My grandma’s dying wish is to see me married. That’s kind of hard when my idea of commitment is finishing a TV series. So I organize a fake wedding to Jordan Boone. I’ll be the wish grantor and keep my freedom. Do I know my fake husband? Barely. We played together as children since our grandmothers were best friends, so I’m grateful he’s willing to go along with my wild idea. Except someone (ahem, Mimi Boone) interferes, and apparently we’ve been married for real. My very real hunk of a husband has grown up to be a fiiiine man. That still isn’t enough for me to want to be trapped in a marriage. Undoing it should be easy. It will be easy. Just as soon as I get this inheritance mess straightened out…
Jordan My fake wife is vivacious, beautiful, and wants to get away from me as fast as possible. I can’t blame her when the feeling is mutual. I don’t like being manipulated. A quickie divorce would be the obvious answer, but then Tuesday finds out she can’t inherit her grandparents’ farm without me. What kind of guy would I be if I walked away? And when Tuesday moves in with me while I renovate my cousin’s house…playing house together isn’t near as bad as I imagined. What happens if I’m never ready to let her go?
✨"Mack's neighbor told me that Tuesdays like that don't come around every day. And she was right. You're one of a kind, Tuesday. And I'm glad you're mine."✨
✨"You think it was a hardship for me to kiss you?" "Well..." He shook his head. "I'll buy you a mirror as a wedding present. That way, you can see what I see."✨
I’m OBSESSED with this series!! I literally loved this book SO much! (Ik I’ve said this about every book in the series but they’re all so amazing)
Tuesday & Jordan are hilarious together and I LOVED the whole marriage thing and Mimi’s involvement—literally so funny!!😂
I also love seeing all the characters from all the books together, it’s the best feeling!
I’m so sad this series is over!! Definitely never going to forget about these characters.. this series is absolutely added to my favorites list and I’ll miss them all so much🥲
Also Mack jr was a hilarious addition to this story😂🐾
25% in and I’m bowing out. The characters’ behavior and reactions aren’t natural.
For instance, when Jordan confronts Tuesday, he repeats, “What do you have to say for yourself?” That’s just weird. First of all, read the room, buddy. She obviously doesn’t feel guilty, based on her demeanor now and the reaction she gave you in the mall earlier. You need to reevaluate the situation based on your new information. She’s not acting sheepish and she likes you. So you should approach her with, “Tuesday, you told me that we had been fake-married, but I found out it was real. Did you know that?”
Okay, but even if Jordan HAD been angry and demanding to her, Tuesday wouldn’t be all cheerful and thinking it was because she hugged him. No, she would be surprised, upset and taken aback. She’d be defensive because he had taken a complete 180 from how he was in the mall earlier. But she didn’t react that way. It was weird.
Then when he approaches her about her sleeping in her car (something that requires finesse if you want to avoid her feeling defensive), he angrily says to her, “What do you think you’re doing?” She asked why he’s mad at her and he says, “[I’m mad] because my wife has been sleeping in a car.” Really? What a caveman. Maybe, possibly, there’s a time for playing the overprotective alpha-hole card (still debatable), but never when it’s directed at the girl, and not when you are complete strangers and she’s already feeling vulnerable and pitiful. It was such a wrong move. I’m appalled.
I have a really hard time reading books where the characters don’t act in ways that are natural or expected. It detracts from the experience and totally pulls me out of the book.
(Also- the premise requires a huge suspension of belief, that a granddaughter (Tuesday) would go to those lengths in the first place, and that Mimi (Jordan’s grandma) would connive and manipulate someone she loves (Jordan) into that situation. It was completely absurd.)
This book was not for me. I felt like the characters had no chemistry. I simply could believe a man with a J name, who uses 4 in 1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and shower cleaner, and can’t communicate is attractive. A lot of the jokes were serving facebook mom and boomer humor core despite the main characters being gen z and millennial cuspers. They do not communicate anything and get annoyed by what they assumed the other had been thinking. I feel like this would be a great book if you are the target audience, but I most definitely am not. "You’ve made everything so much more colorful in my life. I didn’t know what was missing until you came along."
This book was brilliant! I can't begin to tell you how much I loved it! The sense of humour of both Jordan & Tuesday was freaking amazing. The way these two understood each other and were able to make any situation turn funny was fantastic. I fell in love with the story because of the witty dialogues, engaging writing, funny banter, a palpable chemistry and amazingly developed side characters. I laughed so much while reading every chapter and my heart just feels happy. This book was un-put-downable, swoon-worthy and just overall such a light hearted read. I can't wait to continue with the series. Carina Taylor's writing style has me hooked, I can't remember that last time I laughed so much while reading a romance book, seriously it was so freaking good. If you're in a bad mood you should definitely pick this up because if you want to have a good laugh and escape reality, you'll probably enjoy this too!
The continuity seemed off a few times (like literally had to go back and reread pages because it contradicted itself) so that wasn’t great. But it was free and entertaining enough so 🤷🏼♀️
Carina Taylor’s latest rom-com is sure to make readers crack up! When meddling grandmothers get together to pair up their grandkids in a marriage of inconvenience. What started as a way to honor a dying relative’s wishes quickly turns into a lifelong commitment for Tuesday and Jordan Boone. As they navigate their sticky situation, they also deal with real-life problems like rent, homelessness, and needy family members. As Tuesday and Jordan grow closer, their attraction grows. Can these two make it work, or will they need to file for a divorce? I really enjoyed this story and I had a smile on my face the whole time! They are super cute and I can’t wait for you all to meet them! Perfect for fans of The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams or people who have loved Carina Taylor’s other works!
Tuesdays Like That is a very cute romance. I enjoyed the characters and their fake-turned-real marriage. I recommend this book and look forward to more by this author.
This was super cute! I really enjoyed it and enjoyed Tuesday and Jordan's story. After being tricked into marriage, the two soon realize how much fun they have together. They had some fun banter and enjoyed giving each other a hard time. I thought they had a nice relationship and it was just an enjoyable story to get lost in for an afternoon. Light, fun and swoony...what's not to love?
The next in the Love Like That series, Tuesdays like That brings us Jordan Boone’s story! Tuesday’s grandmother’s dying wish is to see her married, preferably to one of their family friends, the Boones. A fake wedding with Jordan Boone will both satisfy her grandmother and keep her freedom. With their grandmothers being best friends, they knew each other as children, so Jordan is willing to play along. Except someone, like Mimi Boone, interferes, and suddenly Tuesday is actually married to Jordan. While neither are excited about being tricked, there are issues with Tuesday inheriting her grandparents’ farm and so they stay married for a little longer. But with more time and proximity, will they be ready when it is time to part ways? I love the Boone cousins, they are hilarious! So I am so excited as we get to see more into each of their lives and stories. Tuesday was exuberant and full of life. She was still trying to figure out her life still and had the rug pulled out from under her because of her grandmother and Mimi. I appreciated her tenacity and how hard she worked. She was trying to become more independent and figure out her life. Jordan was very sweet. A bit overprotective, but I did enjoy his narration! Honestly though, they were not my favorite of the main characters in this series. I just could not get into it as much as I had hoped. I was not as invested in them as I have been with some of the other characters. But it was nice to get some more insight into the family and the story was quite sweet. I enjoyed reading it, but it did take me a bit longer to finish. However, I do think that most people who enjoy rom-coms will enjoy this one! It is a clean contemporary rom-com, that is in a series, but I do not think it is necessary to read the others in the series, though I would recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
Contains: some mild language, kisses. I hated how manipulative and deceptive Mimi was. I really wish she had learned her lesson. There were a lot of confusing things about this book: intermixing divorce with annulment, the fact that Tuesday never signed anything, and the fact that they had to look for relatives for the inheritance and then were going to auction the house when Aggie had living children. Sometimes authors try to hard to get the comedy in rom com this was one of those like Jordan gluing himself to the wall and then Tuesday getting herself stuck in a room. Also, I don’t know much about construction but it seems wrong to cut down the door. Wouldn’t one try taking the hinges out first?
Other than that Jordan was VERY possessive (almost to the point of abusive) he kept telling Tuesday she couldn’t do things. He also got angry whenever other men talked to her. That is not healthy!
Thank you @carinataylorauthor for letting me read an e-arc of your next release!!
I loved being back with the Boone family and all their crazy fun. Mimi had upped her nefarious antics and I just had a huge smile on my face reading this book.
For all my fellow introverts, reading Tuesday’s story you will definitely make you tired (but not in a bad way). She is a nonstop talker, ball of fun, and somehow manages to get herself into the most bizarre issues. I couldn’t help but laugh.
With a character that is so comedic, I sometimes think the romance/chemistry can get lost in the silliness, but not here! Carina Taylor does an amazing job at bringing the laughs and then hitting you with the chemistry!
Jordan is the calm in the storm that is Tuesday. He brings her back to earth, but also enjoys the joy and laughter she brings to his life. It was the perfect balance.
Jordan and Tuesday were just the darn cutest. They didn't have a conventional relationship and it was nice to see them work through it. Jordan was so protective of Tuesday and it was adorable. Mac Jr was cute and I'm glad he was able to stick around. Grandma Aggie was a sneaky lady. Her and Mimi. I didn't think Carina could do better than Mac but she came close enough with Jordan. I received an early copy in exchange for an review.
Carina Taylor books are just so cute and fun. The Boone family is crazy. I have a love/hate relationship with Mimi bc she’s hilarious but she’s always interfering and this book was a prime case of her manipulating the MCs and then acting like it isn’t a big deal. But I love Jordan and Tuesday (such a unique name for a unique personality) the dog! They were so cute together! I need to read more of this authors books, they always make me smile 🥰
I liked the idea of the story but the execution was not quite there. I felt the writing was too loose. I can’t quite describe it but it just felt like there wasn’t enough substance. The characters are more caricatures than real human beings. And it seem to rely too much on stereotypes. Jordan was jealous, but it never felt real. It felt very forced. This book was fine but I would not recommend it. There are other books that are better.
This is the book that started it all, when I saw the blurb and cover for this book I immediately wanted to read it, but I have to start a series at the beginning and boy, am I so glad I did. I have so enjoyed every book in this series and this one is probably a favorite, if I had to pick. I decided to do another review with quotes from the book, because once again, they just sell it on their own. 👌🏻🤍
💛 "You think it was a hardship for me to kiss you?" "Well…" He shook his head. "I’ll buy you a mirror as a wedding present. That way, you can see what I see."
🤍 What am I going to tell my future girlfriends when they ask about my past relationships?" I pretended to think about it. "I can be the girl that you used to know." "Perfect. Am I heartbroken?" "Devastated. And you have a thing for redheads now." "Hmm, that might not be far from the truth."
💛 Boring work. Boring day. Practically committed bigotry. All in a day's work.
🤍 If this was an accident, then the Mona Lisa was a doodle.
💛 "All right. So, I’m not as fun as I thought I was. I’m going to have to do some soul searching now. Look what you’ve done. You’ve thrown me into a mid-life crisis, and I’m not even in my thirties yet,"
🤍 And when I was mad, I could never formulate a good response. Basically, I sucked at arguments. I always won them later, though, in my head.
💛 "You can’t trick people into marriage and expect to get a grandbaby out of the deal."
🤍 "I've decided I won't kill you in your sleep." And that was how I fell asleep with a big grin on my face.
💛 "Tuesday, I don't want you to be just some girl I used to know. I want you to be someone I know now and every day for the rest of our lives."
So, in other words, if you’d like a funny, swoony, fake marriage “accidentally” turned real, meddling grandmas, age-gap, forced-proximity read with home renovations, a horse of a dog, and the sweetest HEA, grab Tuesday and Jordan’s story. You’re welcome. 😉💛
There is light swearing and innuendo in this book, a little different than the first three in the series, but it is still definitely a sweet read.
Qué cosa tan divertida, entretenida, tierna y bonita.
such a cute & fun fluffy read. i loved how realistic the arguments & discussions between Tuesday & Jordan were—they talked through it all & we’re friends till the end.
SPICE/ none! Clean!
LANGUAGE: very mild language few words throughout the book
TROPES: “fake” marriage, grief, child hood friends to lovers
I needed a book like this today. It was light, easy reading that made me smile and left me feeling good. Jordan and Tuesday are fun and I liked them both so much. I'm a moody reader and this book hit my sweet spot. I love this series and this author!
can’t believe they brushed over his possessiveness like that stuff needed a proper discussion 😒😒 anyways, did a good job at keeping my heart warm on a cold night i guess (it’s the dead of summer)
I just live reading Carina Taylor's novels. They are light hearted and fun reads. Take a break from reality and read these for they are sure to put a smile on your face.
Tuesday Appleton fakes a marriage to Jordan Boone, to grant her dying grandmother a last wish - she wished to see one of her grandkids married to a Boone. Over the course of the next couple of days/weeks Tuesday and Jordan continue to run into each other.
Quick Summary ✨ FMC: Tuesday Appleton ✨ MMC: Jordan Boone ✨ Dual POV ✨ Fake Marriage/Marriage of Convenience ✨ Slight age gap (~7 years) ✨ Can be read as standalone
💭THOUGHTS💭
Likes • Quick Read • The Dog - Mack Jr • The neighbors
Dislikes • Pretty much every character • Lack of communication 😒 • Age Gap • No Chemistry • Naive FMC • Unrealistic • Tuesday - i don't get her character • Where is the damn will??? • Randomly possessive MMC • Plot holes • Repetitive points • Needs a little more editing
This book started out really well, and I liked the tones of the first time we got each POV, however, something changed with how the character were written, and I wasn't a fan. They became different characters. It was almost as though once Tuesday's age was stated her character started to act more and more naive. Often times authors are trying to get their characters to come across as being really friendly, but end up making them come across as really naive, and that may have happened here.
Jordan's character stared off really great and seemed like an understanding guy, and I was really liking him but then he became very possessive suddenly and that was just an ick for me.
There were just so many things that confused me about this book and that didn't really make sense. I just couldn't get past the ridiculous and confusing plot points. Even the characters were dumb and ridiculous.
“If you are going to pretend to marry someone, it’s usually best to pick a polite kisser.”
Tuesday Appleton just wanted to make her dying grandmother’s dream of Tuesday marrying one of her best friend’s grandsons come true. So Mimi asked her grandson, Jordan Boone, if he would please pretend to marry Tuesday. He agreed, because what could it hurt? Quite a bit, he finds out when he gets a real marriage certificate in mail a few weeks later! Suddenly, Mimi isn’t answering his calls, and he has to find wife and figure out how to get an annulment or divorce. But Tuesdays like that don’t come along every day…
I loved this book! I think it’s right up there with Neighbors Like That as my favorites in the A Love Like That series. Tuesday is such a fun character! And it’s always fun to see Mimi and some of the Boone cousins again! I laughed often while reading this book!
Content note: mild language
I received a complementary copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book reminds me of really bad and cringey stuffs I used to read on Wattpad when I was a teenager. It is so unrealistic and childish to the point that i have to really force myself to finish the book. The characters are super bland I don't care if they end up together, or suddenly turned into a zombie or die.
Characters: 1. Tuesday: I kid you not the heroine's name is Tuesday.
"Hi, my name is Tuesday and I have a stupid name. I am a ditzy airhead and everryyyoneee likes me even the neighborhood rabid dog because I'm so extroverted and likable"🤢🤢
2. Jordan: The hero has the personality of a cardboard box. I don't have anything more to say about him, either good or bad.
3. Mimi and Aggie: The grandmothers/Manipulators. They are not funny or appealing to me in any way.
Conclusion: I don't know how books like this gets published. It was BAD.
