First off- Who wrote the book blurb over on Amazon for this book? Uh false advertising. Rules for new employees! Rules #1-#3? Silver Fox?! Owain is 39 and grey hair is never mentioned. What an insult to 39 year old men. Side note Raven is not a new employee either! Rule #3 don't get pregnant?! Try not having sex or using some form of contraception or Plan B. Ugh so annoying. Why are authors writing stupid female characters?! With the stupid premises? Why people, why? And then they write it badly.
Well this story stunk. I waffled between 1 star and 2 stars for this. There was a story here all be it not executed all that well.
The male MC is Owain (39), who is rich and comes from a rich family. Apparently he is sexist. We never get shown this or further description, the readers are just told. It was off putting and confusing and happens within the first chapter of the story. How do you pronounce his name? Is it like "Owen"? It threw me off every time I read his name because I didn't know how to pronounce it. I have no problem if this is anyone's actual name. I honestly just want to educate myself.
The female MC is Raven(26). She works in marketing for Owain's company. She is alright. Everyone loves her and she is beautiful blah blah. I didn't feel any sort of emotions for her or Owain. No connection for me. He suddenly has a "see the light" moment and notices her blah blah, falls in love, conflict, resolution. Rinse and repeat of all romance stories right here folks.
The Amazon blurb mentions "oh no what will people in the office think when she has a baby bump", literally no one in the office in the story finds out, lame, it's such a mute point/detail.
I did not enjoy this story as one can tell. There were a lot of missed opportunities by this author to make this better. I won't be reading any more of this author's stories. Apologies for this review being kinda all over the place, as I was very annoyed.
Raven, has had enough. She is tired, of Owain favoring only the male's perspective, during the weekly business meetings. But, especially her boss's ideas, which are lame, outdated, and do not hit the mark. So, rather than sit quietly any longer, she finally speaks up.
She may call him out for his being arrogant and sexist. Plus, a whole lot more. But, when she gets him to give her a chance to put a presentation together he says fine, “By Monday, morning.” She runs, with it. Yet, on her big day, he is late to work, for the first time. She is, pissed.
Raven doesn't know, he got himself in a huge mess with, his hard-to-please, family. He needs a plus one for his brother, Tom’s wedding, in Hawaii. However, he makes it worse, when his father starts nagging him about wasting his life, and not being able to do, anything right.
So, when, Raven still forces the meeting he wants to cancel, she shuts him down. Things take a far different turn than I am sure she would ever expect and she feels deflated. Although, her fantasies are seeming to resemble closely to the truth. Which seems to scare her. But, she sees the true favor he needs, which leaves him weak, making her think about helping.
See how this story shows the more humanistic side of life. When it comes to our preconceptions of the rich and famous. Especially, when you are from a simple background. But, for sure not an easy one. These characters are real, and show vulnerabilities that keep them genuine, to us the reader.
Under the layers is Owain protecting himself from others by not showing his endearing loving personality. Unwittingly, Raven is dragged into Owain's family drama by agreeing to be her boss's fiancee for a weekend family event. She is the key in tearing down the walls surrounding his heart. He says to her "I didn't see you properly, and I didn't let you see the real me either. but Hawaii opened my eyes. I really like you, and I want to be with you." Once he realizes she's exactly who he needs in his life, he does everything in his power to win her over & he will continue to flourish her with the love & attention his queen deserves.
This is the perfect romance novel that captured my heart with Owain & Raven's love story. This is the first novel I've read by this author & right from the beginning I was pulled into their story of Raven calling him sexist. He up's one on her by challenging her to prove to him that she can sell him on a stellar promotional sale of his company's products where her supervisor failed. Starting as enemies, he listens to her sales pitch & is sold on it. In Hawaii, pretending to be engaged proves to be electrifying & their chemistry is over-the-top hot! This novel flows so beautifully & I really like the characters inner strength of independence & success. These 2 are meant to have their HEA & their story melted my heart!

Owain is a man who seems to only want a booty-call every now and then. He can’t seem to commit or open himself to women. He is called out on his sexism by Raven. and then made more aware of it by Rachel, his friend with benefits. When Owain opens his mouth and lies about having a fiancée to take to his brother’s wedding, he decides to take Rachel, his booty-call but she calls him out on his shallowness and failure to commit. She also told him she was with him for his money and no other reason. Owain mulls this over and with his love for his mother and brother, figures out that Raven is more than he ever wanted. Throw in some fatherly animosity and eye-opening love, you get a great story to read.
This book was an OK read for me. It's an enemies to lovers, boss and employee fake relationship read. I really liked Raven, she was strong willed and stood up for herself. For me the best part of the book was Raven's best friend Cara. I did not like Owain he was a jerk and he never really redeemed himself. Owain's father wasn't nice to Raven and to me everyone forgave him to easily after the horrible things he said to her. The book is a light read with an HEA. Since this is Lisa Ryan's first book I would like to read more to see if she improves.
***received an ARC from the author for leaving my honest review***
Owain and Raven are an unlucky couple would end up being what each other were looking for even though they hated each other at first. He thought Raven was a loud mouth and she thought he was sexist. Things changed when he needed a fake fiancé for his brothers wedding to make his mom happy and she helped him out to get a promotion. The lines blurred once in paradise and they each developed feeling for each other. Then along came a surprise baby but they ended up together with a precious baby girl.

Raven’s boss seems to ignore her talent and the two definitely don’t like each other. But when Owain has to have a date for his brother’s wedding, he bribes Raven to come to the event in Hawaii. Complicating things even more, he tries to stop his family from nagging him by saying that he is engaged to her. But the beautiful setting and close proximity work their magic on these two. Will they act on their attraction? Are they ready to deal with the relationship that follows?
Raven hates her sexist boss. Never listening to any else’s ideas, Raven blows up at him in a meeting. Confronted by Raven, Owain is forced to challenge her to present a decent proposal to him by Monday morning. But when Monday morning rolls around Owain has a bigger problem to face. How can he take his fiancé to his brother’s wedding in Hawaii when he doesn’t even have a girlfriend. What a comedy of errors faking it gets too real.

I don't usually write a review but this book is a really great read. Raven and Owen are both interesting and complicated. Raven calls Owen out about his attitude of the marketing department this is when things start getting interesting. When his brother gets engaged and plans wedding, the problems start to surface. Owen needs a date for the wedding. He makes a deal with Raven a boy things really get interesting from there to the end of the book. A great and enjoyable read
Owain was a billionaire. He had women before but didn’t give himself into the relationship. He needed a date for his brothers wedding in Hawaii. Raven was up for getting more from her job. Always being pushed away on her campaign ideas. Actually not even getting the time to present them. She spoke up and had her say. Owain was surprised but agreed to look at her plans, on one condition, she would be his date for the wedding. Well read to find out just how that went!
Enemies to Lovers It took me a couple pages to get into this book, but then I was hooked and could not put it down. I loved the storyline and the characters. It’s a hot romance with lots of drama. This is my first read by Lisa Ryan. Now I am hooked on her style and on the hunt for more of her books. I received a free copy of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
Hot and cute sotry, like its characters It's a good romantic story, with the characters of Raven, a marketing employee, and Owain, her boss. They know each other without really talking to each other at work until she antagonizes him and places herself in his memory (even if it's negatively). The situation brings them closer, but what it creates then, also drives them apart at their place of work. Their story is tender, hot and cute I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I've read several variations in this "fake marriage" genre! Most have been very entertaining and managed to keep my interest and curiosity wanting to see whether the couple ends up together. I'd rate this story near the top on my enjoyment scale. I liked the imaginative, and yet realistic, situations that mirrored real life. Highly recommended for a good time read!!!
A book advertising itself as a pregnancy romance when the pregnancy aspect doesn't happened until the epilogue basically. The book is called "Boss's Fake Fiancee" and that part of the title perfectly describes the book but the latter part of the title is a lie and false advertisement for the readers that chose this book thinking it would be more than one chapter about the surprise pregnancy.
This book had a good storyline. It was entertaining and had some swoon-worthy moments. I'm glad the story continued on past their reconciliation. It was a little scary when it felt like it wouldn't. Although, I wish it had gone further than it did. I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving an ARC.

He decides he needs a fake fiance and picks someone from his office to go to his brothers wedding. But, things get hot and heavy. Absolutely lovely book with not a lot of drama. Just a nice love story with a wonderful ending. The characters were wonderful and very sweet. I really enjoyed reading this book. The author did an amazing job writing this.
With a outspoken employee that he never recognized as everything that he needed. His love for his brother and mother leads him on a journey that changes his life from alone to a family of his own.

Owain and Raven. Sexist, grumpy, boss. Bold, smart, talented employee. Enemies to lovers. Fake engagement. Family drama. Very steamy scenes. Accidenal pregnancy. This is their story. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this.
Raven and Owain are freaking goals! Their romance honestly captured me and this was worth the read. It’s a enemies to lovers romance business that I personally enjoyed. It kinda gave me Ryan Reynolds the proposal vibes which I loved!
I really liked this book. It was adorable mixture of unfortunate events until things all started to work. I can’t wait to read more of this authors work and I hope she does a sequel for Cara!
