This book was definitely cute. It had an effervescent quality, and there was plenty of humor, hijinks, and love. The witch aspect was well done—it had a very light, goofy feel to it rather than feeling dark or ominous. There were some scenes that were a touch too silly for my taste, but the book fulfilled its promise of a sweet romance.
However, the book dragged quite a bit. There were a lot of slow parts, and it took Shelly an unreasonable amount of time to come to her senses. I liked Ben, but I was disappointed with how afraid he was to discuss his feelings. He seemed to want Shelly, but was also fine if they didn't end up together. I prefer a hero who fights more for his woman. The ending of the story was also somewhat lackluster, though moderately satisfying.
Overall, this was a very sweet, cute romance, but it lacked a well-paced plot. I'd recommend it to younger readers or those who enjoy a lot of silliness in their books.
