Jericho Bancroft has zero plans to accept the bequests in his cousin’s will. He doesn’t even want to attend the reading of the will because that means seeing Michael’s widow —Sera James. The only one he’s ever wanted but could never have. She belonged to someone else…. or so he thought.
When Jericho lays eyes on Sera, he wants to claim her and now that Michael’s gone there’s no reason to resist other than Jericho’s own conscience and the idea of him not being the only man to truly own her heart and soul.
Sera James fell in love with Jericho Bancroft when she first met him, but she could never confess her feelings to him because she has a secret to protect for the man that all but saved her life. While their marriage might not have been traditional, he gave her a sense of family. Something she’d never had.
Things are never as they seem. When the truth finally comes to light will Jericho be able to repair the damage he’d caused by pushing away the only woman he would ever love?
Michael died, and his cousin, Jericho, is the executor of his estate. He left his wife, Sera, and their son, Asher. But Sera and Michael aren't your typical married couple. She married him when they found out he had cancer, and they are platonic at best. This is also his way of making sure that Asher will be taken care of when the time comes for him.
Anyway, three years ago, Sera and Jericho shared a kiss before her wedding day. This might be considered cheating, but like I said, her relationship with Michael is platonic only. Moving on to the present time, Michael stated in his will for Jericho to take care of Sera and Asher.
This wasn't well received by Sera because they have been antagonistic with each other since her wedding. Jericho was kind of a jerk at first, but only because he's mad and brokenhearted, even though three years have gone by.
They agreed to a truce, and of course, with the attraction and sexual tension between them, things are definitely bound to happen.
There was some drama caused by Michael's stepbrother and Asher's biological mother. But it was resolved quickly.
Overall, this was good, and I enjoyed reading it.

This could have been a good 4 stars it it was longer. It's a short novella but very well done, with the usual heroine is engaged to om but kisses hero so he hates her for years. The heroine married his cousin who was not gay for once, he only wanted a mother for his child since he was terminally ill and didn't want his relative to have custody of his child. The hero sees the heroine and is the greatest insta love of all. When he knows she's engaged to his cousin, who is also very rich, he hates her. Three years later om dies and leaves everything to the hero. He will take care of his widow and child. The hero has some moments where he slut shames the heroine but as soon as he knows what happened and what was the relationship between her and his cousin he decides they will marry and be happy together. Then evil relatives try to threaten the heroine and the child, and the hero solves everything because he is a real alpha that takes care of his woman. The novella is good and safe, the hero was celibate since he met the heroine even if she was married to om, the heroine is a virgin since the marriage was MOC only so both were celibate. The angst is quite low because after the first pages the hero decides he will let go of the past and move on- with the heroine.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Sera has had a hard life, her birth mother constantly disrupted her life by giving her to the state and then taking her back, fed up she runs away from her last foster home at 16 preferring to live in shelters. That’s where Micheal a philanthropic billionaire finds her, he is in need of a nanny for his infant son, Asher. When he finds out he is critical ill he asks Sera to marry him and has her name added to Asher’s birth certificate. The birth mother gave up her right for Asher for money. For several years Sera cared for a dying Micheal and was a mother to Asher. They had a strictly platonic relationship, Sera loved him as a friend. When Michael passes his money hungry family comes to take everything from Sera who they all think is a whore and a gold digger. They are unaware of Asher, that’s how private a person Michael was. At the reading of the will, Jericho, Michael’s cousin is named executor of his estate. He is now responsible for Sera and Asher. Sera and Jericho’s first meeting did not end well, he saw her and approached her, feeling an intense attraction Sera initiated a kiss, but an hour later marries Michael. Jericho is angry with both of them, he thinks she’s a whore and hates himself for having feelings for her. Sera tells Michael of the kiss, he laughs it off but makes it so after his death the two of them are forced to be together. It takes a few days for the two to warm up to each other. As months go by Jericho sees Sera in a new light, she’s not the woman he thought she was, though he is still very jealous she had Michael’s son. They finally give into to their attraction to one another, Jericho finds out Sera is a virgin and can’t be Asher’s birth mother. Jericho was a virgin too. Drama ensues when Michael’s stepbrother finds out about Asher and locates the birth mother. To gain access to Michael’s billions he tries to have Asher taken away from Sera. Jericho deals with the stepbrother and Sera appeals to the birth mother. She gives her more money and she leaves. I love yous, a proposal and Sera telling Jericho she’s pregnant. Cute epilogue many years later with an 18 year old Asher dealing with feelings for a girl, and their 14 year old daughter giving them all the details.

His Will de Ella Goode
Argumento:
The book begins with the funeral of the heroine's husband, and with his will being read. Turns out, the heroine and her son are left beholden to the hero for their care- and he resents it as the heroine had once kissed him right before her wedding.
The first half is angsty but when the hymen warrior enters, it becomes very gooey and cliched.. and you can predict the rest.
Jericho is wrestling his feelings for Sera. Sera is wrestling with her feelings for Jericho. There are parts that made me mad, sad and heartbroken. Great story with drama. HEA.
As addictive as usual. It's been a while since I read a story by this author and I'm happy to say that this one hit the spot. It's a sweet and exciting novella about a complex misunderstanding and a rich man's twisted will. Or is it a good man playing with fate?
Jericho's cousin has died and his will is full of surprises for his family. Especially wife and son who are left at Jericho's mercy to fulfill the will's provisions. He's always been obsessed with Sera and now he has access to her beauty, her future and her well being.
Oh, the sparks, the chemistry! And that misunderstanding I mentioned? This couple goes from enemies to lovers and forever in the lapse of a lust-filled epiphany of him claiming her as his most treasured possession. Yeah, he's a possessive man, and protective to infinity. There's room for heroism as he protects Sera from evil relatives and inner turmoil, yet she also grows in courage. It's very pretty. I loved the sense of family, Michael's personalilty, the evolution from frustrated anger to the realisation that they are meant to be together and to finally confessing their love. And the theme of wills is always a winner for me!
At the reading of her husband's will, Sera learns that she is stuck with her nemesis Jericho and he is in charge of her and her child's future. They work together to clear up any misconceptions and ensure the safety of their family. Super growly, jerky, over protective MC.
°2nd chance °Each other's first and only °Switching POVs °Annoying heroine °No OW/OM drama °No cheating or scenes with OP °Epilogue: around 15 years later
SAFETY remarks - SAFE - Dual virgins - cheating/sharing: no - ow/om: no - separation/breakups: no - possible triggers: violence, foster care, adopted son, death of a spouse, cancer - HEA: yes
Omg, how much I love this book!! This one is emotional to me. I guess I have a soft spot for when there is a kid involved.
These two met the day before Sera was to marry Michael – Jericho’s cousin. She was 18 y.o. They kissed and when things were gonna go further Michael called her, looking for her. He got mad and treated her badly every time he saw her when he visited his cousin. At some point, Jericho called a truce and they let the past in the past.
In Michael’s will reading you see who his family is and why he didn’t trust them. His decision about leaving everything to Jericho instead of his wife. I think he is kinda matchmaker between Jericho and Sera. He knew they would take good care of his son, Asher.
These two are each other’s one and only. They were like magnets; they affected each other because they always had feelings for each other. Even though she married Michael, it wasn’t consummated because it was more a platonic love. They loved each other but more like sister and brother. He gave her a better way to live and gave her Asher which she fell in love instantly; and gave Asher a Mom. She helped him take care of his son and a security that when he died, his son would still have a mom.
I loved when Asher said: “Mine” with his hind on Sera’s face. He claimed his mom and didn’t want to share her with Jericho. And when he did the same thing with Jericho… I almost cried. Asher is such a sweet boy. And Sera is an amazing mom to him. She is fierce to protect and keep his boy.
They way each other solved the problems were final. They were a family and no one would interfere there.
3️⃣The h has been married to Michael , Hs cousin for the past few years.
4️⃣Michael and Sera were NOT in love , AT ALL. Michael fathered Asher with some other woman.
5️⃣He needed a nanny to take care of his son , so he hired Sera , and thought it would be fitting for sera to marry him , so that Asher could have proper parents.
6️⃣Michael and Sera lived together , NEVER slept with each other, in fact nobody knew what Michael preferred , since no one had seen him with any woman for YEARS.
7️⃣NOBODY knows that Asher is NOT sera's son. Not even Hero. EVERYBODY thinks that Sera is the bio mom to Asher.
8️⃣At the start of the book, Michael's already dead.
9️⃣It is mentioned in EVERY 3rd paragraph how Sera misses Michael, so much. Tbh , initially it felt like she loved Michael . But no she didn't , she LOVED him as a FRIEND as a BROTHER.
1️⃣1️⃣Sera had ran away from her house when she'd been 16 and Michael had pitied her , and given her a home to live , in exchange for marrying him and mothering Asher.
1️⃣2️⃣Sera is SO much devoted towards Asher , its so SWEET to see her mother a child who is not hers.
1️⃣3️⃣Virgin Hero. Surpriiiise!!!
1️⃣4️⃣The H is an ASSHOLE.
BUUUUUUUUUT .
1️⃣5️⃣That's only because he has loved sera for a VERRRRRYYYY long time.
1️⃣6️⃣Apparently , before Sera married Michael, Jericho didn't know that she would be marrying Michel , so they kissed and it was actually initiated by Sera.
1️⃣7️⃣When Jeri came to know, he was furious he left town and NEVER came back.
1️⃣8️⃣Michel knew about the kiss because Sera told him , and he laughed it off. Michel was a REALLY cool guy , and was VERY much in love with Sera. NOT IN THAT WAY. But in a friendship kind of way.
1️⃣9️⃣I loved how , he was NEVER intimate with anyone when he was apart , because well, knowing that you are lusting after your brother's wife is wrong , but he still didn't sow his wild oats , knowing that he couldn't have what he wanted.
2️⃣0️⃣Jericho and Sera have ALL the firsts together. Kissing too.
2️⃣1️⃣LOT'S of jealousy on Jericho's part because until the confusion is cleared , Jericho has assumed that Asher is Michael and sera's son and is ANGRY that he kissed sera go all those years ago.
2️⃣2️⃣First meeting of MCs is NOT good. SHE SLAPS HIM because he insults her. Jericho thinks that Sera is a gold-digging-whore. AND EVEN CALLS HER THAT TO HER FACE AND IN FRONT OF HER SON TOO!!!! 😡
2️⃣3️⃣But he treats her well after chapter 2.
2️⃣4️⃣They form a bond , all confusion is cleared.
2️⃣5️⃣HEA.
2️⃣6️⃣Lot's of family drama , Michael's parent's and step-bro wanted the wealth of Michael because in his will he didn't leave any . In fact Michael always knew that Sera and Jericho were made for each other , so in his will he specifically mentioned that Jericho is to take care of sera and Asher after his death.
2️⃣7️⃣No-cheating.
2️⃣8️⃣No sex scene with OP.
✅Smut- 🔥💯💋
2️⃣9️⃣HEA.
3️⃣0️⃣Epilogue-Married with kids.
3️⃣1️⃣Loved the h , loved how she went from tough stuck-up pretend bitch to a sweet woman who only wanted what was best for Asher.

Plot: Jericho met Sera some time ago, but too late; she was already engaged to his cousin Michael. Michael is dead now, and Sera is left grieving and taking care of Michael's son. For some reason, Michael has left Jericho in charge of his estate, and Jericho has no intention of letting Sera go this time.
Commentary: Jericho (at first) wasn't as nice as I generally expect from this author's characters! But he was dealing with a lack of information (I really think Sera was too, with respect to Michael, but I digress) and a broken heart, so didn't realize that Sera was actually madly in love with Michael and also wasn't exactly cheating when she kissed him before the wedding. I hate that she had to go through with the wedding after meeting Jericho, but I think having it happen that way allowed for them to come together not just romantically but on an equal financial footing, which allowed the final bad guy to be dealt with a little more easily.
4.5 Stars I thought that this was a really sweet, steamy, yet moving book. I really liked Sera and Jericho together. There is a bit of drama in this book and awesome connection and chemistry between Sera Jericho. These two have been fighting their feelings for one another for years but now, Jericho is ready to get and keep the only woman he has ever loved. I really enjoyed this book and I really hope that Asher and Evan get their own books! I would recommend this book and Ms. Ella as a wonderful author.
I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Loved this one! It brought the angst, without being unsafe! And I FREAKIN adore the secret virgin trope. The sweet, sweet thrill of when the hero discovers the woman he’s wanted and yearned for, been eaten up over jealousy over, thought she belonged to another man, ACTUALLY belongs only to him!
Safe. Hero has been celibate for years, since meeting heroine and his past before that is never mentioned. Heroine was married to hero’s cousin, but they had a friendship and no physical intimacy; she is a virgin, has only ever kissed the hero and belongs only to him. No others, no cheating, no abuse and HEA with epilogue
Jericho cannot believe that is cousin left him to take care of the man's wife and kid when he passes away. Why would his cousin torture him that way? Sera cannot understand why her husband would be so cruel as to force her to interact with Jericho. There is a bit of a history here, a few misunderstandings and passion that burns so very bright. I was glued to the pages, the sparks between them are undeniable. Their happy ending put a big smile on my face, 5 stars!
Sera married Michael, Jericho's cousin. All is not what it seems though and when Michael passes away after losing his battle to cancer he leaves Jericho the responsibility of providing for Sera in his will. There are some secrets that Sera is not sure she'll be able to keep now that Michael is gone and Jericho definitely wants the truth. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
I loved this one sooooooo much!!!! When you start this one, you wont like Jericho very much. But then you’ll read a few more pages and you will absolutely fall in love with him! Sera, him and Asher are the best! Michael truly did bring them together. A perfect family!
This was definitely a page turner. Jericho's cousin has died and his will is full of surprises. Especially Sera and Asher who are left for Jericho's care. Things are not as they seem and Jericho amd Sera learn to let the past go. I was consumed with this read and I devoured it. Jericho and Sera have passionate love for each other that will leave you breathless.
This was a good, possessive read. This is about Sera and Jericho. Their first meeting is kind of glossed over but you find out how they meet. Jericho is a good guy to Sera and very alpha. I loved it. Sera is a sweet woman that just wants to be loved. This is a good book.
Such a great read. In the beginning I was so heartbroken. Sera could not catch a break. I felt like everything was going wrong especially when Jericho came into her life. But I must say through everything she made it out happy, and finally got her family that she always dream about.
un insta-love que no me pareció tan insta-love y que estuvo bastante chévere. me encantan este tipo de novelas cortas para pasar el rato, y siento que esta en particular fue de las más decentes que he leído en un tiempo.
His Will was about Jericho Bancroft and Sera James. Three years before the book started, then 18-year-old Sera had been living in a women's shelter when Michael, Jericho's cousin, hired her to be the nanny to his newborn son. Not long after moving her into his home, Michael learned he was terminally ill. Knowing he could not leave his son at the mercy of his family, he asked Sera to marry him...a marriage in name only...and he would put her name on the baby's birth certificate so that his son was protected. Shortly before the wedding ceremony, Sera met Jericho and, with the chemistry high between them, asked him to kiss her. Before either of them could take things further, they were interrupted by Michael, and Jericho learned that she was to be his cousin's wife within the hour. The fact she had kissed him while engaged to another man angered him, and from that point on, he pegged her as a wh*re. Three years after they were married, Michael died from his illness. After the funeral came the reading of the will, during which everyone learned that Jericho had been left the bulk of his cousin's estate, along with the task of making certain Sera and his child were both taken care of for the rest of their lives. The story was pretty straightforward, with an angst level at medium, and the drama a bit higher. The emotional rollercoaster ride was full of twists and turns, and the plot was constantly changing. There was a touch of humor with the plot-moppet always in one scene or another. Most authors who include a child or two in their story usually leave them out for almost the entire book. That wasn't the case here. The little boy was often taking part, and he made things a bit more enjoyable for it. The two main characters were well-developed and mature. Both also had a lot of room for growth, and the author made certain the reader was able to watch that happen. The push-pull between them was fun to read about, and the issues that had started at the beginning weren't drawn out to the end. No, they were dealt with in quick succession and in such a way that it left no doubt that Jericho and Sera were each growing in character. It was a nice change of pace to see the two main characters actually working things out together rather than hiding everything until the end of the book and leaving loose ends that didn't get fixed. Because this was such a completely worked-out setting, I gave the book a five-star rating, and I will be adding it to my Keeper for the Shelves collection.
Hero:"There hasn't been anyone before you and there won't be anyone after. You're all I see when you're not even there." Jericho is a virgin and remained faithfully one when he tore himself away from the woman he fell in love with 3 years ago and the kiss they shared when they first met, only to feel betrayed as it is Sera, his cousins wife to be. Heroine: She married the Hero's cousin Michael (who is asexual, had sex with a woman, not the h just to see if he would like it, he figured that sex wasn't for him, but the women he slept with was pregnant and he wanted his son and easily got full custody). This is where our heroine comes in, the Hero's cousin contributes to the shelter the heroine was staying in and worked at the daycare there. He makes an offer to the young 18 year old to be a full time nanny to his son and move in with him, she agrees. When he finds out that he is terminally ill, he proposes to marry her in paper only and be the mother to his son, so his son can grow up with a semblance of a family and she already attached to Asher (the pudgy cute son) she accepts. She loves Micheal (the cousin) but in a platonic way. Before the wedding she instantly falls in love with our hero Jericho and kisses him, she wanted to feel true loves kiss before becoming a "wife" and keeping her word to Micheal. The story starts with Micheal already passing from cancer and his vulture of a family wanting his fortune. Micheal and Sera never kissed, never were intimate, and it is revealed to Jericho (H) when he breaks her virginity and after their passionate night, she tells him everything. Yes, the Hero and the heroine are both virgins and each other's first and only, which is a beautiful thing, yes he was insulting to the Sera, thinking that this was a real marriage and having his heart torn to shreds, but quickly decides that even though she was with another and bore his son (which she didn't and wasn't but that is what he thought), Sera and Asher would be his. I loved this story and the hero and heroine being each others one and only in all things love and lust, both virgins experiencing everything for the first time together after 3 years of longing is what made this book romantic in all ways! I would consider this book safe, the h was married but in paper no intimacy, no romantic or sexual love, so a pseudo OM. the H was faithful and had no sexual past. no cheating no OW HEA
Second chance romance, she marries Micheal who is Jericho’s cousin to help him raise his son that was conceived by a first attempt night stand. Jericho thinks Micheal and Sera love each other but for Sera it’s the other way around and she likes Jericho but he doesn’t notice. He kisses her without knowing he was going to marry Micheal 2 hours later. Sera has a not so good past and Micheal saves her by proposing a nanny live in position and then to keep Asher safe by marrying her and putting her name on Asher’s birth certificate. Micheal and Sera loved each other but it was like sibling love and no lustful attraction at all. After Micheal dies all properties and money is left for Jericho including him taking care of Sera and Asher. He does and he gets time to reconnect with Sera and finally learns the qualms of the past and how she isn’t Asher’s bio mom. So yh he claims her and Lucas who is Michaels stepbrother causes drama by bringing Asher’s bio mom in the mixture and filing a potential lawsuit that was gone the moment he attached Sera. THIS MAN JERICHO IS SUCH A GOOD MAN LIKE FR. This man spent 700k to free the zoo for a day because she has social anxiety of going outside AHHHHHH. They have another daughter Evangeline and I want her story and also Archie’s.
