Behind closed doors at The Scarlet Hotel, anything can happen... even true love.
Omega Charlie never intended to become someone’s dirty little secret, and he certainly never intended to get pregnant. Seems like nothing is going according to plan these days. Facing an uncertain future as a single father is a terrifying prospect, but he refuses to get involved with a new man—he doesn’t want to take advantage of anyone’s kindness. Not even when it comes from an alpha who is handsome and funny and so, so perfect.
Alpha Hugh has a crush on one of the regular customers at his café. Totally innocent, right? Nope. Nothing about his thoughts can be described as innocent. He wants nothing more than to sweep Charlie off his feet, possibly straight into his bed. The only problem? Charlie is pregnant with another man’s child.
Room 404 is the first standalone book in the new m/m mpreg romance series, The Scarlet Hotel, from bestselling author Trisha Linde. Each book features a new couple and begins and ends in a different room at The Scarlet Hotel. Room 404 revolves around an omega who has given up on love, an alpha determined to prove him wrong, a friends-to-lovers romance, an adorable baby, and a well-earned happily ever after.
Trisha Linde spends all her time immersed in books, both reading and writing, mainly because she lives where it’s too cold to do anything else, and what better way to keep warm than with a hot book. The first time she read mpreg, it was love at first sight, and there’s no turning back now.
When she gets older, she will likely invite strangers over for dinner, and you can bet your ass there will be sequins.
This is the first in the ‘Scarlett Hotel’ Long Series of books in the Omegaverse trope and it does involve mpreg, as does all in the series I believe.
Each tale is about occurrences, meetings, in different rooms of the hotel between a diverse range of characters, Alphas or Omegas. The hotel is owned by a Monsieur Holland, who is not French, but all is overseen by the ever vigilant and diligent Roland, Head of House.
On this night Charlie and young handsome man arrives asking to go to Room 404, registered to Ken Dahl. Later, very wealthy married man, Ken Dahl arrives and both men are here on a tryst so to speak. Charlie is Ken’s side piece. Ken is more concerned about his own enjoyment and for once Charlie is brave enough to say he is not happy being treated so rough. Very mean angry words are thrown at Charlie and Ken leaves.
Hugh is the owner of Crave Coffee shop, once all the paper work is done he helps his staff out front. Mostly because he hopes to catch sight if the gorgeous guy Charlie, who usually comes in each morning and sits working on his laptop. This has been going on for some time. But Charlie hasn’t been in for a couple of weeks.
One day Charlie does arrive and he looks ill, slumped over and quiet. Hugh not wanting to be intrusive, eventually goes over and finds that Charlie is indeed under the weather, not fancying his usual coffee, Hugh offers him Ginger Tea. Charlie is overcome at his kindness.
The next time Hugh sees Charlie he discovers the real situation. Charlie is pregnant and had gone to see Ken at his home, he wasn’t there but his wife answered, recognised Charlie, furious when he tells her his situation she flings a cheque for a large sum of money for him to go away and never contact Ken again.
A devastated Charlie fills Hugh in and Hugh promises to be there for him throughout the pregnancy. Only as a friend of course……….

As usual I’ve started into this series way past Book 1, having read Book 9 first, of the two I preferred Book 9, mainly for the location between visits to the Scarlett Hotel. Again here, the speed of the ‘Instalove’ is a bit too much, with the same predicament for the Omega. I’ll try a couple more in the series and see if there is more variety.
Second read through on audio: still loved this story just as much, especially after just finishing Room 405 where we got to see these characters again. The narrator was great and I absolutely recommend if you enjoy mpreg!
After finishing another book by this author I had to read this one next as I love their writing so much! My friend told me about this book and I didn’t actually realize it was omegaverse until I started reading it so that was a fun surprise. The premise of this series is so fun! The stories are kind of centralized around a hotel. The first and last chapter of each book is from a hotel workers POV and they are discussing the MCs. It’s super fun.
I really loved both Charlie and Hugh! I don’t think Hugh could have been any more amazing and supportive to Charlie than he was! I love seeing them gradually becoming more than friends. Charlie was so cute and I’m so glad he finally realized how much of an ass his ex was! I was not going to be happy if he was the other MC in this story (didn’t read the blurb so didn’t actually know 🤣)!
If you’re looking for a fun omegaverse read then I highly recommend this author and series. I cannot wait to read book 2!!
It's an exciting start to a contemporary mpreg series. With a fun twist at the beginning and end of each story with the rascal staff placing bets on what may or may not be in store for the hotel this evening. Charlie makes a mistake in being a dirty secret and ends up being pregnant from that choice. Hugh has admired Charlie from first sight. When he gets the courage to speak to the beautiful omega, life changes as they both know it. This starts with a beautiful friendship that leads to little by little as these two men become comfortable with one another. A sweet low angst mpreg series that I look forward to reading more of.
DNF: 26% What I like reading about romances in general is you learn what turns you off after a while. I found I don’t really like it when a character already has dreams and a projected image of who someone is that they fall in love with…and the person is someone they literally never met before.
I don’t know it was just really weird and kind of stalkery how Hugh was written. Wanting to look up a stranger’s address in his customer files so he could visit him at his house? Sick or not, I’d freak the fuck out if the random man I see at the cafe came to visit me just because I didn’t show up for him to ogle.
I set down the book after he finally sat down with Charlie only to keep internally talking about his dick and sex. Again with a man he was meeting for the first time. Oh and a man that *wasn’t feeling well’*
This book is incredible, and I adored reading it. The first book in a brand-new series, and I can't wait to continue with the rest of them! In the beginning, Charlie and Hugh are just friends, but I really enjoy watching how their relationship grows as they deal with Charlie's pregnancy. I adore the way in which Hugh gives Charlie his undivided attention and support since Charlie is all that Hugh has ever wished for in his life. Their love continues to develop, and it is wonderful to be able to witness the joy that their love provides to both of their lives as well as the lives of those who are most important to them. It is a wonderful and touching story about falling in love, and I wholeheartedly recommend reading it.

Hugh was playing the long game I know this is a really good book because I am not a big fan of slow burns. I find that I get a bit bored and will sometimes skip a few pages if it is really really tedious but this book was none of that. It was exciting Omega Charlie was at the hotel to meet The man that swept him off his feet. Even finding out he was married didn’t stop Charlie from continuing to see him. Ken rushed into the hotel kissing Charlie like he’d missed him. Nothing is going to stop them from having some fun but at the end literally seconds after Ken gets redressed. Charlie is shocked as he thought they were there for the whole night and he thought Ken was going to tell him he was leaving his wife but it seemed that it was Charlie that Ken was given up. Saying it was just a bit of fun. Charlie was devastated but decided to get on with his life. after a few days he decided to go to his favourite CAFE and get a drink and see his favourite alpha Hugh. Hugh had liked Charlie for a while so when he comes in the CAFE looking under the weather his employees suggest he goes over with some ginger tea and see if he’s okay and they hit it off and started talking. A few days later Hugh was driving everyone insane as he walked up and down the CAFE looking for Charlie. He decided to have a look on social media and he found out that Charlie had a boyfriend and Hugh Was devastated. Charlie decided to go to the CAFE and get another ginger tea because he was feeling very sick and he just found out he was pregnant why now after he had met Hugh. Hugh was a little distant with him when he got to the CAFE and he hadn’t a clue what he had done. They started talking about mundane stuff and in the end they decided to be friends explaining that Charlie no longer needs to feel alone because he would always be there for him but then he quickly gets up and leaves confusing Charlie even more. The next day he sees Hugh at the café and agreed to meet at 6 to go out for a meal. The night is going well and then Charlie tells him that he’s pregnant and the guy is no longer in the picture, Charlie starts crying and Hugh pulls him into his arms and explains he’s not alone that he’s there and always have a friend in him. Secretly Hugh Wants to be more than friends, but seeing the state that Charlie is in worked out that he should not tell him just yet and make sure he’s there for him but how will Charlie react when he finds out that Hugh wants more from him?? This really is a beautiful book I just could not put it down there’s something very special about the way that Hugh And Charlie connect. The banter they have and the chemistry. It’s all extremely sweet and beautiful. I much preferred the last third of this book but I understood the buildup. I have just got to say as well what an awful person kens wife is, just plain nasty. I’m so looking forward to the next book in the series and to see what the bets are for the next room because let’s be honest Emily was right she just got the people wrong.

Sweet Omega Charlie finds himself pregnant with his married ex alpha’s baby. Cafe shop owner Hugh thinks Charlie could use a friend (even though he wants more than friendship). While trying NOT to catch feelings, their friendship is more intimate than not.
Sweet and sexy with a definite HEA
***** POV… multi first person
Standalone or series… book 1 in series CAN be read as a standalone
Hugh and Charlie have had a unique friendship, which was important in the backdrop of this story.
Charlie was seeing a man that was essentially unavailable to him in more ways than one. After Calling off the affair, leaving Charlie brokenhearted, he discovers he's expecting. Now what?
Hugh has crushed on the sweet omega for far too long. Coming into his coffee shop, placing his order and working on his laptop - he just admired from afar. Suddenly, Charlie isn't looking like himself and things move into a different territory.
As Charlie struggles with what to do, Hugh offers something to Charlie he didn't realize he needed - a really strong friend to lean on. In every stage of his pregnancy, Hugh was there. Offering his hand and his heart, he didn't care that Charlie was carrying another man's child. He's more than willing to be that alpha and dad in every regard. Allowing him to lead the relationship, made a difference in how receptive Charlie was to Hugh.
There were some really cute and funny moments and some heart-tugging moments. The encounter with Hugh and Ken was the most unexpected part of this story. The birth father did the right thing and let the new family be what they needed to be for the sake of the baby.
From the beginnings in Room 404 to it's end, this was one great beginning to a new series and I can't wait to read more!

You can't help but feel bad for Charlie with how this book starts. He gets used by a man who's already married and what's worse? That slimeball of a man gets him pregnant! Don't worry though, he gets his prince charming.
Hugh owns his own café where he works daily. He is usually in his office but when a certain omega comes in that's when he works out front. He's admired Charlie from afar but had been too afraid to do anything about it. Until his coworker tells him to take a ginger tea over to a sick looking Charlie.
Who knew ginger tea could change their lives?
What started out as friendship grew into a living relationship, one where Hugh stepped up to help take care of their baby and to take care of Charlie as well. The baby might not biologically be his but that's not stopping him from calling the baby his son.
Overall a good story in my opinion, the reason there isn't 5 stars is because I feel like when they eventually got together the story kind of sped up. Everything happened really quickly after that and I got disconnected from the story.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to see a lonely and shy café owner gets his happily ever after with a omega who deserves not only a good alpha but his own happy ending.

What a sweet mpreg story! I loved reading stories like Room 404. I’m now intrigued about reading the rest of the Scarlet Hotel series. I kinda got a “Hotel” the tv show vibes from reading the synopsis. However, the story mostly didn’t take place in a hotel room but it would start/end at the hotel. It was a very good reading for me. I’ve been lately getting into mpreg stories and loved this one.
The story starts at the Check-in desk and ends there as well! It centers on an Omega named Charlie who went there to hook up with his married guy. He’s been ignoring the fact that the guy won’t divorce his wife until that day when he couldn’t take it anymore. He got pregnant after that last hook-up. In the meantime, he would do his free-lance work at a cafe owned by Alpha Hugh. Hugh has been admiring Charlie from afar (his office in the back). On that fateful day when Charlie found out he was pregnant, Hugh decided to be bold and bring Charlie a cup of coffee after being prodded by his employer to do so. That is the start of something beautiful. I’ll stop right there and have you pick up the book and read to find out what happens!
Two sweet men, enamoured of the other, too shy to do anything about it. Charlie, deceived and pregnant and alone. Hugh, unsure and lonely. Together they would make a great couple but Hugh doesn't have the confidence to approach the gorgeous omega who frequents his coffee shop and Charlie can't even contemplate a relationship now, not even with the attractive alpha he can't stop looking at. Timing really is everything. Their story develops from pining to friendship to love, but I just wanted a bit more depth. There was a lot of time spent on them dithering about what they think the other feels and not enough time once they profess their love finally. I wanted to see more of them in love and more of them with their baby. This started at The Scarlet Hotel and came full circle at the end. I was intrigued with Roland and Monsieur Holland and fully expect to see their story at some point, probably the last one in the series, and Emily is a mystery that needs solving too so I'm going to have to keep on reading.
Absolutely delightful and funny! We go through life having the highest expectations, then we're thrown a few curve balls. Funniest, coolest thing is the staff betting each night on the room occupants. Funniest thing I've read in a long time. Charlie, an omega thought Ken, was the love of his life. Ken, was a customer at the coffee shop where Charlie worked. They had a fling, with Charlie thinking he was on the way to his HEA. Ken, let him know his wife came first, and he Charlie was out. Then, Charlie found out Ken left him with a gift. This was a big curve ball. Reactions of family is another curve ball. Hugh, owns a coffee shop, who crushed on his customer, Charlie who came in every day. He finally talked to Charlie and their courtship began. This was a fun, sweet absolutely satisfying story. The hotel workers were fun. Hopefully, there is a story there. Hugh and his staff were fun. All of the characters were likeable and fun. Good flow, good story. Well done! This is the first book in The Scarlet Hotel series and I really enjoyed it. This is the story of Charlie and Hugh. Charlie is an omega and has very limited relationship experience. He meets his boyfriend expecting one thing and getting another. Hugh is an alpha and owns the cafe where Charlie goes for drinks. He has been crushing on Charlie since the first day that he saw him. Charlie just lights up the room and makes Hugh happy. They actually first talk to one another when Charlie is reeling over the life changes that being pregnant causes. Hugh senses that Charlie needs a friend and offers to be one. Even though he wants much more than that, Hugh believes that Charlie belongs to another. This is their story. I liked how their friendship grew with each encounter. Being together makes both of them very happy. This is a well written story and is easy to read. It will make you smile when they get their HEA.

Room 404 is where omega Charlie learned that the alpha that he thought was the love of his life was not. He was a cheater and a liar and he ended their tryst in room 404. Charlie felt terrible, used and the light went out of him. But he didn't realize that what ended in room 404 opened the door for a beginning with Hugh, the lovely alpha who wants to take care of him. Who sees him as someone to cherish and care for. And Hugh had the patience to first care for Charlie as a friend when he found himself alone and pregnant with the cheater's child. Hugh embraces Charlie and the child he is carrying and they grow into a family. Things did not start well for Charlie in this story but they got a lot better with Hugh. Some endings allow for the best things to begin.

This is a new to me author and it was a delight to read as this book came full circle! It started in the Scarlet Hotel with a broken heart and ended in the Scarlet Hotel with a blooming, mended heart!
The dynamic between Charlie Evans and Hugh Barnes started off as friends and progressed throughout the story to an adorable family unit with a swoon worthy Alpha and his sweet, pregnant Omega who learns the value and true meaning of friendship, love, trust and fatherhood in a AO relationship!
Hugh was sweet and attentive as an Alpha in and out of the bedroom and wanted to show his Omega how it feels to be treated like a King and not a dirty secret- oh the feels!
I look forward to reading and recommending more stories from Trisha Linde!

3,5 This is the first book in a new series, which is set around 'The Scarlet hotel' rooms. Which can be read as a standalone. Mostly told from both main characters their POV, except the hotel chapters.
My expectation was that the story was more set in and around the hotel, howecer that was not the case, except the first chapter(s) and the last one.
I however did like the friendship and love developing between Charlie, ICT support worker and omegaand Hugh, a coffeshop owner and alpha. Ofcourse it has it ups and downs, before they get together. I however like how they find eachother, with their human faults and all., without reservations . And choose who they accept as their bio and found family. A sweet Mpreg story, with cute baby Huey, with a hea.

Omega Charlie fell in love with a creep who turned out to be married and selfishly using him. Charlie ends up pregnant and on his own. Alpha Hugh runs a café that Charlie seems to like. Hugh is drawn to the Omega, but had thought he was with someone else. Now that he knows the situation, Hugh wants to offer Charlie at least his friendship to get through this. He will protect Charlie. And as they spend time together, Charlie finds that Hugh is a decent guy and truly cares for him and the unborn baby. Will the two fall in love and become a real family?
I really liked the characters (except for the cheating creep). Both Charlie and Hugh were thoughtful and caring, perfect for each other. The hotel was a bit strange, but I am sure future stories will expand on that.
I really enjoyed this sweet alpha/omega story. This book starts at a hotel where the staff entertain themselves by making bets about the guests. This is where we meet Charlie who has a horrible experience with his ex and gets pregnant. Hugh met Charlie at the cafe he owns but has always been too shy to speak with him. One day he takes the plunge and starts talking with Charlie. They form a tentative friendship and when Hugh finds out Charlie is pregnant, he offers to be there for him in any way he can. I liked how they got to know each other and how sweet Hugh was through the early stages of Charlie's pregnancy. And then there was that awesome little nudge (no spoilers!) that finally brought them together as a couple. I also liked how the story ended with them wanting to make new memories at the hotel. I'm looking forward to reading more stories from The Scarlet Hotel.
The premise of this story drew me in, because I love an omegaverse story and friends-to-lovers tropes. This one just fell short for me. While I understand that in a shorter book that romances and relationships develop quickly, this one just didn't give me much. The characters were a bit confused and not as developed as they could be. The two MMCs move from acquaintances to friends to lovers to married in about 30 pages and the chemistry just wasn't there for me. There are some spots in the story that refer to their sizzling chemistry and I must have missed it? There is one spicy scene, which was OK but I think they needed some more tension or romance or angst or...something else.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to go back and start at the beginning of this series. I missed the first few books and knew I eventually wanted to catch up. I have three more to go before I'm done.
Books one and two are both on audio. I finished listening to book one and I enjoyed the narration by 'new to me' narrator, Silas Whitaker. He did a fantastic job and brought this story to life.
I really love these 10 standalone books and they can be read in any order (just don't start with VIP or Staff Only, these need to be read last and are extras in the series). If you haven't started this series yet I can highly recommend it. if I had it to do over I would start with book one and read them in order just because I could.
This book is amazing and I loved it! The first of a new series and I can’t wait to read what comes next. Charlie and Hugh start out as friends and I love the way their relationship develops as they deal with Charlie’s pregnancy. Charlie is everything that Hugh has ever wanted and I love the way he is completely devoted to him. Their love grows and it’s wonderful to experience the joy that their love brings to their lives and the lives of those closest to them. It is a fantastic and sweet story about finding love and I highly recommend it!.

Adorable story of longing, loss, surprise pregnancy and true love. Charlie is a gorgeous omega in what situation of seeing a married man. When said man breaks it off, Charlie is devastated and finds he us pregnant. Hugh is a sweet alpha that owns the coffee shop Charlie frequents. He has developed a huge crush on Charlie from afar and knows he has zero chance with him. After finally gathering the courage to speak to Charlie, they begin a friendship. I loved reading about these two. They began as friends and developed into so much more as the book progresses. If you like friends to lovers, you will enjoy this one.
I loved this book. It was a quick, sweet read. I loved Charlie and Hugh. I felt really bad for Charlie and how he was hurt by someone who claimed to loved him and now found himself pregnant and alone. Hugh was just the alpha he needed for support as Charlie had no friends and was trying to figure things out. Hugh had such a huge crush on Charlie- it was adorable. They started out as friends, and when Hugh learned what he was going through, he stepped up to help Charlie in any way he needed. A sweet romance. 5 stars.
OMG...this was a delight. I absolutely loved this romance. Hugh was the ultimate alpha that makes these romances worthwhile. After Charlie unfortunately relationship with that loser alpha, meeting Hugh was just fated. Loved their whirlwind romance and the adorable Huey at the end. This Scarlet Hotel series so far is intriguing and just from the prologue to the epilogue, I cant wait to see whats next.

This is the first book in The Scarlet Hotel Series. A great book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Charlie is an Omega and Hugh is an Alpha and they are the MC’s of this book. I can’t wait for the next book, and I can recommend this one as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
I loved Room 404 by Trisha Linde. It's the first book in The Scarlet Hotel series. I loved Hugh and Charlie's book. It was everything I have come to expect in an excellent mpreg book: a caring alpha that doesn't care that the omega is pregnant with a different alpha's child and a sweet omega just looking for love and acceptance.

I really liked this sweet love story. It doesn't start as sweet with Charlie being left and finding himself pregnant. But it soon became sweet with him and Hugh getting closer together. Charlie's pregnancy is a big part of the book, and Hugh was all in. He might've been a bit reluctant to put his heart on the line at first, but he then transformed into the most simp to ever simped. Their little family was so cute!
This was a short love story the second time around. Charlie and Hugh deserved it. I expected more on the hotel as a background to the love story, but the author kept it neat and brought it right back in the end. Nice story. I will read more Trisha Linde novels.
