May Moore #6

Never Again

Rate this book
May Moore, 29, an average Midwestern woman and deputy sheriff, has always lived in the shadow of her older, brilliant FBI agent sister. Yet the sisters are united by the cold case of their missing younger sister—and when a new serial killer strikes in May’s quiet, Minnesota lakeside town, it is May’s turn to prove herself, to try to outshine her sister and the FBI, and, in this action-packed thriller, to outwit and hunt down a diabolical killer before he strikes again.

After a local manhunt for a missing woman, a pack of cadaver dogs lead police to the source.

But when the dogs unearth body after body, May soon realizes she has stumbled upon a burial mound—and is up against a serial killer for more deadly than anyone could have imagined.

With time running out, can May find him—before he finds her first?

A page-turning and harrowing crime thriller featuring a brilliant and tortured Deputy Sheriff, the MAY MOORE series is a riveting mystery, packed with non-stop action, suspense, jaw-dropping twists, and driven by a breakneck pace that will keep you flipping pages late into the night.

I think Never Again is the best book in the series so far. May is hunting a serial killer who has made the county their killing and burial grounds for over ten years. There are many actions, May is sharper than ever, and despite the drama with Kerry, she does a magnificent job with her partner, Owen. She also finds another lead on her sister's case. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another step closer to her sister’s murderer! I really need Blake to give us a book focused 100% on May working on solving her sister’s murder, because while I enjoy these books, I’m fully invested in the little endings we get that give us another piece of her working on it and I’m hooked! In this installment, we see May work together with her sister to solve a case. The dynamic between May and her older sister is interesting – it seems like she wants to and does help her but also puts her in situations where she is the superior one between them. We also see cracks in May’s sister’s life involving her engagement, and it shows that she isn’t the perfect child that she’s portrayed to be. I need more of Lauren’s case though – it’s the best part of the book for me and I really want and need that case solved and not drawn out!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This book was terribly written and that got in the way of me enjoying an interesting-enough plot. “She could feel her feet thundering on the pavement” was a phrase used twice in only two pages. In another two-page stretch, the author used the word “literally” four times, and none of the things were actually literal. When the main character and her partner caught a fleeing suspect, they interrogated him in his own home rather than the police station. Every time there was a suspect, May was convinced she had solved the crime. You’d think she would have learned some humility by the third wrong suspect. These are just a few of the things that ruined it for me. When I bought it I didn’t know it was a part of a series, but I have no desire to read the others.

so good

This is the 6th book in the series, each one as good as the last. Read on, hoping there are more.

Good one

I love the way this series is new but also carries on an actual life drama also. Captivating and interesting way of writing. On to the next one! .

Police procedures/legalities were so wrong. Dialogue was about the worst I’ve ever heard as I listened to this book. Narrator’s voice was also not for me. Not for me.

While searching for a missing girl, May & her partner, Owen, discover a field full of bodies & realize this serial killer has been busy for over a decade. The FBI & May's sister, Kerry, are called in to help solve this case. May & Owen find that flower names link all these women. They also find another field with more bodies. Really enjoyed this book. Can't wait for Book 7 to hopefully find out more about May's investigation into her missing sister's abduction. Love this series!
