Bestselling author and pastor Samuel Rodriguez reminds us that our God is still God--even in the midst of our mess--and while his process is temporary, his promise is permanent. Here is the practical, hope-infused roadmap for anyone with the audacity to replace fear with faith and walk through their mess and into God's miracle.
I knew little about Pastor Sam before I read this book. I am glad now that I know a little bit more about him and his passion for the gospel, Jesus Christ and the church. While looking online for more information I ran across a podcast he did recently, and it made me think of this book. He is very excitable, demonstrative with his hands, talks really fast and has an endless supply of Bible verses at his fingertips as he makes his various points. This book reads like that as well. Lots of scriptures, many theological and logical points to think about as he draws several illustrations from this one story in the gospel, the healing of the man blind from birth (John 9). It was amazing how many applications he got from this one passage of Scripture without reaching too far for them. I think the most powerful parts of his book is when he starts listing thoughts back-to-back to make his point. For example, in chapter 2 he starts his wave of thoughts: "You are about to see..." and concludes that statement differently seven times to get you fired up and motivated. Each chapter ends with a series of questions to make you think and try to apply what you just learned. There is no doubt I want to pay attention to this pastor in the days ahead.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An amazing read and one I am honestly sad is over. It’s one of those books where I got so much out of it it also missed so much that I could reread this over and over and over again and still get something new out of it depending on where I’m at in life and on my faith journey. Sam is an incredible speaker and apparently writer too and I would love to read more of his stuff!! Absolutely loved it 🩷🩷
One of the best devotions I’ve worked through at the perfect time! God knows what we need. So thankful for Pastor Sam’s wisdom and motivation to believe in Gods miracles even when it looks hopelessly messy.
