Hermione Granger had been asked — and agreed — to do many absurd things since learning she was a witch, usually involving Harry Potter. This long list included, in no particular order, smuggling baby dragons, being placed unconscious at the bottom of a lake surrounded by merpeople, and traveling back in time to fly an escaped convict to safety on the back of a mythical creature. But returning to a Death Eater-controlled Hogwarts pretending to be Daphne Greengrass may have been the most ridiculous yet.

  “You’re so mad at me that the sound of me saying your name is too aggravating for you?” Hermione snapped.  
“No,” he retorted, sounding just as irritated.
“Because it makes me want to do this.”
They had been standing closer than she realized.  It took him only seconds to do the thing he apparently was trying to avoid, and crash his lips onto hers so suddenly that their teeth clashed.

A great fic ! The writing style is a bit wonky at first? But it gets better and better every chapter. The story is highly engaging and I loved the way the author interpreted Draco's and Hermione's character. I loved them. I just wish the spicy scene wasn't a fade to black 😭

this is like when you go to your favourite restaurant and you order the chocolate fudge cake because the last time you had it, it genuinely changed your life. and then you find out that they changed the recipe and now it's still very very good fudge cake, maybe someone else's favourite, but it's not quite yours

i liked the slow-burn and it's been forever since i've read a closed door (!!!!) fanfic. i think we all could have used a bit more fighting/stakes?

the writing was very strong though!

I liked the premise, but everyone acted out of character. Like even when Hermione wasn't Daphne, she still didn't feel like Hermione. I was expecting some conflict here with her having to interact so closely with Draco (he was a big time jerk to her for the first 6 years of Hogwarts and he basically helped kill Dumbledore, I'm looking for some internal conflict here on this). The other thing was the casual drinking all the characters did. Like y'all are 16 and your drinking/getting drunk every night of school? When are y'all studying? Hermione saying F*ck every other word threw me out of the book too. The plot was kind of lack luster since Hermione's inner monologuing sounded like a drunken robot. It just wasn't enough for me to keep going since apparently all the love scenes are fade to black or none at all (no smut). The whole thing felt like it was written by a 15 year old.

It just wasn't my cup of tea. Others seem to have liked it so maybe it's just me.

A great mix of the Disappearances of Draco Malfoy and Isolation.
This fic was so fun! Hermione pretending to be Daphne Greengrass though was so preposterous as that girl could not fake being anyone else but herself for her life! Draco needed a hug, that boy was going through it.
The ending was a little rushed but overall it gave me what Isolation was lacking.
No smut, extremely slow burn (they kiss for the first time like 70% of the way through!)

I’m on the fence about this fic. I love the first half with Head Girl Hermione polyjuiced as Daphne and Head Boy Draco. We got forced close proximity and soft Draco with “Daphne”. But it felt like Hermione’s mission at Hogwarts was for nothing. She didn’t even find any horcruxes herself and all the Slytherins knew she wasn’t Daphne. It just felt unsatisfying.

This fic had the potential for toxic, deflected Death Eater Draco being overly protective as Hermione goes hunting for horcruxes or order missions, but we got the opposite. Where Hermione just sits around Order Headquarters waiting and pining for Draco.

Also, Theo in this fic was so boring. I needed him to act chaotic with fake Daphne.

The first part was interesting but after Draco's 2nd POV it just felt off for me, couldn't keep connected with the story and all the characters were all over the place,some of them are boring others just feel forced to fit the plot. I think the second part of the story didn't know where to go to reach the end, it feels like a completely different story.

I don't mind slow burn, but I failed to feel a connection between D and H

A Hermione Granger se le había pedido, y aceptado, hacer muchas cosas absurdas desde que se enteró de que era una bruja, generalmente involucrando a Harry Potter. Es una historia que transcure durante la guerra y el séptimo año en Hogwarts, las cosas empiezan en un entorno lento donde recién acababa de pasar la muerte de dumbledore y el trío dorado estaba viendo que hacer más adelante y en quien confiar toda la información que le dio el director a harry sobre los horrocruxes, ellos no tienen que irse de la nada y supongo que eso ayudó a que las cosas avanzarán de mejor manera, la familia de daphne es neutral y no quiere verse inmiscuido supongo que igual que en el canon, ellos solo dan dinero para voldemort, pero este quiere verlos más inmiscuidos así que no ven otra opción más que pedir ayuda a la orden, esto le viene de Perlas a la orden ya que lupin y el trío ya habían pensado en la opción de que un horocrux estuviera en el castillo, así que planean que hermione ocupe el lugar de daphne junto a sus amigos slytherin, es así como hermione pasa meses a lado de daphne aprendiendo todo lo que puede sobre su persona y sus lazos con sus amistades para así poder regresar a Hogwarts, hermione regresa configurada en daphne y empieza a fingir sin saber que los slytherin nunca fueron lo que se imagino y que empezaría a crear lazos con ellos, con theo y su singular forma de ser, con pansy su mejor amiga una chica divertida y jovial con agresividad para defenderse, un coqueto pero atento y caballero blaise zabini y con quien menos lo esperaba su enemigo rival draco malfoy, pasan muchas cosas a lo largo del año, se conocen comparten cuarto de prefectos, hermione puede ver a draco bajo un lente de amistad y sin frivolidad o arrogancia detrás de él, todo eso crea demasiadas emociones para ella, se entera de muchas cosas también, su relación con ron gracias al cielo se evapora como el agua a temperatura alta, cada día se siente más cómoda pero sigue estando añorante de sus amigos, descubre lados de draco que no pensó que existían, se siente atraída a él y él a ella aunque obviamente con sus dudas ya que él nunca se había sentido atraído a su amiga casi hermana daphne Greengrass, pero ese año muchos de sus sentimientos por ella estaban siendo realmente confusos

Las cosas avanzan lentamente y sin más trafico que la amistad y los problemas de la guerra a sus espaldas, pansy y neville empiezan a tener algún tipo de relación, blaise y la dulce luna también quien lo diría, y hermione cada día más cerca de draco y sus sentimientos creciendo por él a cada momento, hasta que las cosas avanzan y en una discusión con los carrow ella los ataca y empiezan a huir juntos, pero ella no puede irse sin astoria y tiene que regresar por ella, draco le promete hacerlo por ella y se separan, ese mismo día él descubre quien era en verdad ella, hermione jane granger y no su amiga de toda la vida daphne, casi siente un alivio al saberlo, pero eso no reemplaza su enojo y molestia ante la mentira, así que ahora se tiene que unir a la orden y convivir con hermione más de lo que el querría, los demás slytherins la perdonan y hermione se siente agradecida por eso, sin evitar una punzada por el hecho de que draco no le habla en días, ella arregla sus problemas con ron y descubre que él está enamorado de susan bones, se siente feliz por él, harry y ginny están felices y juntos, remus y thonks vieron nacer a su hijo teddy, neville y pansy se comprometieron, luna y blaise siguen tan juntos y enamorados como la última vez que los vio, daphne esta en un intermedio con theo y ella aun no sabe que hacer con malfoy y su mal humor, se da cuenta que son los únicos solteros de la casa y no sabe que sentir al respecto, theo le cuenta que los vio en sus Flashbacks porque es un vidente, hermione decide creer y sujetarse a esas esperanzas, pasan muchas cosas mas y por fin empieza a tener un avance, draco y ella estan juntos el final de la guerra se acerca y para la sorpresa de todos harry no está muerto y no fue él quien mato a voldemort si no narciso malfoy
Pasamos al epilogo y pansy y neville se casaron, luna y blaise se irán a recorrer el mundo porque blaise siempre apoyaría a luna en sus descubrimientos y siempre iría detrás de ella, daphne junto a theo y hermione con draco por fin.
Soy pésima para las reseñas así que suelo escribir para mi misma y saber que encontrar cuando regreso a leer mis anotaciones

Full review to come. For now, just know that TWATYTK is genuinely the best fanfiction I have ever read. It has replaced Deathly Hallows for me; you can’t convince me this isn’t canon. I was pleasantly surprised by this book having no spice! It made it even easier to see as the “real” finale because while it was still for mature readers, every scene had a certain plausibility and in-universe grounding to it. Beautiful writing, characterization, and plotting. Truly epic.

3.3-5 stars. I can’t give it four because I had to skim more often than I should have because of the repetition. The constant tea and everyone using each other’s names, especially hermione and Draco. If I’m reading three to six pages of just granger and malfoy, why are they using each other’s name, every other sentence?

That being said this book is very sweet and refreshing, aside from my complaints. I was worried a romance would develop while she was at hogwarts but that doesn’t happen. I like that Ron isn’t a total POS in this and that there are minimal loses to the good side. I love that snape protects Draco and Harry as if he’s taken over for dumbeldore, like in the original. This is a quick and pleasant read.

Okay tbh this was a little underwhelming, I don't think Hermione was written that true to character bc she was literally the worst spy and horrible at impersonating Daphne and I'm just like bruh you know she would be determined to do a A+ job she wouldn't just keep making dumb mistakes like this.

Uh oh I’m back with my Dramione fanfiction. This one was long winded and the chapters went nowhere most of the time but the writing was decent and it kept me entertained enough to finish a 200K+ word fanfic soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m actually still reading this and I don’t usually review fanfics (also do I want to admit I’ve read this on my main? I don’t know. I’m doing it anyway 💀)
But I had to write something as I’m halfway through this because some things are annoying me. And this fic has amazingly positive reviews and comments but… You know how for the first few years of school D was a complete asshole to our girl H (don’t get me wrong. I love Draco. I think he’s one of the best written characters out there and I am a major Dramione fan in general) but you know how he’d bullied her and used the magic world equivalent of the ‘n’ word for her? Yeah? That never gets brought up. Oh the word still comes up and she still acts all affected by it but somehow it’s completely divested from this guy, who she seems to be pining over and has 100% positive feelings towards him like the past never happened and they started off with a blank slate

She acts like another girl who’s been his childhood best friend, and then the reveal happens and he knows she was pretending and then they just… go around each other like all awkward and with her being guilty for it and him being sullen and angry, but the whole reckoning of their traumatic past relationship just… never happens??? What??? (And no one in the comments on the story or the reviews on here mention it??? There’s very few critical reviews and idk maybe you’ll love this story regardless and I’m a total whack job for not loving it)
At no point does she say hey you were shitty to me and I know you’re not a shitty person usually and neither does he go hey I’m sorry for being so awful to you literally a year ago???

Iunno, that and a couple other things are just really getting my goat 🐐 and pulling me out of the immersive experience.
Another reviewer mentioned this too: how much they drink. They’re constantly drinking! All the time! In school! What!? How!? They’re all basically little alcoholic children from the age of fourteen up.

Plus how loose and long the story is overall, I’m finding myself skimming a lot and wondering how much tighter it could have been with a good editor. Anyway, I’m still basically two thirds through so let’s see if this improves going ahead 😬

this is the third 7th year dramione au i've read with draco joining the order so it's getting kind of difficult to differentiate but i did really enjoy this, i'd probably rank it second after the disappearances of draco malfoy buuut if i'd read this one first i might've liked it better? my favourite part was actually before they got together, when she was daphne, as that was really fun, and then it kind of took a long time for them to get together once draco found out it was hermione but this was understandable for how confusing the situation was for him...i think the thing that let me down was that i've read the same 'finally defeating voldemort' segment so many times already that it wasn't what i cared about

If you aren’t a fan of slow burns this fic isn’t for you because holy wow them not officially getting together until like 70% in was ROUGH! Also, I think the story would have benefited from more action; a lot of the second half was a bit boring and hard to get through. But other than that, I really did enjoy the unique plot. Obviously it’s easy for dramione fics, or any fics in general, to become a bit repetitive, but I absolutely loved the whole idea of Hermione pretending to be Daphne. Overall, not my fav, but a good read if you want something new! (side note: Daphne is 100% a BLONDE and it really got on my nerves every time the author referred to her as a brunette lol)

3.75 almost 4 stars, purely because I wanted more… Dramione out of this. Great writing and story telling, original plot! However, I’m not sure I liked the Draco/Daphne scenes mostly cause I wanted to see Draco knowing he was falling for Hermione instead. And also wanted more of them once they reveal their feelings for each other. I also didn’t know there wasn’t any smut so was disappointed but that one is totally on me!!! Overall it was a good read.

I loved the idea of this fic. It lacked a bit on the Dramione, but made up for it in everything else. The only thing I didn’t love was that the ending felt very rushed, and there wasn’t really a “battle”. Would have liked a bit more Dramione scenes with hermione as herself, but the Hogwarts aspect was amazing.
I LOVE the slytherins and their characterizations, Theo as a Seer is amazing, along with bluna and pansville. My fave ships 😭😭
