingertips because I loved this book!

A prologue sets up (very high!) stakes in this classic fantasy tale, and the remainder of the book introduces us to the players in a fated game of life and death, heroes and villains, families and friends. Tudor keeps us guessing about who the “bad guys” and “good guys” are, and I guarantee you’ll be surprised by at least one hero (which I’ll not spoil here), and you’ll guess wrong at least once!

I appreciated her well-researched world building, particularly the use of herbal remedies, and the role of the sun and moon in the lives of her characters. Her writing includes many beautiful turns of phrase (“… a thousand unspoken words spilled from the depths of his blue eyes. I wished I could reach out and cradle them in my palm, to pocket them to listen to later when the moon would be at its fullest and my doubts would be screaming their highest.“)

This is a book lovers of classic fairy tale-style fantasy will enjoy 😊

This book is absolutely phenomenal. I felt every emotion while reading, and that’s not always something that happens when I open a book.

The characters were so well done and i loved every single one do them. The Fated trope is one of my favorites, so I knew I would love this book before I even opened it, and I wasn’t disappointed at all.

Definitely going to be reading this one again in paperback.

'For all those who dance their way through life...and to those who catch them when they fall. This is for you.'
-E.G. Tudor - Where Fate Whispers

This first instalment in The Fated Partners Trilogy opens with a prologue that sets very high expectations and raises a just as high bar.

In the Twin Realms of Nos and Sol, Ceridwen Moonshade anxiously awaits the Fated Pair Choosing; she hopes to be partnered with her best friend, Malakai Ostara.
But things go to hell in a handbasket and the two friends soon realise the fates may have had other plans.
They were fated to stand side by side and become the next rulers of the Twin Realms, but instead, they must fight to the death for one to kill the other for the sake of the two realms.

From prose to wordbuilding, setting, characters and feelings, everything beautifully intertwines to have any reader hooked from the very first pages. And hooked one remains up to the very end.

The concept is refreshingly unique and the wordbuilding stunning, while the narrative is nicely flowing and a pleasure to read throughout the full book. I loved the way feelings are leaping from the page and the palpable inner turmoil of the characters which are both natural and feel real.
The pace seemed a tad too slow at times and a few details towards the end could have done with a bit more exposition but apart from that, this was wonderful tale any YA fantasy fan would love.

A tale of courage and determination, sacrifice and love. A tale of beauty full of feeling that marks the beginning of a delightful new series by an author to watch for.
A tale that will appeal to any dreamer out there, young or old.

"The whispers filled my mind, but this time they were a song, a melody that had been sung since the beginning of time. It was the song of us." - Where Fate Whispers by E. G. Tudor

Set in the Twin Realms of Nos and Sol, Ceridwen awaits the Fated Pair Choosing and deeply desired to be partnered with best friend/crush Malakai 🌙☀️

Their names are called out but celebrations are immediately ruined by the shadowy vision, a prophecy where one must kill the other for the sake of the Twin Realms 🗡️

Tudor paints a whimsical magical world full of frostberries, pear cidre and mothlings whilst also weaving in dark family secrets, the feeling of doom and hinting at a darker realm tucked away down below.

I really enjoyed this book. It had some of my favorite tropes like fated pairs, dagger to the throat ,boy obsessed, slowburn and forbidden romance. Eva and Wen's friendship was also adorable, I live for cute friendships in books!!! The angst between Wen and Kai was so good. I loved how the author kept bringing them close and then one of them would push the other away ,the tension and angst made me enjoy it more. However, the story was pretty mediocre for me because the revelations weren't all that surprising. They were obvious from the start but it was still a fun and enjoyable read with friends to lovers forbidden romance. <3

Also , yes there's going to be another book and it's going to be about Maxen and Eva !! I am rooting for these two. >.<

This book has some very popular tropes like friends to lovers, forbidden love, fated lovers, prophecies, slow burn and so on. The world was very interesting to read about; the twin realms and the youths in training tasked with maintaining the balance of the worlds. It was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to fans of YA Fantasy. Also the cover is so pretty >.<

Where Fate Whispers leans towards the ya/na side with a sweet romance, fated-pairs and love conquers all kind of feel.

Kai and Wen are best friends and in no surprise to anyone who knows them, they are chosen as teens, to become a future fated-pair of the Twin Realms- where they will be bonded and rule together. But during that same choosing ceremony, the Fates themselves speak and for the realms to survive Wen and Kai, instead of bonding must fight on their Fate’s Day with only one of them surviving for the Realms to be safe.

*

I am a die-hard enemy to lovers’ fan, so when I read the prologue, I was very excited for that bit of trope switching-up.

Where Fate Whispers wasn’t quite enemies to lovers but I still enjoyed how WFW was playing with the romance tropes by forcing them to become enemies from the best friends that are crazy in love with each other. The inevitable ‘breakup’ came before they’re even ‘together’ and my heart was hurting for them losing that friendship before I even got to see how deep it ran!

But I must say while this had some very neat ideas and should have been full of tension because of those same ideas- it wasn’t. Not that that is a bad thing- it depends on your expectations. This was just a very sweet story and would be suitable for even a younger teen audience.

Where Fate Whispers had a lot of great points:

I loved Wen and Eva’s friendship- I am always saying that there should be more women friendships in romance (or any genre really) and that was a huge plus for me. I also loved Wen and Kai (and that Kai was as sunny as the realm he was from). They were super sweet together. And really the characters were all pretty awesome in their own ways.

The story and plotting were a bit predictable and the resolution felt easy- at least for someone like me who’s read hundreds of romances over the years. I didn’t find too much to surprise me- other than Luna.
I loved the mothling sidekick! I mean really, who’d have thought the animal companion would be a giant moth? When was the last time you’ve read that? For me, I can safely say never! This was way more awesome than the usual wolf companion of the night-people trope.

Anyway, Where Fate Whispers has a lot to offer in the way of a sweet romance, some cool trope-twisting and some nice friendships.

6.5

Where Fate Whispers ~ E.G Tudor
Mini Review

Where do I begin? This story... my goodness it's lush, it's flushed out, it's emotionally charged. It's everything I needed.
Our MC Wen is a reluctant hero, put on a path that she does not want. I don't want to spoil too much but she is fated to her best friend Kai, and things goes horribly wrong pretty much right away.
I related to Wen so much, she struggled with her fate. She felt alone and surrounded. She is in love but cannot do anything about it.
Every time Kai turned around I wanted to smack his face is the best way possible!
The twists and turns in this story had me guessing and turning to the last page.
The only things I wish for was a little more description on the Fates themselves and possibly a pronunciation guide - for example Nos - in my head I kept going back and forth between nos the stuff that makes your car go fast and nose like what's on my face.
But E.G Tudor has me hooked, I was in tears at the end of this book, I cannot wait for the next installment

Also Lunara. We better see more of her. 🦋

Told in a lush, vivid, poetic and utterly exquisite writing style, Where Fate Whispers takes place in the Twin Realms of Nos and Sol, where our protagonist; Ceridwen looks forward to the awaited the Fated Pair ceremony where the and silently yearns to be paired up with her childhood best friend/crush; the charming golden boy Malakai with his sarcastic smirk and witty sense of humour. Yet all the excitement and festiveness goes out of the window the instant a dark vision is unraveled, a prophecy according to which one must kill the other for in order to ensure the safety and stability of the Twin Realms. A line is drawn up between both youths aiming to keep them apart yet failing as their hearts continue to creep closer than ever before.✨🌓

Saturated with enthralling, whimsical and lunar and solar magical vibes, this YA high fantasy/ romantasy is an impressive blend of strong imagination and astounding wordsmithery. Tudor masterfully conjures up a compelling tale, with the amazing world-building and cast of well-crafted characters, an engaging plotline, entertaining banter and witty dialogue, the spice of forbidden love + moments of intimacy in secret + the slow burn, the beloved fated mates trope, mothlings and frostberries, dark family secrets, a quest to unravel the truth woven together with the strands of star-flecked dark and gold-kissed light. This book is a guaranteed dose of serotonin and will certainly appeal to lovers of YA fantasy.🌿✨ A must read!💛

What an amazing story!! I immediately fell in love with the land of Nos and it’s cool night skies and other worldly vibe (in this heat wave it was especially refreshing!)

I love fantasy that creates lands with unique cultures and belief systems, but sometimes they can be so complex you have to read a page 10 times to figure out what the hell is going on. Tudor, however, weaved in the details of the Fates so naturally it was easy to understand and didn’t distract from the story at all.

I was immediately invested in Wen and her troubled future as she navigated her emotions and tried to work out who to trust. I loved the depth of the other characters and look forward to learning more about them as the series continues.

This is a younger YA, so a great cross over for those looking at getting into longer/more grown up narratives without the sex scenes or violence of some other YA fantasy.

Can’t wait for book 2!

Overall Enchanting

"Where Fate Whispers" was an enthralling read that took the "soulmates" and "fated pair" tropes on a twist that I haven't really seen before.

The main characters, Wen and Kai, were well-developed, and I rooted for both throughout the story. SPOILER ALERT: When they finally kissed, the author's description of it was absolutely swoon-worthy and satisfying.

Most of the other characters didn't feel as well-developed. Many of them just felt like names and that they were there to move the plot along. The book was also drawn out, explaining the goings on many times and having similar things happen repeatedly.

The prose was good, and the book was enchanting overall. However, due to the slow plot and underdeveloped characters, I am giving this a 3.5/5 stars. So, it's still a good read, but it could be better. I am rounding up to 4 to post this review on various platforms.

Kai and Wen were supposed to be a fated pair. But instead a dark prophecy is unleashed, now they are fated to kill each other. Heartbroken and desperate, they are trying to find a loophole to this prophecy. Because how could they possibly kill their other half?

There is much more behind the prophecy than everyone realises. So many secret plots and betrayal in their midst, wich makes it difficult to see what is real and what is not. Who can they actually trust?

This story was impossible to put down, with so much heartbreak and devastating plot twists, this book definitely had me in a chokehold from beginning to end.

Completely fell in love with these characters and their story! Conflicted Wen, loyal and steadfast Kai, tragic Eva and wonderful Lunara - they were all amazing. The atmospheric world-building, lyrical writing and many twists and turns kept me guessing right up to the satisfying ending. Looking forward to diving into book 2!

Thoroughly recommend for all fans of YA Fantasy and Romance.

Congratulations to the author for being shortlisted for the Chimera Fantasy Awards

Pros:
- world-building is good, though I hope the third realm will be expanded on in future instalments
- idea of conflict is good, though I was never convinced as to WHY the characters were so convinced by it, and as such, I was never worried about the outcome
- good size of cast of characters
- Lunara is super cute
- SPAG are clean

Cons:
- main character was somewhat irritating. She is frustratingly slow on the uptake about a lot of things and seems incapable of speaking up for herself over even the most basic things.
- some characters are one-dimensional. Gus and Maxen in particular were exceedingly boring.
- lack of communication is rife, and makes the book twice as long as it needs to be.
- answers come too easily. Things are overheard, or just revealed by other characters with no effort
- final reveal at the end is similarly blunt. Characters suddenly start spewing their entire life story and motives with no reason to.
- things which are presented as "twists" or surprises are not.

Overall 3*. Good concept, but lacking in the execution. I pushed through to finish, but it was a struggle from about 70% onwards, and nothing happened that the end which was not expected. Read time: 6 days

This had so much potential, but it fell flat. I love the overall idea, where fated pairs are suddenly fated to kill each other instead. I was so excited to see them sneaking around and wanted to see them fight fate. Instead, Wen was immature and weak-willed. She was easily manipulated and cowardly. Kai deserved better. The conspiracy and plot twists were so obvious that there was no suspense or intrigue. There is a difference between foreshadowing and predictability and this book definitely gets the balance wrong. It made everyone look stupid that they didn't figure it out immediately. Then the ending came and it was way too easy. It even finished with the villains monologuing about their dastardly plan. It was like an episode of scooby doo.

Ceridwen and Kai are star-crossed lovers at 15 and in three years they are fated to be joined. However, the fates have other plans in order to preserve the dual kingdoms of Sol and Nos.

Wen’s growing feelings for Kai must be put aside and do what is expected of her for the future of both realms. Will she come to realize that fate isn’t always written in stone before it’s too late? This is a lot for a 15 year old to process. Wen is now 18 and the time has come to choose. Talk about star-crossed lovers…WOW!

What I enjoyed most about Where Fate Whispers was the characters and character development. It all fit together, the good and the bad like a puzzle. The line was drawn and I was on edge with Wen as she first ignored her fate and then started to question and dig into the past. There is an evil in Nos and secrets long buried. What evil lurks orchestrating the lives of these two lovers and the fate of two kingdoms?

Tudor has written a love story filled with everything good and evil. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Parental Note
Where Fate Whispers is a well written story of choices

A Fated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
