rounded up because I did really enjoy it, but I don’t see how this is advertised as a dramione fic because half the time it was Theo’s pov & the ending was all about pansy.. no dramione in sight 👀
and also this fic was a literal tome, I’m a fast reader but this took me dayyyys
Ok so this fanfic is around* 800 pages and I made it 69% The writing is top notch. The story telling is fabulous.
It’s a great read but it’s very long and detailed. I feel like I’ve inhaled pretty much the best parts of the whole dramione ship & that’s really what I’m here for. Now that that’s over I’m bored and I have way too many books on my tbr to finish things that bore me. I don’t care about pansy and her boy. Same with Theo and his little (big) infatuation with Astoria. I don’t like side characters chapters becoming a thing. I’m here for DRAMIONE ONLY.
“They say revenge is sweet… and I intend to devour it.” — Pansy Parkinson
Holy hell, what a ride! I’ve read published books that don’t hold a candle to the writing in Hogwarts: A Home. The plot, the tension, the character arcs… I was screaming at my Kindle more than once.
Let’s start with the stars of the show, because spoiler alert: it’s not Draco and Hermione! It’s PANSY (my queen!) and THEO.
Pansy’s arc was brutal and powerful and just… so good. The revenge scenes? Savage and poetic. I was living for it. Theo really stood out too. I actually think he and Hermione had way more of a connection, and I would’ve loved to see that happen first—it just felt like a more natural fit.
On the Dramione side: their feelings were mostly communicated through their inner monologue, so the outward-facing interactions felt rushed when they finally got together. Draco came across as very possessive, and for me, it just didn’t quite land. Compared to Pansy and Theo, whose love stories felt organic and real, Dramione in this felt a little forced.
Special shoutout to Chapter 48 (“The Ministry of Magic”)—what a masterpiece. The way the three storylines built toward that one massive moment had me so stressed I was basically vibrating. One of the most well-written, high-stakes chapters I’ve read in a long time.
If you’re hunting for something to fill that Manacled or Secrets and Masks hole, this is a close one. Not quite on that level, but still so good. One of the best canon fics I’ve read: fast-paced, full of twists, and nothing like watching the movies on repeat. This one actually surprised me, and I loved that.
Truly the only storyline in this book that I felt was strong and had grit to it was Pansy's. So many of Draco's problems were self inflicted. SO. MANY. THINGS happened that I know in my heart of hearts Hermione wouldn't have tolerated or at the very least called out. You mean to tell me Draco IMMEDIATELY begins talking about jumping her bones right after she wakes up from almost dying??? The way the smut was written, I was convinced this was written by a man. Extremely corny descriptions and overly crude smut scenes that just made me instantly disconnect.
I truly wanted to like this and stick around for Pansy & Theo, as he grew on me, but when I looked and saw I was only 48% in and was already exhausted from this sluggish plot, I decided to move on. Be aware that the author absolutely means it with their entire chest when they warn that this is a slow burn. The entire thing was a slow burn, not just the Dramione romance. And this book is ~800 pages.
All of that said, I can see the appeal for other readers. This was just not my vibe. I think some may enjoy the smut more than I did, I just need some depth and thought in those scenes rather than mindless smut for the sake of having it.

So this fanfic in longer than House of Sky and Breath (HOSAB). Ive reached the point where I’ve read 65% of this and that’s longer than HOSAB. I might come back to it but right now it’s too long and I want to read a physical book. I’ve read so much of it I’m counting it as a book😂.
It was like a fast paced slow burn if that makes any sense. It was ungodly slow and then everything kinda happened all at once. It was like 3 1/2 stars for me so I rounded up.
I love how the author did Draco, Theo, and Pansy’s characters in it. I’d like to see how it ends but I don’t think I can take much more of reading on my phone.
DNF maybe at 80%? Found it dragging. The premise caught my attention, but the truth is that the story itself is not interesting. There are many POV's and it gets to a point where it's more of the same (especially in the smut scenes).
Basically, Hermione is an important piece in the search for the Horcrux because *she is the only intelligent person in the whole wizarding world* She wants to go to battles, she wants to research, she wants to be everywhere at all times.
The progress of the romance between Draco and Hermione takes too long because she doesn't trust him, but at the same time she becomes friends with Theo and Pansy in a short time, it doesn't make sense.
- Pansy and Theo were *chefs kiss* - Fav microtrope: When Draco is so into Hermione that he covers it up by being an ass, and then Hermione thinks he could never love her. MISCOMMUNICATION IS ONLY OKAY FOR DRAMIONE. - Tori always has a blood curse now? Canon. - I love bamf Hermione here.
NEED. MORE. EPILOGUES. NOW. PLEASE.

Wasn’t my favorite fic, but still a good one! Loved Theo’s character arc in this. Ending felt a little rushed, but the story gave me a healthy dose of escapism so I’m satisfied. 3.5 stars- just not quite a 4 for me.
I absolutely loved this book. I devoured it in 3 days. I love BAMF Pansy Parkinson and nothing will compare. Hermione's characterisation was a bit annoying, but the rest of it was incredible. I need more by Coral as she has one hell of a gift - especially when writing about Pansy!!
4.75 stars I LOVED dragon Draco, all of the characters and relationships were so well fleshed out. Hermione and Draco in this one were incredible. I adored the multi character POVS, three romances was genius and really added something to the story. I’m seriously obsessed with dragon Draco and this fic is definitely a new favorite of mine. I also liked the Harry, Ron, Neville, Luna and Ginny weren’t randomly killed off, they definitely added a nostalgic element to the story. Pansy’s romance and characterization in general was SO well done and I loved Theo in this as well.

New favorite for sure… that was really good. Wow. I adored Pansy’s arc. She stole the show for sure. Also loved Theo (obviously)! And the Dramione was good as well but just… I love me some side characters that become main characters.
Honestly I loved this fic so much, the way the characters were written was amazing and Pansy in this book was top tier. Removed a star because it is SO long 🫠
