Maven of Mayhem #1

The Secrets We Keep

Rate this book
9 hours, 9 minutes

Contract killer. Adopted daughter. Sarcastic soul.

There are a lot of things to call me, but most just call me Rogue.

A name feared by the truly unforgivable who betray The Gambit, our leader King, and our extensive criminal network. After all, I may run the hitmen for the crew, but I personally only take on those who deserve it. I do have some morals left.

When I’m tracked down by a security team that wants me on their side, it’s an easy choice to unite and attempt to take down their corrupt bosses, and mine, too. So long as they’re willing to help me in return.

Let’s just hope we don’t become the pawns in a game none of us were prepared to play.

'The Secrets We Keep'is a full-length novel and is book one of a planned trilogy in the Maven of Mayhem series. It ends on a cliffhanger so please be forewarned. This is a contemporary reverse harem romance/suspense series, meaning our leading lady has three or more love interests and does not have to choose between them to find her happily ever after. This book contains violence and past trauma in flashbacks as well as some steamy scenes.

dnf @ 32%

I finally had the sense to dnf instead of going on to suffering till the end of the book hoping that it would get better.

The heroine is this badass assassin that never leaves any clues, is so hard she almost doesn't smile, lives by a code and doesn't trust easy. This is what is told to us in the first 20%.

Then all of a sudden the heroine left a clue, trust some random people she just met enough to take them to her home that she usually keeps hidden, talks about how hot and sexy the guys are every minute, gets injured on the job and I bet many many more .

Where is the heroine that was so badass eh, where did she go. Why is she acting like a twat all of a sudden eh.

Not to mention that when the guys are describing their friends they talk as if they want to have sex with each other.
"His hair is so silky and wavy, eyes that sparkle like twilight, smile that make girls wet, arms so thick it could double as a tree trunk."

I'm all for that if this book had MM elements but it doesn't.

I give up.

Amazing first book, I need more!

This book is so good!

I mean it starts off with a stabbing, so you know I'm in with my penchant for violence and pointy weapons.

Rogue is everything I've ever wanted in a heroine, I want to be her or date her. Her style and clothes are everything to me, she has an amazing sense of humour with a side helping of nerd which I adored. She's kind and caring despite her shitty life and upbringing...I love her!

The guys, it's a good job it's a why choose because I can't, I normally play favourites but I can't pick one. These guys are completely gorgeous... their personalities, their humour and their interactions with each other and Rogue were spot on. They literally leapt off the page, (sometimes I forget who is who with the guys in book one of an RH series) taunting me with their hot bodies and amazing personalities. I've called dibs on them all!

This book had an amazing storyline, with plenty of action (I'll never say no to more killing though just FYI), the best sprinkling of humour and light relief and amazing characters which I've mentioned.

For a debut book, Mila Sin has knocked it out of the park. I'm addicted, I want more, I need more. Ends on a cliffie...bad Mila! But it was worth it. Can't wait for book two. I mean, seriously are we there yet?

Holy.... where do I begin.

Mila Sin managed to put out an incredible debut novel that is unlike any other RH you've ever read. Sure, it has all the core ingredients, but what Mila managed to do was flip the tables, create unforgettable characters, throw in steam, awesome chemistry, unexpected twists and turns, and write this masterpiece.

Character development: 10/5!
My biggest focus when reading a book is character development. Mila knocked it out of the park with the aspect alone.
She created the perfect badass heroine, and four really unique guys, each with their own personalities, quirks and backstories. But what I loved most of all is how Rogue had a different relationship with each of the guys.

- Lucas, the one I've claimed, is the funny guy, and one you cannot help but fall in love with.
- Han, the pretty boy... while he can pack a punch, I love that he has a soft side to him, especially when it comes to Rogue.
- Noah, the leader of the group. Everyone needs that serious guy in their life and Noah's the guy that keeps this ship running. Don't be fooled by his guarded personality though, mark my words, you'll be routing for this guy big time.
- Jacob. Lol, I suspect he will be a fan favorite. Here you have your tattooed dominant bad boy, that's a genius when it comes to all things tech, and quickly turns into a monster in bed. I'm almost hoping to see Lucas and Jacob getting... closer, if ya know what I mean ;) I had a word with Rogue, and she said it's okay.
- Rogue. I saved the best for last because Rogue is such a dynamic character, and the author deserves some serious recognition for pulling this off. It's not easy creating the perfect badass FMC. Mila has this unique ability to throw in subtle bits of information that humanizes the badass heroine, and I cannot tell you how incredible they were. Very quickly, I found myself actively routing for her.

The Secrets we keep has action, suspense, steam, and it's nicely complimented with wit and humor.
What I can guarantee is that after reading this book, you'll be begging for more!

What do I say about this book? 😍

We start with violence and end with more violence, throw in some sexy scenes and plenty of sarcasm along the way, and bam, you have yourself an incredible book that is unlike any other I have read and we all know I have read plenty.

The heroine is truly unique with her personality, strength, and style (really her style is top notch and I wish I could be like her, give me that car and those tattoos cause damn). The men are all immediately distinguishable from each other which is hard to do in the first section of a book but they all stand out with their different personalities and interests also how they interact with Rogue which is a part thay really pulls you in.

You'll be addicted to all of them from the start but I will mention that Tanaka is my main boo and no one is taking him from me. 🤣 As for her harem, I don't think I can choose as they all fill a gap that Rogue needs and I appreciate their effort to help her in her endeavors.

I truly love what Mila did here and what she continues to do in book 2. She takes her Beta/Alpha readers advice to heart and strives to create the best story for her readers.

Keep an eye on this one, she is going to do amazing things. 💚💚

Wow....just wow!

Wow!! What a read, what a knockout.... This book was just amazing!
Mila Sin wields the English language like a sword...so precise and deadly! It’s very well written without lots of repeated phrases or scenarios meaning the book holds your attention throughout without feeling like something you’ve read before.
The characters are very well thought out and gel together seamlessly, all fulfilling different role types that bring their own gold to the story.
Rogue is a brilliant fmc....a real bad arse on par with the subtle craziness of Hannafords Lips and Featherstones Luna....you can’t help but love her!

Honestly this book is a 10/10 and I’m sad that number 2 isn’t out yet....that would be my only criticism - this book ends on a serious cliffhanger that quietly makes you imagine throttling Ms Sin!!

Definitely worth a read, you’ll be missing out if you don’t!

*I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book in exchange of honest review*

This is an spectacular first RH book in the series with a great storyline and strong likable main characters. It was so much more good than what I expected.

Rogue or Ivy is the main heroine who is an assassin and no pushover. I love a strong independent heroine and Rogue is exactly that and more. I loved her and can't wait to read more about her.

The guys Han , Lucas , Noah and Jacob are exactly what our MC needs and so perfect for her. They all are different in personality but believe each other to be a family. I loved all the guys and I'm so excited to see their relationship evolve with Ivy.

This book got me hooked from the start and the ending left me reeling for book two!! I want to read it so badly.

*Overall: 5/5*
So much FUN to read. The story is so immersive and the world is so twisty, you can’t help but tell yourself “one more chapter” until you’re holding the book (phone, tablet, e-reader, computer..) not knowing where the hours went. I can’t wait for you to just jump in and see for yourself!

*Characters: 6/5*
Mila's characters are so SINCERE. Such wonderful and distinct characters, such perfect details to make them pop… You could drop this group of people in any genre and I would love them.

*Story development: 5/5*
Can’t have the sweet without a little bitter, right? For as loveable as the characters are, they have all been through some stuff. Not really triggering stuff, but still. By starting where you do in the story, I know you’ll be hooked by the end of the first chapter and it won’t let you go all the way through to the end (and beyond, maybe.)

*Writing quality: 5/5*
Mila has obviously spent hours making this a perfect world, but she has spent as much time making sure the delivery is as close to perfect as you would hope. The writing is clear, grammar is flawless, and the intentional tone throughout will keep you immersed. You will not stumble upon misspellings to pull you out of their world.

Who should read this: Are you looking for a kickass, rockabilly heroine who finds herself in a house with some kickass, sweet, sexy men? You won’t find another like this one. This is for the +18 crowd, so expect a delicious fast/medium burn ride.

Did I receive an early copy? Yes. Do I love it enough to purchase it anyway and look forward to their future antics? You bet your sarcastic coffee mugs I DO.

This book has literally left me speechless and probably hands down one of the best debut novels I've ever had the pleasure of reading seriously. And don't even get me started on the cliffhanger *sigh* it couldn't have ended any better and now I'm anxiously awaiting book 2.

Rogue is unlike any assassin you've ever read about which endears me to her all that much more. She's just the perfect mix of a caring, sarcastic, loving and funny girl you've loved to get to know while at the same time could kick *ss in a nano second. And the guys are just wow... I don't think I've ever read about the perfect group of guys before until now. I mean they are literally everything I could ever want or need.

Perhaps the thing I've loved the most while reading was that there was no miscommunication or unnecessary drama. Everything just flowed nicely and their relationship was almost effortless it seems. It's a nice change of pace and something I didn't even know I wanted until I started reading. If you haven't given this book a shot I say go for it because I promise you'll be surprised in the best possible way.

The Secrets We Keep
Mila Sin

This book throws you in at the deep end from the start! I adore Rogue, her snark and sass and her little quirks really connected me to her and I was routing for her the whole time. I love that she's a fierce FMC, who doesn't need the guys to get s**t done! She can take care of business and it's great to see her start to trust them with helping her.

Speaking of the guys...🔥🔥🔥 I must confess I've got a hankering for a Jacob and Lucas manwich 🤤 I love Lucas' personality, his jokes and turn of phrase is wonderful. Jacob is every woman's hot inked up fantasy, and I really liked the juxtaposition of his looks with his serious nerdy nature. Han is a bit of a quiet caring type, you know with a penchant for weapons, and I'm desperate to see where certain elements of his story goes. And Noah, the stoic leader that's so busy looking after everyone else he gets left behind.

Secrets is wonderfully written with so many epic one liners my copy was pink with highlights! If you love RH, badass FMC and aren't afraid of the dark side you NEED this book in your life!

This book is sooo good!!

Our FMC is so badass in the most womanly (is that a word) way! She’s not your typical heroine! She will get stabby!

This is a reverse harem a new thank goodness because I can’t really choose though Jacob has been licked!

This story will keep you guessing at what’s coming next!

Oh, boy. Here we go again.

Honestly? I was really excited for this book. Saw the multitude of five-star reviews, a badass heroine who's totally okay with a little blood and has a penchant for stabby weapons, and good technical writing. Sign me the fuck up.

I get about 15% in and I'm pretty interested. The novel and characters are written well. Somewhat. I'm confused as to why the guys are describing their friends as if they want to have sex with each other. At this point, I'm seeing no mention of MM themes, but these guys are definitely sounding like they want to get it on.

"His hair is so silky and wavy, eyes that sparkle like twilight, smile that make girls wet, arms so thick it could double as a tree trunk."

It's jarring and pulls you out of the book itself because you're not really aware of the character's sexuality, but have an idea that most of them are heterosexual and only into women. Not saying that being queer is a bad thing, but it's off-putting when you're expecting to read something from a cisgender, heterosexual male's perspective on two different occasions and are instead gifted with a love poem about how their best friends are hot as fuck. Even though two of the friends do get it on later, which is totally and completely fine, they aren't the two writing the love poems.

But whatever. Who cares, am I right?

I'm personally quite a quick reader. I devour books I like and put off books I don't, so a good measure of whether I actually like a book, whether it's just addicting but shitty or boring writing, is when I have to take multiple pauses or days in between reading because I just can't really handle inhaling the novel all in one go.

I found myself in this position while reading The Secrets We Keep. What my real issue with this novel is the same thing I've encountered on so many books, specifically reverse harem, here on Goodreads. Wonderfully prefaced plots, good ideas, and poor execution.

The characters are actually really genuine. I'm generally not the easiest person to get along with, and I probably wouldn't be the best person to hang with this group in real life, but I can see the authenticity. Mila Sin has made the characters vulnerable in a way I haven't read before, and I appreciated it.

But it's just so...descriptive. There are too many inner monologues. The writing is too wordy and it makes it boring to read. Take the example I listed earlier - it's just too unnecessarily in depth. You don't even need to all-out describe a character in one go, you can reveal different features over time. This keeps the mystery going and the reader interested. I feel like Sin could have built on a lot of tension by revealing pieces of her characters, emotionally or physically, over time instead of all at once. It's uncommon to find this sort of development in RH - here, I was given the roles of each character in the group almost immediately as well as how they look like and act.

As part of some more personal preferences, I wish Sin built on Han and Rogue's relationship more often. It would have built not only more of their relationship but their characters as a whole.

The book sort of devolved into sex and action, and I found myself put-out because I actually really enjoyed the characters as people and their authenticity, even though I still couldn't connect to them very well. Combined with the way the book was paced and how we missed out on a lot of character interaction and banter, I again, not only found myself bored but kind of miffed.

I really wanted to enjoy this novel, but unfortunately couldn't. Two stars.

Stupefied...This is a debut?

How can this be a debut novel? The writing is too good! I'm struggling to believe this is Mila Sin's first release???

At first it was the cover that drew me in. Then the blurb. I love female assassin (go figure). But it was the fantastic storyline, likeable characters, sweet alpha Heroes and beautifully strong fmc that kept me up reading this story late into the night (morning technically).

Rogue (Ivy) is our fmc and in a word, she is awesome. She is a beautiful mix of feminine and badass. Hopeful and broken. Skeptical and trusting. All of her pieces just WORKED in making her an fmc you'll be rooting for by page one.

The guys in this book are a delightful mix. We have the mischievous one, Lucas, who is hilarious (for real, some of his one liners are GOLD and will have you grinning and chuckling out loud). I think more than half of my highlights in the book are things he says.

Han is a sweetheart from her past who never forgot her. Jacob is a gorgeous tattooed Brit who handles the tech and brings the SEXY sweet dominance. Noah is team lead who has been burned in the past but quickly finds himself intrigued and obsessing over their new Assassin.

There is quite a bit going on in this story of crime lords and corruption. Lots of players to be monitored and dealt with, and lots of ways things could end badly for our group but now that they have found each other they are proving to be a force and I can't wait to see what happens next in book two!

Mila Sin knocked it out of the park with this debut novel, I was completely enraptured from start to finish. Not impressed with that cliffhanger though, I was in shock that it was already the last page.

Our FMC, Rogue, is a complete bada$$ and I love her unique style and her personality. She doesn’t take anyone’s sh!t but she is also caring and has some strong morals (yes, even for an assassin). I really enjoyed her POV and that we were able to experience her feelings and reasonings for why she does certain things.

Our guys, let’s just say that the author wrote a perfect group. Each has their own unique personality that you can’t help but love. I also loved their POVs and am looking forward to learning more about them. Especially looking forward to how their relationship with Rogue and within their team will develop. As a side, those scenes, yes.

This book had an interesting plot, with new tidbits, side plots and conflicts to add even more action. It wasn’t all action though, even the more relaxed scenes were written well and helped develop the story and characters.

I can’t wait for the second book in this series and for future Mila Sin books.

An hitwoman and four gorgeous male working in the same field... Do you know what this means.. Receipe for a great book.

I loved the originality of Rogue and how she met Noah, Lucas, Jacob and Han.
She was raised by an awful person named King, she is now her assassin and want one thing.. To get rid of him.
The storyline has a lot to offer and I can't wait to unwrap it

We don't have to wait long for them to meet and became a team and oh my, their dynamics is incredible, you wouldn't think they met Rogue recently, she fits so much in between them.
You can see then have some relax in betwwen missions.
Lucas is playful, Noah is stoic and poker face but I am sure Rogue will make him have a lot more facial expression. Jacob is a tattooed nerd and wow what a great combo and let's not forgot the sweet Han.

There is a lot of things we ignore about King, The Ganbit.

Secrets, we all have them, 4 sexy men 1 mama bear. And 1 assassin that has always been alone. They want to help but she has to keep some things secret to keep everyone safe from 1 horrendous man.

this is a Sin-Santional, Sintilating, book. It reaches the full "Gambit" of emotions. Who doesn't love a good Assignation?
The Secrets we keep: maven of mayhem is Mila Sin's debut novel and won't be her last. Look for book 2 in this series.

This book had me hooked from the very first page!

I immediately fell in love with Rogue. She is bad a**, but caring and loving at the same time.

I thought this book had a perfect balance of action mixed with heat/passion and romance. It kept me wanting to turn the page to see what was going to happen next.

I can't wait to continue Rogue's story and see the development with the guys...Noah, Lucas, Han, and Jacob. I love how they each have different personalities but mix perfectly with Rogue.

Definitely recommend this book!!!!

I was a beta reader for this book, and even the first draft got me hooked.
Since then, it never stopped getting better, and now (even after 5 or 6 reads) I get still get surprised by the humour, the intrigue and the depth in the characters' construction.
If you like mysteries, sexy times and sarcasm, read this book, you will not be disapointed.

This one has been on my TBR pile since it came out, and with so many of my book buddies recommending it, I had to move it up the list!

The FMC!
Rogue is a badass female assassin - though not by choice - she excels at everything she does. She has to; otherwise, the sadistic King, who took her in and "trained" her, will kill her and her sister. So while assassin was never her career goal, she has become the best at what she does. She's just biding her time until her contract ends and she can start her life.

Enter the guys who are trying to take down King's criminal empire as well as their corrupt security company. They all must work together to come out of this alive. Plus, on the way, they can have some hot as hell sexy, fun times. 😜

The Guys!
Han, Lucas, Noah, & Jacob. Honestly, it's hard to choose a fave out of these guys - but if I had to, I'm putting Han at the top so far 😄

It's always interesting to see how the harem forms in a contemporary RH as there's a bit more of a real-world vibe than the trope of fated mates (don't get me wrong, love a fated mate!) These guys have been a team and chosen family before the story begins, and Mila has done a fantastic job at tying them together as a perfect unit. There's still the drama of how things will work, but no infighting between the guys. I love how they put Rogue first!

The Smut!
Some hot moments in this one! Some one-on-one action as well as group fun time! The hint of MM to come in the future. Honestly, this was hot as hell, and I cannot wait to see how this grows as they get closer.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars

The Secrets We Keep is an entertaining debut with a mix of action, suspense, humor, romance, and steam. I was surprised at how much lightness it felt like this book has despite some of the action and suspenseful scenes involving murder and plotting against gang leaders. The assassin FMC, Rogue, has a traumatic background but outside of her assassin work, she's a good person (you have to read it to get it, I know it sounds crazy). I enjoyed the many facets of her personality.

I also love the four men that she ends up working with and their differing personalities. They're all good men and good fits for Rogue, plus they treat Rogue really well. Although there's one who drags his feet because of his own past, even with being reluctant to express his interest, the support and caring are still present. For those that prefer to know, there's light MM in this first book and the set-up is present for the MM to be developed in future books. Rogue supports the two men involved in pursuing their attraction for each other, she's very encouraging.

The book does end on a big cliffhanger, but book 2 is up for pre-order at the time of this review, and I need to know what happens next.

The Secrets We Keep was an interesting book. It's a bit weird to give it 4 stars because I'm not really sure how I exactly feel right now. Like it was good, but I wanted more action or her assassinating people. We get lots of good moments of romance and such, but where's the action? We get lots of talk of them doing contract killer stuff but not seeing a whole lot. So, yeah, I'm a little disappointed by that but hopeful the sequel picks it back up.

In this, you will meet Rogue. Her life is kind of shit at the moment. I mean her job makes her lots of money but not begin able to see your own flesh and blood all the time sounds horrible. Especially when it's her younger sister being tangled before her. She would do absolutely anything to get her out of this life but King, her adoptive father and asshole, uses Sage to keep her in line. Oh, and to do his dirty work.

As I said before, it was an interesting book. I definitely wanted more action when it came to killing or attacking people, but I guess that will pick up in the next two books? Maybe? I also need all my guys to be alive and okay.

This is Mila Sin’s debut novel and it is AMAZING! Very well written and a strong storyline! The characters are a good mix of personalities and different backgrounds! Mila should be extremely proud of herself for the book she created!

My personal tastes would have liked it a little more darker and I hope as the story progresses we begin to see a little deeper into the darker side of Rouge, I genuinely feel like we have only just begun to scratch the surface of who she really is!

The guys have a nice mix of personality’s a d backgrounds but I definitely want to learn a lot more about them all! I am soo looking forward to the exploration of Jacobs and Hans! And I can’t wait to see what kind of relationship Noah and Rouge will have! Also I just love Lucas! I love his mug collection and I think I want my own mug too!

If you LOVE contemporary reverse harems, with an assassin MFC and four guys vying for her and wanting her to team up with them! Then I definitely recommend this book!

Dark, dirty, sexy and un-put-downable!

Who would have ever guessed that a sexy assassin could have morals and good life? Well, this one does! Rogue is not happy with who she works for and she's definitely not happy with how and why she's in the situations she is.
When a few sexy, capable men pop into her life and offer a solution to her problems, help to get her out, she's down to party! Not only do they become her trusted confidantes, but her lovers and her family.
Of course, not everything goes as planned. As they start to gather information and plan the demise of their leaders, new information pops up, new allies reveal themselves and enemies get bolder.
I cannot wait for book 2 so I can continue this journey and see just where this story leads! I'm rooting for the team, but I'm also cringing as I wait for the other shoe to drop!

This is a voluntary review after receiving an ARC copy

I have to say, this is a crackingly amazing book and I loved every minute of it, couldn't put it down and read it in one straight sitting.

Hardass Assassin Rogue has lived a truly terrifying life since her parents died, and was trained as the Assassin for a huge West Coast gang. A security group approaches her, and they start working together on eliminating the worst of the worst in their respective organisations.

The characters are really different and just so well described I have a literal movie in my head as I read this. It's sweet, funny, terrifying, sad all in one go. Absolutely loved it and I very much look forward to book 2! I want more of Rogue and the guys!

Wow!! What an exciting and addicting read!!
Rogue, a badass, beautiful, deadly assassin has been in deep with The Gambit, an organized gang, since she was just a kid.
Noah, Lucas, Jacob and Han, four deliciously handsome men each with skills of their own, have been working together for years and are the top team at Annex Security.
When the guys discover that the Gambit and Annex Security have been secretly working together to gain control in the criminal world, they pursue Rogue and persuade her to join their team to work together to try to take down both of their organizations, one corrupt leader at a time.
This book is full of action, humour and steamy scenes that will keep you enthralled the whole way through, while that ending will leave you begging for more!!

Excellent debut novel

I am floored that this is a debut novel! Mila is an excellent writer, weaving a tale full of darkness and hope, despair and love.

To me, one mark of a great writer is one that evokes emotion - and she definitely does that! I was angry and laughing and fanning myself and falling in love with her guys. Obviously they're hot and badass, but they are also loveable and sweet. I enjoyed the dynamic between Rogue and her guys.

And I loved the mugs.

If you're looking for a slightly dark RH romance with a badass heroine and a great group of guys, with the perfect amount of danger, steam and humour...I would definitely recommend this one! Looking forward to book 2 ❤

There is a lot of backstory before it really gets started. I'm at 20% and nothing much has happened, but I’ve learned loads about each character. I've also skimmed most chapters, as I needed something to actually happen.

Despite feeling like I read the life story of every character. I couldn't tell them apart really.

It's definitely dragging, so I think it's my time to stop. Not my cup of tea for today.

Also does anyone else see a content warning? This is for past or present readers of this book. I'm reading this on my kindle currently and I can't see one.

None of the triggers are horrendous, but I still think it's important to have, just in case people are sensitive to topics.

The book includes mention of : Attempted sexual assault (briefly), violence, mention of domestic violence, graphic death scenes & death of a parent.

The Secrets We Keep will grab you by the throat (in a sexy way) and doesn’t let go! There is no way this is a debut novel! Rogue is the badass FMC we all need in our lives. She’s capable, intelligent, knows how to kill people and get away with it, and has a killer fashion sense, what more could you ask for? Oh, dangerous situations, mystery, and sexy guys? Well, you’re in luck. While handling her day to day assassination duties, there is a larger play at work to bring down the real bad guys and find her own happiness. I just don’t want to give anything else away!

Rogue had a rough upbringing, which will make you want to scream for her, but you’ll be so pleasantly surprised at her attitude and outlook. One of the things that I love is that despite her protests, she is actually a very mature and thoughtful individual with excellent communication skills. These really come in handy when she meets four sexy guys that are trying to sway her to their side. Noah, Lucas, Han and Jacob are all very different from one another, but make the perfect team, not only for their work, but also for our dear Rogue. Thank goodness this is RH, because I promise you won’t be able to choose between these guys. I LOVE them all, but I am going to give a special shout out to Lucas. That man is gorgeous and hilarious! Not in an overdone or annoying way, he genuinely made me smile and laugh out loud throughout the entire book.

Another important thing to note. This book contains serious situations and subject matter, but there are heartfelt moments and genuine laughter. Mila has done an excellent job infusing humor and personality throughout the story, and it NEVER feels contrived. This book is refreshing and captivating and the only other thing I can say is WHAT IS THAT ENDING? Don’t break your phone or reading device! Just impatiently wait with the rest of us for book two, because it is going to be AMAZING, you just know it with how great book one of the series is. Read it now, I promise you’ll be so happy you did!
