Do you ever feel stuck, unsure, have major changes in your life you are dealing with, and/or like you are stuck in transition? Then this new book, Your New Now – Finding Strength and Wisdom When You Feel Stuck Where You Are by Nicki Koziarz, is a helpful book to read through. She provides a great explanation of four different seasons we go through, examples, and questions to consider through reading about Moses and his life.
I found this book helpful in dealing with a season I am going through and understanding different seasons of life I have dealt with in the past. Sometimes, these seasons are short, but other times, they can be years to fully transition through. As she states also; “Sometimes transition is ugly and sometimes it’s beautiful. but the fortunate thing is that even what starts ugly has the opportunity to end in beauty. Beauty for ashes. Joy for morning. Praise for heaviness.”
This is one of those books that you should take your time going through, as there is so much you can learn from life seasons and help you grow in your faith. It definitely would make a great book to read and go through with others. Something I enjoy doing, as you get so much more out of the book when you are discussing and sharing with others. She also offers some extra free worksheets on her website.
I have made many highlights throughout the book. Here are a few that I will share:
Fearing God more than we fear man means at the end of the day, we’re more concerned with how our Heavenly Father sees us than any earthy reflection can offer us.
Acknowledge that this is a weird place of life, yes. But decide that you are going to grow, gain wisdom, and find the truth of what God needs you to see in this place.
We either dwell in roots of destruction of choose to separate so that we grow into who God wants us to be.
If we would just look a little closer at the ordinary, we might see God doing something miraculous we can’t explain.
Intentions, if not followed through, can simply become an excuse.
But we do not have to wait for a sign or wonder to believe that the name of God is enough.
Part of cultivation with God is being willing to seek out answers to why we don’t understand things. But there also has to be a “because God did it or said it” resolve.
Part of building a life on biblical Truth means that your values come from the Bible, not from what feels or sounds good based on the culture around us.
