They think they know me, but none of them do. Not really. On Olympus, Apollo is the master of the healing arts and has always been aloof and untouched by the trials and angst of his fellow Olympians. But has he really removed himself from these yearnings? As Olympus fills with the laughter and love of children, The Lord of Wolves’ heart and mind turn back to a time when he did know love—and how he abandoned it to save the life of a mortal. Even the God of Prophecy cannot outrun his destiny. Max Crane is running away from a lot of things, but his memories keep catching up to him. Vegas seems like the best place to start over and forget about the one man who ruined relationships for him forever. Coming face to face with the man who broke his heart is one thing—but discovering the truth about who he is, why he left, and what he could offer is an entirely different story. I only recently read the first books of this series. I was so excited to see that this series was soon to be continued. Apollo and Max were a great addition to this storyline. I enjoyed their story. Like most of the stories in this series this was short. I was curious to see where the storyline would go after Herra was defeated in the last books. This certainly left things wide open for them to take the story anywhere in the future Olympian books. Is Herra really defeated, is there a new nemesis to these immortals? We really don't know. This book had great plot and chemistry. Can't wait to see where the author goes next with these books. Highly recommended to check this out but read the other Olympians beginning with Zeus to better understand the story. The only thing these stories really could use to help them out is more on the mpreg line. You learn these guys are pregnant, but their pregnancies, and deliveries really aren't covered. However, despite this missing, this is still an excellent series to check out.
I see you! Apollo, considered Vegas and his club, Prophecy his safe place. He tried to stop thinking of Max, thinking he didn't deserve a relationship. Max, transferred to Vegas, running away from a broken heart. He missed the man who abandoned him, Hunter. Hunter, lived rent free in his head and his heart. When they saw each other in Prophecy, neither knew who the other was and the sparks as well as bullets flew. Appollo appreciates that Max, sees the man within. Will the guys talk? Will Hunter/Apollo reveal his reality? Can Max handle a hidden world? Good story. Good new mystery, fun characters. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I haven't read all the books in this series, and I don't know if that would have made a difference, but this one just lacked something. I liked the plot idea, but not so much the execution. Although I liked Max and Apollo as a couple, I thought Max's understanding of this new world that was sprung on him and his forgiveness of Apollo came too quickly and easily. It wasn't quite satisfying; I guess I wanted Apollo to have to work harder for his 'redemption.' It was still worth the read.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
I really love this world, and I'm glad that we get to see more of it, because I think it is really interesting.
I like Apollo, and I totally get where he's coming from because change is scary and love is scary. But, it's also inevitable. Second chances are a real thing, and Apollo is just about to find out.
Max has history with Apollo, even if that's not the name he knew him by. So, when Max and Apollo meet up again, they are both shocked.
There is a lot of tension, sexual and other, going on here, and it was just so delicious. I can't wait for the next book.
I have not read the other books in the series, but I got the gist of the plot from this book. Though it felt somewhat short when it's about a new couple that reconnect after five years. And introducing this new partner to a whole new world, it was very much glossed over how Max reacted or fit in. There needed to be more groveling I felt. It was a sweet story, but being so short kind of ruined the enjoyment of it.
Eh... slightly disappointed in how quick the story felt. Hunter walked out on Max five years before, in his need to try to forget him, Max moved to Vegas to start over... little realising that he was walking into Hunters(Apollos) playground. Apollo took Max to dinner and a show and then all was forgiven.
I felt if the story had been slightly longer Apollo could have grovelled properly.
This is the story of Apollo (Hunter) and Max. It is the 7th book in the New Olympians series. I would suggest that you read them in order. I loved learning more about the world this author created. Personally I would have loved it if it was longer. Recommended.
I received this book as an Arc and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Two very different people will need each other but who are not ready to give it a chance. They have been damaged by life and they will need to come to terms with it all before they can make a new start with the other. Can life become better for them? Will love overtake them? Will it help? See where they are taken with these two
An interesting take on the second chance romance in this world. Apollo and Max reconnect when Max moves to Vegas and he finally gets an explanation of why Apollo did what he did in their past relationship. Max decides to give him a second chance and a more honest relationship develops the second time around.
I wasn’t aware there wasn’t a few books in front of this one. I will definitely go back and read those. I felt like I was missing something right from the beginning. I did get the plot shortly in. It felt too short. Overall. I did enjoy the story, it was sweet.
This is a cute addition to this series. It was nice to see more stories in this world. Apollo and Max's story is sweet. I do wish it was longer but a cute and sweet story. Can't wait for the next one.
This is one of my favorite series involving the Greek Mythology. I have been fascinated by the world the author created from the start. We have found out some interesting things in Hunter and Max’s story and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
would recommend that you read the book in the series in order. to have a full understand what happening with the gods. they don't always click but you can see the characters working . looking for who up next
This was cute. The writing style was a little hard for me yo get into. It also felt kind of short? Like the main conflict was reserved in a matter of like two pages. Definitely a cute story though
I was frankly very disappointed with this book. When I first saw that the ARC was on the table, after years of waiting for the next book, I jumped at the chance to request it. I have read every book in the series and I was so excited.
Now, I now that years will change a reader's taste. And maybe reading this then would have worked for me, but reading it now did not.
The premise of this book was VERY intriguing.
Second chance romance, 5 year separation, secrets and lies of omission...
However the execution of the book was...less than desirable. I'm sorry to say that the plot of this book was: blink and you miss it. The introduction for the plot and the characters took too much page time over the reunion and romance.
The forgiveness was too quick and abrupt, as was the acceptance of all the secrets and the Mpreg angle. For a novella, there was very little balance between the plot points. It was too short tbh.
