The Flame holds the power to all of the underworld.

It controls all of the souls, demons, and all of the supernatural beings living in Hell and in the Shadow World. I am next in line for the Flame and becoming the Queen. In order to prepare me for my new role, my father has given me one task before I can take over: become a soul reaper and find my three hellhounds.

Completing the task is harder than expected when two out of the three hellhounds I've chosen don't want anything to do with me. And with people after me and my throne, I'm finding completing my father's orders nearly impossible.

Now, it’s a race against the clock to finish my tasks at the Grim Reaper Academy, claim my throne, and the Flame before it’s too late.

Hell's Reaper is a paranormal reverse harem novel, meaning the female main character doesn't have to choose between any of her eight men. This novel is intended for a mature audience.

Is there another version of this book out there? Because there’s no way I’m reading what everyone else is.

This book is riddled with errors (spelling, missing words, etc), poorly planned transitions (one minute they’re eating breakfast then suddenly they’re at school), and is so slow to get to the plot. Why do these guys so mean to her for no reason? But yet they all want her? There’s a real lack of character development and that’s a bummer because this series has the potential to be really interesting.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 spice (interesting back burner plot)

Uhhhh what the shit! That ending!? Okay, starting the next book IMMEDIATELY. I still think this book is super interesting, but is definitely more spice than plot. Luckily the plot is at least interesting although can be kind of uneventful for long periods and then BAM super intense scene. The smut in this book is absolutely divine, and very well written. I currently feel like perhaps there are too many harem or potential harem members though. We just aren’t getting enough page time with several characters that seem like they will be in the harem, or maybe they end up being bad guys or something I suppose… There are a good bit of errors, but the character personalities make up for it with all the laughter they cause. Again the cover art really doesn’t have anything to do with the book at all which is an ick to me.

I just.....

I don't even have words for the last act heartbreak. I don't even know what or where to begin. I just.... it was going so well the boys were getting their shit together.

What do I do now

I don't know like what to feel. I've never legit been angry about how a book ended until this one. Like FML

This shit was good but fuck it hurt. I am so mad with the guys they just keep fucking FAILING her.

Ok but seriously this book is good and need the next 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

I had to think about this for a minute because the way the book ends made me feel like I was lost but after I thought about it, I realized you aren’t getting the plot in a “traditional” way, so if you get to wrapped up in the romance and relationships you’ll miss it. Cause I got to the end and was like why wouldn’t she tell us more but then I remembered the conversations and it’s there. I say all that to say don’t ignore the dialogue. As always with Rune’s stories I absolutely love the characters! They’re people I want to know and spend time with and hate that they are fictional cause I want to meet them so badly. The spicy and kink was hot and fun, but it does lead me to my problem with the story and Asura. She’s so horny all the time it feels like she really is just the sex crazed heiress she’s accused of being. Personal as the daughter to The Devil and the future Queen of Hell I would like to see her accomplish more and honestly I would have liked if she stronger just by way of her birth right.

It vexes me a little that she doesn’t have more training as the heir. I mean if the Hellhounds start training while they are so young, you would think she would have to. It’s that little issue that makes this a three star for me. I’m here for her confidence and being unapologetic about her sexuality but I just feel like as a character she could be stronger. I’m not the biggest fan of it taking characters to the last possible moment to find/develop their strength or power.
But hello cliffhanger I’m gonna be impatiently waiting for book 3!

I know it’s a steamy romance but I feel like we’ve barely moved forward with the plot. I don’t want to spoil it but I am disappointed that we don’t have at least a clear idea of something : the bad guys, the end goal, the harem… nothing is clear and it feels like Asura is spending more time sleeping with the guys and making them jealous than anything. Despite the amount of time she spends with them we (and she) know actually very little about them still.

I had such high expectations for her character and so far she’s not really meeting them. I also sometimes felt like I had missed scenes because of the writing style. It felt really confusing at times. However with that surprising (and cruel) ending, I’m intrigued by how the characters will react.

eh

I really wanted to like this series. But all it was, was a bunch of sex. The FMC made zero progress as an adult. She was constantly stuck in the cycle of looking at the MMC’s bodies and thinking about sex with them. There is supposed to be a story line but I’m afraid it got lost in the mix and everything just happened with very little effort on the FMC’s part. I was highly disappointed.

I gave this 2nd book a shot hoping it would be better than the first. All sex and the MFC thinking about how she can more sex. No real growth of her as a person or the characters in general. Not a fan.

Well that went down hill faster than anticipated. Honestly the amount of effort I put into this review may be more than the author out into this book.

We got sex. And a lot of the main character being full of herself. And a ton of confusing dialogue, hard to follow chapters that seemed to jump scenes far too quickly, and 7? Men in love with her? Maybe? There isnt enough basis for this to make sense. If the series is only a few more books how are we going any justice to the rest of the guys? She really has only been with two if them and saw sort of by the end of this book.

Honestly the smut is okay but you end up glossing over it because it's the only thing that happens this whole book. Why are people trying to take her throne? Why did we learn background information on the guys in a three paragraph summary rather than getting those scenes to show they are bonding?

It's an interesting storyline, and something similar but better planned and executed would definitely be for me but as it stands I am ending here.

Not enough story.

This was 70% sex, with barely 30% story.
Which is a massive shame, as it’s an awesome story!

I would so love to read more world building, and more character interaction outside of penises, pussies, and constant objectifying.

It’s not okay when when men behave this way, so why would it be ok for a woman to do so?

It boggles me, when she recognises the false glorifying of male disrespect and using of women, but then uses this to justify her treatment of men… 😵🥱🤷‍♀️

Wow, I can't put these books down, I finished this book so quickly. I loved every second of it, I loved that Jigsaw was letting his walls down. I'm so glad Miya is done with she was so annoying. I think Ledger is my favourite and love that the Devil is such a softie. I am about to start the next book

I don't even know why I still picked up the second book. Frankly it just sex with some specks of plot, character development is almost non existent and the FMC just gets on my nerves.

10% plot 90% smut

Smut: 4/5

This story is purely smut. I’m not like how the storyline should be taken more serious, instead all the FMC thinks about is guys. She makes guys uncomfortable that arnt interested and it just is purely awkward. Wish the story had strong focus on the actual plot. Could have been a good book.

I wanted to like this series. As I mentioned in my review with the first book, the story has potential. However, I won't be continuing the series. There just seemed to be no plot or character development. I guess that's okay if the reader just wants some straight up smut but even that was lacking because it felt over the top at times. Sometimes I even wondered if I was reading the same book as other reviewers.

I don’t want to write a bad review I really don’t because this is someone’s work …but….I feel that this series could’ve had so much potential if the focus wasn’t on the MC getting horny every 2 seconds!! It made the book ridiculous honestly . In some stage one of the guys says “ she’s so wet I can hear it dripping on the carpet “… man no that’s not how it works 😂. Every hound/ man she saw she wanted him , getting horny and all the hounds can smell her need 😳. Then the guys keep calling her slut and whore 😏😏😏… I wonder why . Anyway like I mentioned before it had good potential with the story line but it was overpowered by her behaviour. It felt like it was written poorly and really immature. Plus she suppose to be the next queen , Devils daughter , all mighty and powerful but nothing powerful happen …just that she was horny and needy every 2 seconds .

I probably shouldn't have picked up the second book. I did not finish this one. Honestly, this story has the ability to be fantastic. I'm not sure if the author paid for editing or not, but she should find a new editor. These books are riddled with mistakes that my 12 year old could pick out. It is constant. It doesn't flow good at all. We have things happening and all the sudden, we are in an entirely different place with other things happening. With a good Beta team, ARC team, and a good editor, this book has the potential to be wonderful. But every thing needs to be fixed. I hope this author can get it together. Just take the books down and work on them more.

95% of the book was sex. 3% her harem just being assholes to her 2% actual plot. Awful. I know the end was supposed to be a cliffhanger (it technically is) but all I can think is WTF?!? That's IT?!? I read all those pages and errors (how on earth were they one second eating breakfast and the next they are at school, confusing af) for THAT?!?!?! As someone else said is there another version of this book that everyone else read? Because I find it hard to believe we are all reading the same book.

No good

So many grammatical errors. The plot is nonexistent. Asura plans to gain the throne by spending all her time on her back with anyone that even looks at her. Everything seems to skip around and half the time nothing makes sense.

Very Spicy

This book was all about that spice! After Asura almost died, Kazzy looked at her differently. They all did, Ledger, and Hazen. She survived of course and while the academy was being repaired from the Hell Storm damage, she invited all the hounds to stay at her place. Her brother Killian was friends with them, and Derrick the pissant he is stayed out of their way except for a few whore comments, and Fenric found some new best friends in Hazen, and Jigsaw. Inarian, I’m on the fence with him. He has some serious prejudice against her and refuses to bond his hellhound to her as a reaper, thinking she’s an entitled spoiled brat of a princess, never being told no, never having a nickel to their name, no family whatsoever, never struggled just to survive. He didn’t at all try to get to know her after she graciously invited him to stay at her and her dad’s house while the academy was being repaired. He was there for a month. He never tried to get to know her. We as the reader know she struggled to live in the human world, never being able to make connections or else she risks their life from bad vampires out to get her. He doesn’t now she struggled to live with nothing in the human world, no family name. Not a dime to be had, and he really doesn’t know that she abandoned Hell and the role of Heir to the crown of Hell. She had a vision of hell burning to pieces, castle crumbling, family dying, if she was to be the Queen. She thought Derrick would do a better job and not let Hell fall, but just before Kazzy and his pack of hellhounds (that includes Ledger) found her, she saw the same vision but with Derrick as the king. So she didn’t fight as hard as she’s done with other reapers. Kazhon finally sees a sliver of her strength now that he’s not with Myia the cheater. The Myia that lied to Kazhon about how Asura bullied her. He feels regretful but this book had absolutely zero redemption vibes for him. I’m hoping the next one does because with how he treated her all in the first book, not to mention blackmailing Ledger to stay away from her or have him kicked out of the academy fully knowing he’s an orphan. He only relented because he felt bad she was hurt.
Asura did her best to convince Jigsaw to be her hound and when he finally agreed at the end, it just felt weird. He denied it so long, said some hurtful stuff to her accusing her of being the spoiled princess that Inarian describes her as. We read her point of views and even thought she sassed the remarks off, she did feel a little hurt by it. Jigsaw is a toxic werewolf but we got to read his point of views and other remarks about him that he’s afraid of hurting others when not meaning too. He agreed to quickly for how vehemently he was against it.
Inarian was a jerk to her pretty much the whole of this book. Being petty, beating her up without actually teaching her to better herself. He was approached by her dad to watch out for her while he was away for business and then forces her to fight him in a gymnasium filled with the entire school watching. If she won, he would be her hellhound, and if he won, she would never ask again. He threw the fight. Although it seemed that Asura was doing well, better than she was before, and seemed to hold her own, until the fateful moment letting her see an opening to take him down. It surprised me to read how Eames another of Kazhons hellhound approached him, calling Asura a spineless princess, who sleeps around and is to weak to be the Queen so she ran off to hide in the human world. How he was surprised he fell for her whore ways. Or, if he threw it because of his deal with her dad. So he blackmailed him, if he doesn’t pay, he will tell and Asura would reject him. Inarian being himself, becomes petty and says if she rejects him for it then so be it. Reassuring himself that it’s better if she does and that his inheritance is only a year away. It’s so frustrating reading that.
They all need to be vulnerable with each other. Secrets and hiding will only bring more trouble. Asura being persuaded to go on a date with a Soul Reaper Ryker, liking all the guys, Oziras, Ledger, Hazen and Jigsaw. The secret of them being orphans, Hazen owing money, what if he’s blackmailed because he owes money to the Dean or something to hurt her? Inari agreeing to protect her for money without letting her know that he’s only doing it because her dad paid him too, it’s all going to explode and it’s going to fracture them.
There was some grammar issues, spelling errors, wrong name being used in an obvious conversation between 2 ppl, but it didn’t detract from the story.
The plot was more of an after thought to the clashing of personalities, spicy bedroom and out of the bedroom scenes. She saved Jigsaw from an attack, then she was attacked with Fenric at their house after training, then the end I’m not sure if it’s a vision or something real. I sure hope it’s a vision because Fenric became a favourite of mine. His childhood innocence was perfect.

Okay so i read the series all squished in together so heres my review for all four books as a whole.

Okay so our heroine is Asura. At first she's likeable and a bit bad but eventually i got tired of her always messing things up and running around like a chicken with no head. She doesn't try hard to better herself with only minimal training done that only slightly improves her fighting skills. She spends alot of time having se× with her boyfriends or mending relationships or fixing drama from having so many men on the go. I even got tired of her adding men and i love RH.

The plot is that Asura will be become queen of hell but ran away after seeing a vision of the future. She gets by by stripping. Then her old bff come to collect her and bring her home to her father where we is promptly sent to school. She collects 2 boyfriends in a matter of days and has her eye of 3 more include her old bff.

I DNF at 80%. I'm just tried of reading se× scenes and Asura not winning any fights worth fighting. She's a lost cause to me. She doesn't really deserve to be queen and should pass the Flame on to a hell hound in my opinion

My first issue with this book (and overall series) is the writing style and grammatical errors. This whole series is reminiscent of 2013 Wattpad writing, riddled with inconsistencies, punctuation and sentence structure concerns, and sometimes frustrating needless reputation.

My other concern with the series as a whole is the lack of plot. It feels like the author wrote a book about smut and forgot about a supporting plot line except to mention it every now and then. The reader gets no description of the training scenes, the classes she is taking, the bonding ceremony (!!), and many other minor points.

Sometimes it feels like one character’s personality bleeds over into another and it makes it very jarring to read, especially amongst the men in the harem.

I have already bought the entire series in paperback form, so I will finish the books (mostly because they are incredibly short and easy to read quickly), but if this was a lengthier book with the same issues I stated above, I would DNF.

Hells flame
Second book in the soul reaper academy series starts immediately after the attack on the academy with Circe (Asura’s demon half) in control we find out that Asura is half human and needs Circe to survive birth. With Circe having her own agenda to rule hell asura fights to keep her in the back of her mind. Facing an unknown threat has the devil searching for answer to keep asura safe but as the threat hits close to home we are left wondering if ledger, hazen, jigsaw, and inarian will be enough to help asura while her world falls apart.

I enjoyed reading hells flame! I love the character growth from asura and her four hounds, getting to see more of their personalities and how well they mesh together. The spice is off the charts amazing!! The cliff hanger has left me with anxiety for the third book I will be anxiously waiting to find out what happens and will never be far from mind

I'm very confused by the last chapter? I assume it's not a vision of the future but did happen. Considering the blurb to the next book is she gets the throne?

I just hope little Fen and Killian aren't dead! Derrick can get fucked for all I care.

Okay so she's gunna bond with everyone. I'm excited to see in Inarian's head when they bond. I think it won't be easy for her to bond with him and Jigsaw.

I am curious when she's going to find out Inarian is lying to her about her dad paying him.. that'll be a fun time.

So we have Hazen, Jigsaw, and Ledger currently fucking her. We have Khazon, Inarian, Ozias, and Ryker and probably now Lucifer who do want to fuck her. That is 8, and I think she does end up with 8?? Lol idk.

Also does the whole Satan, Lucifer, Devil, and whatever the other one was, weird anyone else out lol? Like they are not the same people but their names are synonyms.

Man... I still think Khazons ex, Mari or whatever, and her brother Derrick are up to something.

DNF

I don't recommend these books to anyone.....they are not well written, the subject is all over the place and it's hard to know what the author's intention is. I didn't really like the first book but I just kept trying to push forward. This book is not well thought out and it seems to go in circles.....the same characters have the same things to say to each other. And, the sexual parts are ridiculous....this is basically smut that is trying to incorporate a storyline when it should just be about a girl who likes to f**k. That's really the main idea. This is the second book and I'm still not sure what men are apart of her life and which ones are just thrown in for good measure.....but one thing is for sure, she's going to screw them all. They beat her and call it training and call her a whore....it's just all around ridiculous and there are too many good books to waste your time on this series. Skip it!

So I rated this two stars because I dnf'd it at about 47%. I'm super disappointed in the second book compared to the first one. The second book feels like a filler and there's definitely more smut then plot. Also a lot of things are just kind of pushed off to the side. For instance she is supposed to get her tolem but leaves the ceremony but then never addresses it at all with anyone at least up until this point. They're talking about training her but one of the biggest things she needs is her weapon but that's just like pushed aside I don't know it just seems odd. There's also way too much repetitive dialogue about her back and forth especially Eternal dialogue about not wanting to actually date the guys or commit to them because she doesn't know what love is but then also none of the other guys are actually really expressing themselves either. The book definitely does need an editor but I definitely will not be continuing the series which is unfortunate.

a little too angsty for a second book

The hate flirting was a bit too much in this book. Understood for a first book of a trilogy, but two whole books of squabbling? Hard pass. There are men all around, and the will they won’t they, name calling, and back and forth was annoying. I usually like dual POV but it was pretty much men thinking about how the FMC isn’t worthy but they’ll have her anyway. Would it kill us to have a little growth, respect and a faster plot? All the POV thought bubbles felt like they were separate plots, not a different view of the same plot. A plot that was slowwwwwww moving. Either get together or move along. Then the ending. BAM. I was surprised because the whole book was whiny boys and then it was like the author thought “oh, yea. THE plot”

Things are heating up

This series is short but so good. It is about Asura, the princess of hell, she is set to take over the throne after her father but first she has to find her hell hounds and bound with them. She has many prospective partners Khazum(ex best friend), Ledger (his hell hound),Hazum (her hell hound, who’s sweet as can be), Jigsaw (her hell hound, toxic hell hound), Inarian (ice hound, her hell hound), Ozais (son of hades and Persephone), Ryker (fae reaper), and a surprise Lucifer. All these men want her and some admit it and other won’t. The men are all trying to protect her since assassins are trying to kill her.

This book ends on a BRUTAL cliffhanger and I am dying to read the next book.

Wow! I completely devoured the second book in this series. I really enjoyed the way Asura and her Hellhounds had to come together in this book. After the way the first one ended, they all moved into Asuras home and were welcomed by her father and family. They had to live together for a month and found a way to bond.

This book doesn’t have too much of the story of who is trying to hurt Asura, but I think that is coming up. This book really focused on her relationship with Ledger, Hazen and Jigsaw. And while Ledger is a hellhound for a different Reaper, he is falling in love with Asura and protects her as well. And maybe he is a little dominant and jealous while also being turned on with her being with these other men. (Lots of different kinks coming out here and it is delicious.)

There is also a lot of sharing going on in this book and if I’m being honest, this book focuses so much on sex. Lots and lots of sex. And yes, maybe this is a way that Asura bonds with her Hellhounds, so it’s relationship and team building at its finest. And while they try to complain, these men obviously want her just as bad.

I am intrigued because the descriptions of the book say she is going to end up with 8 men. At this point, I think I only count maybe 6 or 7. I’m definitely interested to see where her relationships go, as well as where the story goes in regards to her powers and who is trying to destroy her kingdom.

Well…what can i say? 😅

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with so many sex scenes. Even though i love me some RH and hot sex this was so over the top that I’m actually finishing this series with this book.

Story is good but what is really getting to me is how unfocused the main character is.
She is supposed to be the Queen of Hell but all she does is fucking all her hounds?

Anyway…I am giving this 3 stars just because the story isn’t bad but it just lacks some more development.

I would probably call this a book porn at this point because there isn’t a chapter where there wouldn’t be a sex scene.
