Jones intercepts a message from someone reaching out for Haley for assistance. The Silencers split up temporarily, with Haley out of town and helping someone from his past. Recker is left to deal with an impending threat from someone he is all too familiar with, who is once again upping his efforts to gain more control of the city. With the help of Malloy, Recker will meet this growing menace head-on as Vincent’s grip of the city starts to loosen.

Hard Wired was a great book that featured two stories in one as Recker has a showdown with the return of an old foe, a deadly gang leader in the past endangered the entire Silencer team including his girlfriend Mia. This unfinished business comes to a head as Recker teams up with Malloy and Vincent to take down this foe and his gang once and for all. Will they have everything they need to do it when the last time they tangled with him they barely survived?
Meanwhile, Haley is on a different case in which his ex-girlfriend reached out to him to ask for his help in finding her missing husband, the guy who she left Haley for. A very awkward situation in which Haley decided to put the past aside to uncover the mystery of his disappearance. Will the discovery come at a high cost that may include his life if he gets to the truth?
I enjoyed this book as it really brought closure in some element to a dangling plot that I had forgotten about. The solo story featuring Haley was long overdue and giving him more character development is always a plus. This book is a fast read, action packed and highly recommended.
Hard Wired centers around more than one storyline.
We have Chris breaking off to deal with something from his past. We get to see a harder side of him in this story as someone from his past reaches out for help.
We also have Mike helping out Vincent and Malloy with their own problem as someone from all their pasts resurfaced. There is a bit of guessing who to trust, but that's pretty typical in this series.
David offers assistance to both storylines and helps to tie them together even though they are separate.
A new fast moving story in the Silencer series with Recker and Haley dealing with separate issues in separate towns - Recker working with Vincent and Malloy to deal with an old enemy, while Haley is trying to help a former partner. Both face challenging situations which they deal with in their inimitable style.
This might be one of my favorite books in the series. I found it really intriguing with Chris taking on his own assignment and of course the connection between wrecker and Malloy. Jones didn’t have a very big part in this one. The ending was a little unbelievable helicopters in Philadelphia shooting things out come on, but otherwise I really liked it.
Nicely written book, good back story on Hayley and Recker works with Vincent and crew A lot of the other characters are getting developed, especially Tyrrell and Malloy seems to be becoming more relevant than Vincent Heartily recommend this book
