Levi's Love

Rate this book

Unrequited love hurts like hell

Levi Brown has loved Noah White since he was a teenager, but Noah isn’t looking for a relationship. Every time Levi sees him, his heart aches for what it cannot have. Because dear Lord, he wants Noah, in his life, in his bed.

Especially in his bed. The only reason Levi is still a virgin is because he was waiting for Noah. Except Noah doesn’t want him. Maybe it’s time for Levi to finally accept the situation and move on.

Something stirs for the first time

Noah White doesn’t find people unattractive – he just doesn’t want to jump into bed with any of them. He and Levi have been like brothers most of their lives, and when shocking news rocks Levi’s world, Noah is there for him. When their relationship intensifies, Noah is exhilarated and excited – and confused. It’s kind of fitting that the first person he finds himself wanting is his best friend, but not if Levi doesn’t want him that way.

How long before Levi and Noah see what’s right under their noses?

Maybe it’s time for an intervention…

So many mixed feelings writing this book!
I've come to love these eight guys. I love Ben's snarkiness, Seb's humor - and the fact that he seems to have a permanent hard on LMAO. Dylan's curiosity, Shaun's strength, Finn's positivity, Aaron's laid back approach to life, Noah's inner geek - and the way he grows and accepts change - and Levi the peacemaker, the glue who holds them together...
And Grammy... Lord, I love her. I've loved every scene she appeared in, and in this final book, she steals quite a few of them.
I hope you've enjoyed their journey as much as I enjoyed writing it. I'm not ready to leave Maine behind yet...

Jeezum crow... I love Grammy! I've already warned my kids what they've got to look forward to... she's my ideal matriarch, and I hope I can do her proud.

Fans of K.C. Wells' Maine Men series are going to be incredibly happy with Levi's Love! And if you haven't delved into this amazing series yet, hurry on up and get started with Finn's Fantasy... you don’t want to give Grammy cause to go lookin' for her broom handle now, do you?

K.C. Wells always adds a hopeful message to her romance novels, and I really enjoyed the themes of family, forgiveness, and friendship in Levi’s Love. Levi faces some intense challenges in this story, and discovers that with open communication, and the support of his loved ones, he can face each obstacle and come out a winner.

The Maine Men’s series is filled with interesting characters, and we get to spend time with all of them in this final installment. Thankfully, at the end of the book K.C. Wells promises at least one more bonus story, as well as a spin-off to be set on Mount Desert Island.

If you've already read Levi’s Love, I highly recommend you revisit this marvelous story in audio! John Solo's performance is absolutely beautiful. Mr. Solo captures all the emotion and passion and humor in this powerful story. And his Grammy is awesome.

My heart is so full right now, I don't even know where to start this review.

Super swoony review alert!!

Last year I stumbled on this series by accident, not knowing it would impact me the way it ended up doing. Since then I've been reading and loving every book. I have been laughing with these guys, crying with these guys, been frustrated with these guys. But most of all, I have been amazed by the friendship between these guys. The unconditional love they have for each other. This series is more than just a romance between lovers. It's a love letter to friendship and found family.

So before I move on to my review of this actual installment in the series, if you haven't yet started it, do yourself a favor and go and pick up the first book Finn's Fantasy. You won't be disappointed. And yes, I do believe this series should be read in order.

In this, the last book of the series we finally get Levi and Noah's story. The only pairing within the original group of friends. Levi has been in love with Noah since he was 14 years old, afraid of making the move since it might risk their friendship. And Noah, well Noah has boxed himself in and can't really figure out where Levi fits in all of this. With a little help from grammy (I love her) the both men finally find their way.

I have to admit that I was a little confused in the beginning. The perspectives were jumping around a little too much. But I soon got over that and when I did I loved this one just as much as I loved the other books.

I'm going to come back to this series many times I'm sure of it.

Based on the blurb I had high hopes for this book. I love unrequited love and best friends who fall in love.

So I’m writing this review as I read the book and we are 55% into the book and they still haven’t even kissed. True, Noah is demi-sexual but they’ve established that he’s very attracted to Noah so now it’s just the slowest of slow burns.

More niggles… I really did not like the way the story turned out with Levi’s Mom. Ugh.

This is a very Hallmark romance. It feels very sanitized. 61% in and this is really not the book for me. Should I DNF? Probably.
These are like no 27 year olds that I know. This is set in Maine and it doesn’t feel like it. It’s really off.

Ok I’m still reading but that 1st sex scene was so bizarre and Levi was kinda left behind is how I’ll say it. He basically has already said he’ll accept crumbs so I guess that is what he gets. Skimming until the end.

It does not improve and the end was so bad. Propping the question at someone else’s wedding is so cringy I have second hand embarrassment. Ugh. This book was definitely NOT for me 😣

A delightful ending to this lovely series.

I don't have much knowledge about asexuality but from the little I do have, I was fully on board with Noah's dawning awareness of his feelings for Levi.

It's been a journey to reach the happy ending for these two lovely men as we've seen each of their best friends fully in love.

But it was worth the wait and K.C. signs off this series with a lovely slow-burning romance which has all the feels.

There's also revelations which bring new changes and challenges to Levi and Grammy and they add some tension to the narrative without messing around with the growing feelings between Noah and Levi.

This is a really wonderful way to draw attention to the found family aspect that's been a hallmark of the series and it's a fitting way to draw it to a close.

I've very much enjoyed reading each of the seven books that make up the Maine Men world and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I’ve finished the Maine men series and I’m sad. I rarely read a book for a second time, but I’m sure I’ll read these all again. I’ve loved these books. They just make me feel all warm inside. John Solo was the perfect narrator for these stories.

K.C. Wells is one of my favorite authors.

A sweet, slow-burn, friends-to-lovers story. Levi's been secretly pining since high school, but Noah is just starting to realize he has bigger feelings for Levi and maybe his asexuality is something else he hadn't considered. Their friend group has seen the signs and is ready to help push them along, as is Levi's beloved Grammy.

I really felt for Levi throughout the story. H's such a sweetheart. As these two try to get their acts together, Levi encounters some other personal troubles and revelations that shake him. I did wish Levi had been able to deal with one particular issue a bit differently, but then again I can be very vengeful when it comes to characters I like.

There some very emotional moments, some very sweet ones and some funny ones too, mostly courtesy of Grammy. I've read a few in the series, but not all. As all the prior couples are involved here, I'm sure those who have been there the whole ride will get even more enjoyment out of this. I didn't know some of the couples, but will be working my way back to their stories and looking forward to a possible spin-off.

Sweet & Perfect Ending...and a Preview

If you've read this series in order you can certainly approve of the final book detailing the coming together of the two enigmatic men in the group--and you can breathe a lot easier when you look at the cover: It's the only one in the series which puts both MC's there, and IMHO each perfectly imagined with Levi in the foreground and Noah in the background.

This book needs no review if you've followed the series--just revel in the surprises in each chapter as all of the men of Maine pass through it and Grammy takes charge at every opportunity.

Be forewarned that the story brings Grammy to the forefront in a way you cannot have imagined, and she is at the center of two incredibly beautiful scenes that will cause you to catch your breath and maybe even shed a tear. Hint: One takes place in Washington, DC, but I won't spoil that nor tell you what the other one is.

Just be content that yes, this book ends the series but according to a post-note by the author, there are more similarly inclined young men living in another town in Maine who are about to get their own series. To that we can only say, "Uh, yup!"

A sweet, slow-burn story!

I have been looking forward to Levi’s story so much and K.C. Wells did a fantastic job giving him and Noah their HEA. I’ve loved every book in this series but this one is really special. If you haven’t already read the other books in this series, I think you need to read at least the first one before you read Levi’s Love so that you can get a feel for the special group of friends that make up the Maine Men. While most of the stories do standalone very well, this is the final one in the series so having at least some background will give you a better experience reading this book.

We know that Levi has been pining for Noah for years. They are great friends but Levi wants more than that but he’s also afraid it will ruin their friendship if he tells Noah how he feels. Once Noah finally realizes that he loves Levi he becomes afraid to tell him for the same reason Levi has. This is definitely a slow-burn romance so don’t expect a lot of explicit scenes – that just wouldn’t be right for these two. What we do get is a slow and sweet discovery of their romantic feelings for each other.

While this story is about Levi and Noah finally discovering their mutual love for each other, it’s also about the family that this group of 8 guys created back in high school.

Grammy has been a significant figure in nearly all of the books but she really takes center stage in this one. I won’t do spoilers but I will say that there were a lot of hints along the way so when the thing happened it really wasn’t a big surprise. But before that thing, there was a major surprise that knocked both Grammy and Levi for a loop and I sure didn’t see it coming. Levi didn’t take the surprise very well and that led into stuff I can’t write about because it would be too spoiler-y.

While I am really sad to see this series end, I was also happy to learn that we probably haven’t heard the last of the Maine Men as K.C. has a new series coming that is also set in Maine and I’m very happy about that!

A copy of this book was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

What a great end to the Maine Men series! Levi and Noah finally get their HEA. In this unusual romance, Levi and Noah have been friends since they were 14 years old. When he first saw Noah, Levi realized for certain that he was attracted to men and was gay because Noah awakened all of his feelings. As they grew into their late twenties, they remained best friends, but never acted on it because Noah identified as straight, then later gay but asexual. Levi always felt that giving up his virginity should be with someone special and since he didn't have that, he didn't have any experience. On the other hand, Noah was occasionally active with hook-ups, but he never felt a physical attraction with any man until he began to feel that pull toward Levi.

Now things are changing, Levi and Noah are roommates, and spending more time together than ever. What will it take for one of them to be brave and tell the other how they truly feel? This series has a magical ending, going full circle to feature all of the friends coming together to celebrate Finn and Joel's (Bk 1) wedding. Also, Levi finally gets some closure about his missing mother who abandoned him as an infant. And there is a nice little lead-in to the next series. This low-angst, passionate, loving series with the best friend group had a wonderful conclusion in this book.

Noah and Levi’s romance is a slow, slow burn— it fits their relationship and who they are as characters, and it’s definitely interesting to see the shifting in their established dynamic as something that’s full of gradual yet profound changes. There’s a lot of emphasis on the found family dynamic here, and many, many familiar characters from previous books in the series. It may not be technically necessary to read those before this one, but it will definitely add depth and flavor to the reading experience here. As a bonus, they’re very much of-a-piece, stylistically, so if this plot and writing style appeal to you, the others will as well.

I have been waiting for Levi's story since I first read the blurb for the start of this series back in April 2021. Even more, after meeting this wonderful group of men who steal your heart with their amazing bond of friendships. They all love each other like family, but there is one amongst the group Levi loves even more. It takes us numerous books and various men of the group to couple off and fall in love for us to finally learn the one Levi has set his heart on since they were teens. Levi couldn't have picked a more perfect partner than Noah.

Both Noah and Levi had character growth throughout their story. There was a lot of introspection on Noah's part. Coming to terms with one's sexuality as a fluid spectrum isn't always easy. Levi learning that his needs are just as valid and important as those he cares for. And finding out the best friend you love with all your heart loves you in return. I honestly adored these two together and enjoyed their gradual shift from best friends to lovers. I will miss these characters so much and was so happy Wells gave them such a wonderful ending.

Levi et Noah avec un Culomètre à 🍑

Dernier tome...

A lire absolument !

4.25 stars. I was so looking forward to this one. I followed the whole series, I get to know all the Maine men, and I knew one of them was in love with one of his friends.

Levi knew he loved Noah since he was fourteen. He also understands Noah doesn’t love him back and isn’t even a guy who jumps into bed either.
Levi is still a virgin, he saved himself in a way. Now it’s time to move on, put on his skinny jeans, and head over to the gay bar and try to get laid.
Noah is shocked to see Levi leaving the bar with a man. It’s doing strange things with him.

Grammy is a sneaky one, she has plans for them. Noah should take a room in the house Levi and she is living in, there’s enough space.
It’s a slow burn, very slow, I’m so bad with it. Still, I loved it.
Noah and Levi get indeed closer living together, they have a lot to talk about and talk they do.

The whole story (read: also series), is quite mellow with a lot of conversations and reasoning, don’t expect high heat or excessive hurt, it is all mild, and there’s enough room for laughs and tears.
At the center of this series is Grammy, what a woman, feisty, sharp vision and mind, sweet, honest straightforward, and caring. She is all Levi got of family, she’s his everything. Her past is also Levi’s. There’s a beautiful side-story around this.
All the Maine men and Grammy are cheering at the sideline when Levi and Noah finally got together.
Watching them realize they are meant for each other was wonderful.

There is a marriage in this last story of the series, yes! Finn and Joel will get married and Levi is the best man.
Overall a captivatingly written lovely series, the concept was wonderful, with ordinary people, who could live next door. But as you know every person has their own story, that’s why everyone is special in their own way. This series is a great example!

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Amazing Series!

Levi's Love
Maine Men, Book 7
By: K.C. Wells
Narrated by: John Solo

K.C. Wells created something very special with these “Maine Men”, a group of men who share interests and became friends over rate years, each book in the series featured a different member of that group, except for this one, it features two of them, Noah White and Levi Brown. Levi fell in love with Noah when they were in their teens but Noah was never interested a relationship, but that did not stop Levi from saving himself for him. These two not only have the rest of the Maine men in their corner but Levi’s Grammy, too. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is beautifully written and plotted with plenty of drama, heartwarming and emotional moments and a slow burn, friends to lovers romance. Besides Levi and Noah’s budding romance, there is some family drama, some great Grammy moments, and friend moments. I am sad this is the last book of this series and I am going to miss this wonderful group of men, I loved each one of them individually and when they got together. K.C. Wells, thank you for this amazing story and series, I am looking forward to the next adventure you take us on.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, K.C. Wells cast the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. John Solo is a superbly talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. His portrayal of each character is spot on, as are his vocal choices, with each one fitting their persona perfectly and his performances have been consistent throughout the series. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance and has you feeling every single one. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances this amazing story another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

This is book 7 in the Maine Men series and Levi is the final one of the group of friends to find love. It turns out that it's a love that's been with him since he was 14, but he was too frightened to act on his feelings incase Noah didn't feel the same way and it ended their friendship.

Levi realises that he can't hold a torch for Noah any longer if he is to move along with his life, so one evening he decides to visit the nearest Gay club. He meets and chats to non other than his local postman, but his greatest surprise is seeing Noah there, dancing with another man. Noah has also seen Levi but neither man says anything until much later. Levi confides in the wonderful Grammy, who readers of the series will already know and love, and she of course sets plans in motion to get the two of them together!

When Noah sees Levi at the club, he's surprised by the strong feelings he finds surfacing after seeing him leave with another man. He realises that if he wants Levi to himself, then he has to act on them before Levi falls for someone else. With the help of Grammy and some trains, their bond grows even stronger especially when Levi gets some shocking news and Noah is there to provide the much needed shoulder for him.

This is a wonderful end to the series and you will love Grammy and the rest of the gang even more by the end of the book. The series really needs to be read in order and this book may be confusing if you haven't read any of the others. It's a fabulous series to read and you will love all the characters and their found family and interactions. Levi's Love is a very slow burn romance, but plenty goes on before the men finally find love together. I was kindly given an ARC for an honest review.

Levi's Love is the last in the Maine Men series from KC Wells. It's a lovely, slow burn romance between best friends. Levi has been in love with Noah since he was fourteen years old but Noah has never shown interest in anyone, coming out to everyone as Ace the year before. They're brought even closer together here, though, with one meddling Grammy and two big events that have the power to rock their world's.
I really enjoyed the slow build of this one as it's been hinted at in previous books and with so many years of friendship, it would feel false to jump from one relationship status to another with no build up or anticipation. You can sense the strong bond they have and how much they care for each other. Noah's truly there when Levi needs him most and Levi steps up to show interest in what makes Noah truly happy.
Their friends even want to see them happy but no one as much as Grammy. She may biologically be Levi's grandmother but she's taken all of his friends under her wing, loving them all unconditionally. She really comes into her own here as we spend more time with her, see her stubborn streak in action as well as her smooth interference when in comes to the leading men's relationship status. Stroke of genius how she goes about it all too. It's also lovely to see a big event from another couple, bringing all of the Maine Men family together, reminiscing but also looking to the future.
A must read for fans of the series and anyone looking for a slow burner between two best friends.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Levi's and Noah's story

Another great instalment in this series is a good story and excellent narration. What more could we ask for?

More of a fun book for this group of friends you would love to have. The backstory for this book is well written. I loved reading/listening to this book; of course, we got our HEA. Well worth the read.

Levi would love to have a relationship with Noah, that was, if Noah would ever notice him as anything apart from a best friend. Levi had kept his virginity for Noah, but he was just about to give up on that.

Noah sleeps with people but doesn't find people attractive. It takes an issue with grammy for these two to realise what is missing in their lives.

Even though this book is part of the Maine Men series, each book, in my opinion, can be read alone, although you do get to meet all the other men briefly in each book and the wonderful Grammy who loves a party.

A well-written book about men, love and friends to lovers, and how we can all be on the rainbow spectrum. Excellent Narration from John Solo again. I speed up the narration to 1.30. but this is usual for me, and I find most people read too slowly.

So much emotion wrapped up in this last book of "Maine Men".
Though this last book is devoted to Levi and Noah and the desire each hid from the other for so many years out of fear of rejection all the characters from the previous books (Ben-Aaron, Finn-Joel, Shaun-Nathan, Dylan-Mark, Seb-Marcus) where present to throw in their feelings of love for their dear friends, and deviant ideas (hilarious ones) for getting Levi and Noah to realize they were meant to be together. AND then was the ever-present Grammy. None of these books would not be the success they are without Grammy's presence. Here is one endearing woman who opened her heart and home to this group of men and their chosen partners. The inspiration that drove Grammy is revealed in a middle chapter and leads her, along with Levi and Noah, to The Vietnam Wall for finding Levi's Uncle Jeremy (his namesake) and his lover Wayne's tiles on The Wall. Anyone who has had the privilege of seeing The Wall in person (I am one) knows how inspiring it is. I loved the unveiling of Grammy's family history; the sad parts and the life she had with Granddad who "bought her chairs". One will just have to read this book to understand the significance of that quote. Overall, a marvelous ending to this book and to this series. Hopefully, the ending hinted at in the epilogue comes to fruition. I for one would like to see more of Daniel. This is my voluntary and willing review of the complimentary book I received.

Capstone to a phenomenal M/M romance series
Perfect cover! Perfect ending to a brilliant series! If you like M/M romance, this series is a must read. The intimate scenes are limited but that doesn’t diminish the passion with which these young men go after life and their intended. Levi has had a secret love for Noah throughout this group of books and it was only revealed at the end of the last one who that might be. Levi and Noah, now both about 27yo have known each other since they were 14yo in HS. Levi has crushed on him for that long.
It’s not until Levi decides that he is tired of waiting for Noah that an event triggers Noah’s attention. Concurrently, words of wisdom prompt Levi to look at his relationship to Noah differently which makes all the difference. Humorous idea among their friends to plan an intervention to get them together. Will that unite Noah and Levi? Will other tragic events bring them closer together or push them apart?
There were so many touching scenes: Viet Nam War Memorial; hospital; reading a letter; meeting Elijah and Amelia as well as others. There will be revelations: Jeff and Wayne; holding his V-card; and especially meeting Amelia and Elijah. Fortunately, it appears we’ll get to read more about Eli in a new series that I’m already looking forward to. I’m sad to see these guys go, but so happy that they all found their happily ever after with the men of their dreams. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews.
