Do you have 5 minutes a day to develop a new mindset? In the face of inevitable daily and life challenges, often the only thing you can control is your perspective. However, our natural human tendency, biologically wired for survival, is to look for the negative. The negative thinking can lead us into a downward cycle into stress, depression, anxiety, and anger. Positive Thinking will not ask you to recite affirmations you don’t believe in. Instead, it takes a unique approach, offering daily prompts based on science-based approaches—solution-focused, motivational, and positive psychology therapies. Answering the therapeutic questions—a prompt for each day for 8 weeks—will orient you toward gratitude, lessons learned, and the unique qualities, attitudes, and supports that are often overlooked but can be mined for “gems” for better coping. All this in 5 minutes a day!

Having worked in the mental health field and also suffering from mental illness I found this guided journal excellent. There is no question that people need more than medication. I loved one of the questions posed, "what did you say to yourself?" Day 8 was very personal for me. I feel I can benefit benefit from some attention to this. I also really liked the idea that it is easier to think of more helpful thoughts than "changing a negative thought". On my road to better mental health I like things that bring me insight and self-esteem.
This workbook is a wonderful tool for anyone who is working on keeping their thinking balanced. It in no way promotes any “toxic positivity”, but instead helps a person feel empowered to deal with what life throws at them. I love how the journaling questions help with cultivating healthy self talk and self esteem, so you end up with a positive outlook on your resources and abilities. Well done!
This little book is a great tool for guided reflection. Journaling is an amazingly useful tool, but associating this book helps you realize aspects of your life that you don't pay much attention to. It has really raised my self-awareness!
