Wren Delacroix and Caius Reilly would be celebrating if it weren’t for the fact that they’re the main suspects for the crime.
They weren’t together that night.
Though both of them maintain their innocence, neither of them quite believes the other. It’s not as if they haven’t talked about killing him before. It’s not as if Hawk didn’t deserve it.
But with the due date for the birth of their new daughter looming, they decide to give each other the benefit of the doubt and look for other suspects. Unofficially, of course. Their connections to Hawk mean they’re not allowed to investigate the case in any official capacity.
It feels good to have a case again.
But their lack of trust for each other erodes everything they are.
And with the baby coming soon, they need to rely on each other now more than ever.
Wren and Reily are about to become parents when they are called in as possible suspects in the murder of Hawk Marner. Neither one has a good alibi, but they question each other about the others whereabouts. Thing go from bad to worse when someone they know and trusted isn't who they really are. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Possibly not. Another good story with Wren, Reilly, Maliah, and serial killers. Started right away with the serial killer POV, and I just KNEW it was him all along! Haha I was super happy to see Maliah more in the story, especially hopefully, her happiness in the end.
Needs more Proofreading. In the beginning of the book it mentioned Karen 'Nielson' when it should have been Freeman. Also, in book 9, Wren told Kimora her due date was in April but this book started January 17th and she was 8mo pregnant?
Other than that, it was a great read! I would definitely read more about Wren and Reilly if any future books are published.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
