Hunter

Rate this book
Jim is gone, only Hunter remains. Hunter wasn’t born, he was made. Vampires created him and they must pay.

It has been years since Jonah had to save his younger brother form the clutches of a newborn vampire. Now he must find his brother again. But Jim is no longer a child, and he does not want to be found.

Vampires are being killed, and Eldon knows who is doing the killing. If the vampire counsel were to find out that Patrick was the catalyst for these killings, it wouldn’t be Patrick who paid, but Eldon.

Can Jonah save his brother a second? Will Eldon be able to stop the killings? Can Hunter be stopped?

This series is nicely written and has good character development.

While these stories can easily be read within the hour, I have been enjoying slowly reading them right before bed. Can't believe I'm almost done with the series!

I have been a big fan of this series since the beginning. It's been a long time since I read a vampire story because honestly they have gone off the rails for me since the days of Anne Rice. I wanted to experience vampires as they were meant to be... scary. This series does exactly that, revitalizing the genre and making them what makes me love them. But it's more than that, it's a story about two brothers impacted by an event in their youth (check out Newborn from this series - start from the beginning!). And now we have Jim, known as Hunter, who is making things very uncomfortable for the vampires as he hunts them one by one. He's left behind the world he once knew to bring vengeance to them. The story is driven by the characters created by Richard. You not only feel attached to Jim and Jonah (the brothers) but you're haunted and drawn in by the vampires Eldon and Patrick. It's an easy read, it's fun, the last few chapters of Hunter had me holding my breath with an incredible climax. I can't wait to read more and thank you sincerely for bringing this genre back to it's roots. I love Richard's style and energy and characters. Well worth the read!
