Reiki Bible by Eleanor McKenzie is informative and useful for new Reiki practitioners. I have been a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher since 2009, and most of the content in McKenzie's book was familiar to me. I did find that she had some helpful ways of explaining key pieces such as the Five Priciples. McKenzie's descriptions of the hand positions for treating others is slightly different from what I learned, but I think a Reiki novice would find Reiki Bible very helpful in understanding this gentle healing practice.

An extensive guide to reiki. This book has everything you need to know about reiki, except for the symbols of course, but those studying reiki will understand why. A really informative book packed full of information for beginners, as well as stories and thy e origin of reiki. If you're new to reiki this is definitely worth a read.

This is a great and simple to read manual, as an attuned Reiki Master I refer my students to this often.

I signed up for a Reiki Level 1 course and felt it may be good to go in with a bit more context of what Reiki is. This book delivered and more. I read it cover to cover. I like how the author weaves with Chi Kung to augment the practice and how it touches on everything from the various histories of Reiki to hand positions to complementary therapies to how to apply in with kids or certain ailments. She did not share the Reiki symbols visually to respect their sacredness yet still covers their relevance. Really good read and also reference material if you want hand positions for e.g. headaches or acne or cuts or fears
