Lustfully Romantic

It starts with a deal, Mara makes a deal with Vepar and from there everything changes. Living with Demons, hiding from Angels, this book had it all. Zephar becomes protective over Mara, I loved the chemistry between them.
It is well written, with a great plot and spiciness.
I couldn't put this book down, it grips you from the beginning. The romance, drama and passion with a hint of demons will keep you reading.

This book is for fans of Supernatural or even Buffy. Those who like a lot of spice with with amazing plot.
Mara makes a deal with a demon and gets sucked into a world of angels vs. demons that she NEVER bargained for. Held captive with a set of demon twins, she slowly starts to learn that the bad guys aren’t always evil and the good guys aren’t always great.
This book is spicy from about 12% in and then just keeps getting better. I loved the brothers and Mara and let me tell you, this author knows how to write a villain. I did not see the big surprise reveal of the main plot point coming, and I usually do. This book was a perfect blend of mystery, romantic subplot, end of the world battles, sacrifice and 🥵🥵🥵🥵.
If you love the “I will kill everyone who hurts you” or the “I have a much bigger supernatural destiny than I ever realized” tropes, you don’t want to miss this one.

I absolutely loved everything about this book! The writing style was beautiful and eloquent. It flowed so easily and kept you wanting to read more.
The main character Mara was super relatable (yes even in a demon & angel fantasy fiction). You just felt for her and her struggles. And then there's that whole fantastic plot line of Hell vs Heaven... I loved how the author created this world where demons and angels are every bit a part of the real world with real life jobs and living mortal lives while still maintaining their basic immortal functions. (Like demons making deals for souls...)
But let's talk about Zepar, the real star of the show! He is what book boyfriends are made of. The big bad demon who becomes obsessively protective and is brought to his knees by his unrelenting feelings for Mara is seriously the chef's kiss! Oh and the spicy scenes were ah-maz-ing! The chemistry alone was addictive but then you had those wonderful snippets of goodness and oh my 🥵... lol.
I would have to say that out of everything amazing in this book, my favorite part is that Mara went from being a victim of her circumstances wanting nothing more than to free herself from her abusive ex, to this super badass chick who stepped up and saved not just herself but the big bad demon too. You justnhave to love a story that ends with a strong female main character!

It was nice a nice read and it is clear the author did extensive research on the biblical Angels & Demons, but the story unfortunately didn't manage to captivate me.
There were parts in the book that didn't really seem to contribute to the story and sometimes even took away from the story and/ or the character developments. I feel like those parts could have instead be used to build the story, develop the world and create more depth to the characters.
The ending felt underwhelming and abrupt, the story seemed to be building up to something only for it to a left turn and end without much action.

It’s probably me because I’m definitely in a reading slump but this was super boring!
I love a good paranormal romance, especially angel/ demons and this just didn’t deliver at all. The plot would have been fantastic if there was more action or something of note actually happened. Even when it did it felt underwhelming and detached in a way.
Spoiler: An archangel is killed and it felt meh at best… like what? Even their fight was boring and non descriptive. I feel like the book was a chapter in a story rather than a story in itself.
The FMC had no personality at all! I still don’t understand her purpose but okay lol. On top of it all, I thought this was going to either be why choose or reverse harem given how entwined she was with everyone… that did not happen at all.
How do you meet Lucifer and it not be a spectacle? Especially since she’s harboring his lovers soul in her body??

This book was so freaking amazing!! I received this as an ARC and read it in one sitting. I loved the angels and demon setting especially since our characters had different powers. I love how Zepar and Vepar are protective of Mara and “kidnap” her to keep her safe. I didn’t know what to think of Sitri because he acted like he cared and liked Mara but used every opportunity to mess with the boys. I loved how Mara was timid and scared at the beginning but ended up becoming a bad-ass at the end. I loved this book and can’t wait for everyone to read it!

I really enjoyed reading Maras story but what made this book for me were the brothers! I loved their banter between one another and willingness to protect what each other and what "belonged" to them. the cover is super smexy but don't let it mislead you this is not a why choose.
our FMC Mara makes a deal with a crossroads demon, asking him to save her from her ex boyfriend offering up a soul in return. Our demon Vepar makes the deal not realizing all hell...and Heaven is about to break loose over this humans soul.
this book gives off touch her and you die vibes also forced proximity. it was a little slow to start for me but once i was 15% in it was so fun to read and the ending was so unexpected!!!

If I could give it zero stars I would. What in the ever loving catfish dynamics relationships, kink and not at all kink situationships was this?? Not only does the book tease a why-choose romance at literally every point ( and I mean EVERY point, so much it’s the only reason I kept reading. Since it had me thinking it would eventually happen), and then just straight up incredibly poorly “tie” those loose ends into a single monogamous relationship; it was just overall incredibly confusing and just kinda bad.

I am about 41% through this book and it is a retelling of the myth of Lucifer falling out of grace with God. The Fallen, Lucifer, "Father," Michael are all here. I think this is pretty interesting so far. A woman who needs to get away from her ex makes a bargain with a demon and then they discover she is more than she even knows she is.
This was unexpected. I didn't know going into it that I would like it because it was just something I knew I could read quickly. I like the idea of literally tearing down heaven and hell for love. Good book.

It was quite good till the last half of the book.
The plot could have been better, the indicators of this being an RH type book...well, the cover is wrong. But the moments in the book make also misled me.
So, it was really put out at the end. Just seemed so....I don't know, lacklustre. The feeling you get when you look forward to something in the fridge, think about it all day, get home, and someone's eaten it. That kind of shocked, oh feeling.
Besides that, the good parts are really good. The spicy smutty moments are mmmmm hot 🔥 🥵
Which makes the let downs hurt so much more.

The ending was so melodramatic for all that it was leading up to. The FMC was honestly just annoying half the time. The way the summary read and the cover photo has you thinking it’s gonna be MFM but it’s just her and one of the guys. It leaves you on a weird ending to. Like hey here is this big plot twist for her and him but oh well. I will give them this. It was good writing and the author definitely is good I was just not a fan of this book.

4.5/5 ⭐️’s I really enjoyed this book! It definitely gives huge Supernatural vibes. I loved how Mara, the FMC, makes rational decisions. It’s the first book I’ve read, where the FMC isn’t making all these dumb decisions, but decisions that any normal human would make. I loved it!

I really enjoyed the dynamic of Mara and Zepar. Zepar is a demon who has always felt loneliness in him, that he attributed to his fall from Heaven until he meets Mara. Mara seeks Vepar, Zepar's twin, to save her life by making a deal. By accepting Mara's deal, Vepar starts an old prophesy that he was unaware of. Seeking to conceal Mara once the angels decide to take her life, Vepar leaves Mara with Zepar, who instantly feels a connection with her. Zepar is ready to give his own life to protect Mara so that she can live out her life the way she wishes.
The story was sweet and thrilling at times. The spice was hot and Zepar is so loving and gentle with Mara. I loved their story and how they both would give up their life to save the other.

Blood On My Name is a novel that reminded me of Supernatural. I am a huge fan of the show, so naturally I loved this book as well.
This novel had a good mix of spice and plot. I would have preferred to get more nitty gritty into the plot, but it still had a good amount of plot. I was half expecting her to end up with the two brothers instead of one due to the cover, but she only ended up with the one. The FMC had great chemistry with the hero, but it was more insta love than slow. I know he's her captor, but she fell for him very quickly. I would have preferred to see more of a back and forth and internalization of feelings than the almost instant love, but it was still a good relationship.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that is a fan of Supernatural and the like. It's a great novel and I really enjoyed it!

This book kept my attention the whole way through. Definitely an 18+ book but, if you are looking for a book with the perfect amount of smut to plot you’ve found it!! It kept me guessing in the best of ways and I couldn’t be more happy that I picked it up. I just couldn’t get enough of Mara and Zepar. I just want more of Mara, Zepar and Sitri! When you pick this up you will not be disappointed.

This book was definitely a supernatural vibe with lots of twist and turns. I loved how it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The characters where fantastic and the mystery was everything! Would definitely recommend!

I got an ARC copy of Blood on my name by K. Elle Morrison and YOU GUYS.
I love me so demon and angel beef. But this book is Top 3 so far. THE STORY IS SO GOOD.
The beginning was a little tough in my opinion just due to the unknowns going into the book, but not even three chapters in and it gets so good.
This is dual perspective and it does a lot in my opinion to show how the characters are going to move in regard to the story line.
I CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH

I was lucky enough to be able to get an ARC of this book and it was amazing!! It was incredibly relatable even with the fantasy elements. Mara is probably one of the most relatable characters I have read in a while! I love how she is scared but is also brave and faces everything that comes at her! I love Zeper! He is the epitome of willing to kill anyone who touches her!! It is so easy to read and flows so well! Once you pick it up it is so hard/ nearly impossible to put it down!! I am so looking forward to reading more in this series!!!

This author really did her research 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I am really impressed at the work that went into this novel. The details in this story are thoughtfully woven together and I could easily see the hard work that was put into the research of demonology. The plot was complex, especially for a short novel and I easily could have read another 200+ pages on this story because it was so intriguing. I really enjoyed all the characters but I wish I could have had just a little more character building, especially for Mara but it did not take away from the story. Though this book is not as spicy as my typical reads, it was not an issue for me since I loved the characters so much and was completely invested in the political intrigue of this world the author created.

After signing over her fate to the demon, Mara is thrown into the world of politics between heaven and hell when a target is placed on her back. Something dark lurking within her has caught the attention of both the angels and demons and forces Vepar’s hand to ensure her protection and his own. He and his reluctant twin brother, Zepar, kidnap Mara and lock her away in Zepar’s California home. Blood on my name was unexpected and I liked it. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with this book but it took me for a ride and i appreciated it. Blood on my name is a story about fate, and who really controls it ultimately. I loved the author’s spin on how we view angels, demons, the story of the Fall, and predestination. Although it’s a fun spicy book, it does still challenge you to confront things you thought you knew. I throughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more from this author!

This was a fun read to dive into. It starts with our FMC Mara making a deal with a demon and all the unknown consequences that come with it. Turns out, there was more to the deal than any of them realized. Kate definitely did her research into demonology and made her own play on it.

“That was putting my bloodlust lightly. I didn’t just want to defend Mara; I wanted to place her on a throne made from the ash of every angel that resided in Heaven and every demon who would dare look at her.”
“That was sweet revenge. A fine, aged wine of spite with notes of petty that could keep a demon content for as long as the human race kept itself alive.”

I did feel as though the story was kind of slow. We didn’t really get a grasp of the problem until about 60-65% in. Readers know that demons and angels are after Mara but we don’t see a lot of issue with it. Just a bunch of demons making pointless threats and then leaving. I didn’t see that ending going the way it did, though. It wasn’t as epic as I had hoped it would be but it was definitely a good twist!
There was also a tour of our demon love interest sex dungeon. We saw it once and then it basically wasn’t mentioned again 😭

This had a slow build, but once it got going it didn’t stop until the very end. It has several different tropes such as love triangle between brothers, forbidden love/lust, touch her and die, and it has soul binding. The Demon vs Angel conflicts to save the girl were down quite well throughout the plot. Plus there was plenty of smut for those who enjoy that 😜. Enjoyed this book and interested in reading more by the author.

A story with a good pace, good spice, and a surprise twist. This book was finished within 3 days (with its audio companion), but I would have finished it sooner had it not been for adult responsibilities. lol
