There's a certain percentage of women who've never experienced the big O. I happen to be one of them. When I confide that in my two best friends, they decide I can't go a moment longer without experiencing it. Next thing I know, they've signed me up for a dating app that's sure to get me all my jollies and then some.

I'm not so sure.

With a bar to run, a venture-capitalist partner telling me how to run it, and a past that makes my present difficult day to day, adding any kind of relationship--temporary or not--to that is a complication I just don't need.

Or do I?

When I finally cave and agree to meet someone, fate must think I'm a joke, because it's my business partner, Drew Miller, who walks in the door. I want to leave immediately, but when he convinces me to stay and talk it out, he makes me an offer I might actually take--he'll help me search for my missing O if I stop fighting him on the direction he wants to take the bar expansion. If he can't do it, I get control of my business back.

It's an offer too good to refuse...

The couple: Drew and Eve

Romance trope: office romance
Series: The Curves of Wall St.
Length: 173 pages

Plot: Eve owns a bar and she wants to expand the concept. She has an ulterior motive: she needs the money to regain custody of her daughter. Enter Drew. He's a venture capitalist and can provide the funds if she'll give him control over the expansion. But she doesn't really like him and he can't figure out why he can't stop thinking about her. They are opposites at first glance but have more in common than they thought. But they have to work together; can they keep it casual and professional?

Commentary: So the story was average - sort of opposites attract with the additional unique feature of a woman who's lost custody of her child. She even brings up the fact that society looks down on women who have lost custody because we expect mothers to be perfect (well, that last part was implied) - which is definitely true. But the thing that lowered the rating for me (because Goodreads needs half stars - this was a 2.5!) was the introduction of Reaganomics. Yes, you read that right. The hero works at a VC firm and one of the partners there has a ridiculously expensive watch - a sapphire Hublot that the brand website lists at $69,000 (yes, I looked it up). When Drew mentions it, there is this whole conversation with Drew, the friend, and a coworker about the difference between spending your money and saving it. The guy with the watch says, "'You obviously haven’t heard of trickle-down economics. Some of us don’t hoard our wealth and instead choose to spend enough of it that it continues circulating through the economy. It’s why billionaires get tax cuts.'"
Well of all the capitalist, David Mamet-dialogue, Ayn Rand, 1% bullshit.

You know who gets money when you spend $69,000 on a watch? The company that sells the watch. So one millionaire spent money that went to a different millionaire. There is a tiny bit that might go to the artisans or the minimum wage-making girl in the shop for her commission, but we know from experience and theory that trickle-down economics is a Reagan-era lie that allowed for tax cuts for the rich and nothing else. That money is not circulating through the economy. It's in tax-sheltered funds in the Cayman Islands and is funding wealthy frat bro trust fund babies in their pursuit of...whatever it is that they do.

Again, yes, as always, I have a chip on my shoulder about rich people. But also - trickle-down economics? You've got to be kidding me. Rich people love trickle-down economic theories - it means they can pretend they're doing something for the economy and for poor people while hoarding wealth and increasing the wealth gap all for the selfishness of "generational wealth" that is astronomically ridiculous in terms of what any reasonable human being could ever spend.
Maybe the author was trying to highlight that. But the guy who was arguing against the watch was ridiculed as a horrible grump who didn't know what he was talking about, so it didn't come off that way.
I know, I know, it's just a romance book. But also, it's a bit of escapism for regular people who don't have $69,000 watches and I found the whole conversation and idea insulting.

Also, I found the description of Eve to be a little strange: "'Sure, I’m on the tall side, but my height is all in my body, and my arms and legs are thick like branches on a very sturdy tree.'" I can only see a really tall woman with short stubby arms and legs, and can't find it at all cute. Like, I know it's not for me, but still, it left me with a distorted picture in my mind.

Pinky and Her King

4.5 stars - Their chemistry is quickly evident, but how Drew pays attention and steps up - in and out of the bedroom - is awesome... and HOT! I love how he reshapes their plans to account for Abbi, who is an adorable addition to this book, and that situation.

I wonder if that’s the real reason I’m fantasizing about breaking my no-clients code when it comes to Eve— would she be impossible to keep up with in bed too?
-- Andrew "Drew" Miller

I truly enjoyed this book. The characters are real and fun. I was easily hooked on them.

This is part of The Curves of Wall St. series each book can be read as a standalone, yet they link via characters but isn’t needed to understand each book and each book has a sexy nonbeliever and a woman too busy. Eve is so sweet, life hasn’t treated her well growing up but she choose to rise above it all, with amazing friends who only want have her best interest at heart especially when it comes to the big “O” every women needs to have at minimum one mind blowing, back throw out making you not even remember where or who she is kind of “O” so they signed her up with a dating app of course she is dragged kicking and screaming to actually take the time to date someone one. As a mom fighting for her baby girl to keep her controlling ex. out of the picture, keep her bar above the red and dealing with a man who thinks he knows what her bar needs. Drew sexy as all get out investor who invest in business that need a little help, a little push in the right direction to be a success and working with the bar proves to be a little of a challenge than he is use to especially with the attraction he fights daily for the owner and her little girl no matter how many times they butt heads but it is that butting heads that bring out the best in them both. Just when things get better, looking up for them her ex. comes around starting trouble of course if she allows her from under his thumb, she no longer has control, but he has the one key part to the whole thing their little girl which of course he threatens to keep away from her especially with all his money but will there be some type of justice when it comes to the fairness of their little girl, will Drew keep her balance, level headed when it comes to dealing with her ex. will her jerk of an ex. get what’s coming to him, will she finally get to feel the big “O” which this all started out, and can they find happiness which they both deserve?.

This one was so much fun. Megan Wade knows how to put a good story together!

Eve desperately needed to expand her (endearingly named) Endearing Badger bar business to get money to fight her controlling jerk of an ex-husband for custody of her daughter Abbi, who was absolutely adorable. Drew's business is investing in businesses that need a bit of help to level up - exactly what Eve needs. They start out butting heads a bit but gradually learn more about each other and come to appreciate their strengths. Not to mention the bedroom skills that were very steamy! I really enjoyed seeing the relationship between Eve and Drew develop over time.

Eve's ex threatens her with not allowing her to spend as much time with Abbi, which is only every other weekend, while Abbi spends most of her time with nannies. Drew and friends from the previous books get together to totally mess with the ex's family, who are "old money", which turns out to mean that they don't have nearly enough to fight the combined might of the strategic Wall St. hotshot financiers.

Drew's mother Petunia also is a great additional character, I enjoyed her a lot. I did wish to learn in the Epilogue just how badly the ex was smashed, but no such luck. I live for the schadenfreude, hahaha.

I definitely recommend this book!.

4.5 stars. Eve, the female lead, reluctantly accepted a venture capitalist’s money for 51% of her business. She doesn’t like or trust him though. Drew, the male lead and venture capitalist, shares mutual friends and is attracted but unwilling to act on that with a client. When they both look for an anonymous hookup via a new secure app, they’re shocked to be matched but willing to take a risk. But Eve’s rich ex is has full custody of her daughter and their relationship may put any contact at risk…

This story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy contemporary romance with very serious undertones. It deals sensitively with issues of assault and unfair parental custody distribution, as well as relational power imbalance. I enjoyed the resilience of Eve’s personality, even if it had been hard won. I enjoyed Drew’s carefree persona contrasted against his deep care and concern for his single mother, which led to great empathy for Eve’s situation. I also enjoyed the secondary character interactions and playful but meaningful banter. Whilst this story stands alone, secondary character interactions would be enhanced if previous stories have been read.

I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review
TRIGGER ALERT: Conjugal violence with details
You should know: unprotected and some religious talk.
-At first I thought Eve was supposing a lot from Drew but he set the record straight fast enough.
-We hear about 4 times by 54% how Eve decided to be alone instead of risking another man hurting her. By 82%, we learn twice that Eve doesn't have anything to her name to fight and win.
-Unprotected scenes and there's actually too many of them and not enough "story".
-I found this story a bit tedious to read. It was chopping instead of flowing.
-I would have liked to see what happened during "girls' night out" without Eve giving all the details of her love life and learn more on both Eve and Drew's POV on how they felt the relationship was growing, especially Drew because he was commitment phobic and Eve because of the stress of past violence.
-I loved the epilogue but it doesn't bring you to the next book so we don't know how Carson meet this unknown female.

Eve is hanging out with Nina and Becca and drinking. They are talking about how Eve has always been with duds. Becca signed Eve up for No Encores, a no strings hook up app. Drew bought in on Eve’s bar the Endearing Badger.

Drew grew up very poor and his mom worked three jobs to help him thru college. Getting a job at Pierce Goodman’s out of college was a Godsend. After five hard working years he gave his mom a beautiful paid for dream home that past weekend in NJ.

Drew shows up at the bar and wants to learn everything from the ground up. I’m impressed by both of them. Plot twists. Eve’s ex belongs in Dante’s inferno. I haven’t decided which level yet. I adore Drew’s mom. Plot twists. Drew has a magical power = steamy. Ive decided eve’s ex belongs on the fifth or sixth level of the inferno. Drew is so my hero as well as the rest of the gang. I loved this book. Book 3 did not disappoint!.

The third book in Megan Wade's The Curves of Wall St. series is the absolutely incredible Wall St. Player. Drew is a venture capitalist who sweeps in to help Eve franchise her bar. She begrudgingly gave up controlling interest in her business for his help - but what he doesn't know at first is the why: so she can regain custody of her daughter from her controlling ex. She is cold towards the Wall St. player, but when they are matched on the brand new "No Encores" hook-up app, the lines between business and personal are suddenly very blurry. Drew and Eve's chemistry is Kindle-melting, but it's his heart and her strength that have them rooting for them from the onset.

The return of some beloved characters (Ronan, Becca, Nina, Peter and Banks), the introduction of an even more wonderful supporting cast (Abbi, Petunia) augment Drew and Eve's story and make Wall St. Player an absolutely must read.

Partners for life! This is about Eve and Drew. They start as partners in her business well, he is 51% of the owner of her business. He is trying to help her expand, and while doing so, he finds out about her daughter in a separate life she lives every other weekend. Once he realizes this, his plan for her expansion changes, and at first, she is not happy, but after discussing this with her friends, she realizes it’s a really good deal. There is also an app that they both sign up on and are matched, but when they realize it is each other, she doesn’t want to go through the first night, but she does, and everything starts to work out better than she hoped until her ex comes into play and threatens to take her visiting rights away. I love these Wall Street MEN – they know how to get things done!.

Cute series

This is a cute series with low drama/angst but has some spice to it too. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline of all the books.

I have only read 2 other books by this author although it’s been a few years so I’m not sure if they were similar or not. The one thing in all 3 books that I did NOT like is the lack of use of protection during spicy scenes and no talk about being tested or whether or not they’re clean, etc. That’s a must do for me even in books because with the minimal talk about it to our youth and young adults I feel like it should be pushed as much as possible wherever we can get it. And for me, it ruins the moment when all I’m noticing is the fact that this man who is a serial dater and has new women often is not using protection nor having the conversation about safe sex. So for that reason and several typos/wrong name/words used throughout I gave this a 3 star.

This book has it all! I smiled, laughed, swooned, and even cried while reading this book. Drew and Eve are absolutely amazing!! Drew may be a player which concerned me at first but he’s soft hearted and sweet too. He’s only a player because he doesn’t do long term and commitments but he also doesn’t do one nighters. One look at him with his mom and you will see him differently. One look at him with Eve’s daughter and you will melt. Eve is fierce, independent, and does everything for the good of her daughter. Just once she deserves to have someone do for her. Drew is that someone…. In so many sweet and spicy ways!! I loved this book, I cried at the ending, and my heart felt more full for experiencing Drew and Eve’s story.

Eve has a problem and her friends have used their resources to help her solve it. Of course one solution is offered by the business partner she reluctantly took on.

When Drew sees an opportunity that he knows he can make beneficial for all parties, he does his best to get the optimal results. This is apparently true with his personal as well as business life.

When eve and Drew find themselves in an unexpected situation, both decide the best was is through it.

Loved these characters and appreciated catching up with characters from previous books. Despite that, you don’t need to know the others to appreciate.

I Loved this latest in Megan Wade’s ‘Wall Street’ series! I particularly like that, despite the fact that these are all stand-alone stories, they all link with each other. This novel features Eve who owns the ‘Endearing Badger’ bar where Nina & Becca (from the previous two books) drink. Both Eve and Drew are really likeable characters and their initial enemies-to-lovers vibe is particularly engaging. I enjoyed the by-play as Drew is persistent whilst he is trying to help her grow her business, despite Eve’s initial resistance. Throw in Drew’s lovely mum, Eve’s adorable little girl and the situation with her horrible ex-husband and you have a well written and addictive story with a satisfying HEA.

I love Megan Wade books!! This one is part of a series but can definitely be read as a standalone. The characters are interconnected. Eve has way too much going on. Poor girl runs a bar, tries to do best with her adorable daughter, Abbi, argues with an investor almost incessantly and to top it off, her friends discover that she’s never had the big O with a guy. Trying to help her, her friends set her up via a dating app. Who should come walking through the door is said investor. While Eve tried to leave, Drew, the investor, convinced her to stay and strike a deal.
This book definitely had all the feels! I completely fell in love with this book and am already rereading it!.

Eve is a single mother who started a business as a way of making money to fight her ex-husband for custody. Little did she know that taking on a partner would not only improve her business but her life. Drew is a self made VC. He sees something in Eve and her business that he wants to be a part of but he doesn't want to mix business with pleasure, that os until an App matches them for a o e night stand. Will lust win over business or will one night lead to more. This was a great book. The characters are well written and the story was good.

Eve and Drew's Bargain . . .

Eve was fighting her controlling ex-husband over their child, Abbi. But she needed to expand her business to earn more money if she is going to take him on in court. Drew Miller is a wealthy investor in businesses that are not doing as well as they could be. But Eve tends to fight his ideas all the way.

When her friends get her to sign up on a dating app because she had a very depressing sex life, she ends up being matched to her business partner, Drew! He makes an agreement with her that is mutually beneficial. Will he convince her to do things his way? Or will she continue to flounder on her own rather than take a chance on the expert?

This was such a fun, thoughtful, low drama, high heat read! I've enjoyed many of Megan Wade's books, especially in this and the Wrong, Wright series, but this might be my very favorite to date. I love that both Eve and Drew are strong, complicated characters with big hearts, and that the conflict in the story feels true to the characters and entirely believable. The side characters (Petunia and Abbi) are charming. All around, a win in my book! Looking forward to the next one. :-)

A cute addition to the series.

A cute addition to the Curves of Wall St. series. Eve thought getting help for her bar would make her life easier, but she didn’t expect Drew to affect her so much. It gets more complicated when they match on the hookup app and sparks fly. But is mixing business with pleasure such a good thing if she wants to get her daughter back full time? You need to one click to find out in this newest release that doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the characters chemistry and the ending of the story when everyone got their back.

HEA
Standalone, interconnected characters

She owns a bar that he more has controlling interest in. She wants to expand the bar into a franchise and regain custody of her beautiful daughter. He wants to take her ideas and turn them into something she can make money on because he knows she needs her daughter back with her. The ex is from old money and left her with nothing except trauma responses and the need to protect women everywhere. Drew can help her do that, if they can get around their insane chemistry together.

Although part of the Curves of Wall St. series, this definitely reads like a stand-alone. Eve believes getting help for her bar will make her bar more successful, Drew is an investor interested in helping out. But when they are matched on a dating app, though surprising, they are willing to give it a try. This book has compelling characters, sizzle, steam, great dialogue, the perfect amount to humor, a little drama, and more. Available currently on Kindle Unlimited, the series is binge-worthy.

I thought this was a cute romance. Eve is such a sweetheart and her daughter is absolutely adorable. Drew is a good guy, and is quite sweet and considerate. These two are attracted to each other but don't want to mix business with pleasure. However they both get matched and they take the next step. I found this story steamy hot and fun to read.
