English title: Break up
I really enjoyed this book! I loved that it delved deeply into the characters' motivations and used specific scenes from the past to shed light on where feelings and insecurities came from or how they developed the way they developed. I also like that though it's told from Tang Yi, the shou's, perspective and he is the wronged party, he also does a lot of reflection on what he did wrong and there was a lot of growth for him as well. Usually I prefer a lot of groveling when the gong fucks up and in this case, there isn't but I kind of didn't mind for a few reasons. The main fuck up wasn't THAT bad (or I guess I've just read worse lol), , and that Gu Yanting also grew a lot in the two years that they were apart. It's true that there wasn't much plot but I think the realistic portrayal of their relationship, the power dynamics within it and the feelings they had made up for it. I would re-read it for sure!
Summary: Gu Yanting has always had a white moonlight in his heart and when the white moonlight goes to Australia, his friend Tang Yi asks him to give a relationship a shot with him and Gu Yangting says yes. The story starts after they've been in a relationship for two years and the white moonlight is back. The relationship has had ups and downs and Tang Yi decides that he's had enough and he breaks up with Gu Yanting. At first Gu Yanting doesn't take the break up seriously and thinks that after things cool off they'll make up but after Gu Yanting fucks up again, Tang Yi basically tells him he never wants to cross paths with him again.

I mostly liked Tang Yi's (MC) personality and how he knew exactly what he wanted and went for it. He was also the one to initiate the break up with Gu Yanting (ML) after having had enough of GYT's emotional affair with Lin Rui. It was a satisfying break up and it was precisely this break up that woke GYT up and pushed him to grow and change for the better. It took the both of them a while but they eventually found their way back to each other. And it's not like TY stayed single after the break up - in fact it was nice to read about him being pampered and taken care of Zhou Hao. I think this was an alright second chance romance novel overall with mature characters.

Rating: 2.5/5- This story wasn’t dramatic enough for me.
I read to escape reality and not be reminded of the morose lives we live. Therefore this story with all the business talk and lack of drama fell pretty short of my expectations.
It’s very well written and a mature romance, but it lacks heart. The characters feel 2D and you don’t necessarily feel attached to them. I honestly skimmed the story once they officially broke up.
The second ML was so dull and boring. The story in its entirety is relatively boring.

not bad but felt like the shou could have made the gong work harder for his second chance lmao (esp after reading obsessive shou moves on) 10/10 for the white moonlight face slapping at the end
