After Mab’s escape to Fae realm, the only way to stop a war is to risk a war.
With Nigellus poised to attack the Fae forces massed at Dhuinne’s gate, Neveah must decide what she is willing to sacrifice to alter the balance of power between long-standing supernatural enemies.
Hell’s forces will soon spill into the human realm, and if the Fae queen gets her way, no safe haven will remain anywhere for humans, vampires, or demons.
There’s only one possibility that might bring a halt to the encroaching madness. Neveah’s people washed their hands of the other races’ conflict millennia ago, but if she can somehow persuade them to help, they could put an end to Mab’s power-mad ambitions as easily as snuffing a candle flame.
A famous queen in a book once believed six impossible things before breakfast. Neveah would settle for achieving one impossible thing before doomsday.

The Sixth Demon is a new urban fantasy romance series by R. A. Steffan, set in the same world as the bestselling series The Last Vampire. Download Book Three today, and return to a world shared by humans, angels, demons, fae, and vampires. It’s a place where the supernatural threatens the mundane, nothing is as it seems, and love will either be the world’s downfall—or its salvation.
Series arcs set in this world:
The Last Vampire (six books) Vampire Bound (four books) Forsaken Fae (three books) The Sixth Demon (four books)
USA Today bestselling author R. A. Steffan lives in New Mexico, where the sunsets paint the mountains purple, and roadrunners roam the desert endlessly in search of their coyote victims. When she’s not busy writing stories about people loving each other in all sorts of different and interesting ways, she can be found taking care of her small menagerie of critters.
A rebel to the core, she is currently sticking it to the man by illegally harvesting graywater from the kitchen and bathroom sinks to water trees outside. This fearless disregard for societal norms extends to her writing, as well. There, you will find polyamory along with straight, gay, bisexual, and non-gender conforming love of all flavors. You will also find families of choice, profound friendships, adventure, danger, and good triumphing over evil.
That, and sex. Lots of sex. Most of which is not the vanilla variety.
Not all roses and sunshine! OK, none, really. It's all up in the air on what will happen, will they find help, will they find the answer to the oncoming weapon!!!?!?!??? Yea....this book doesn't give those answers. It's the search part of the story.
There are wow, funny, sassy, awww and oh my moments. Spicy moment is again just one moment, and this time not as passion and hot, more slow and steamy.
I do like these characters because they have been developed over other series. I jump into this book series with fully developed characters, and even the side ones are like MCs by now.
My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book.
I finished listening to this book four days ago and since then have attempted to write my review several times but each time I've deleted it as it just gave too much away. So I'm going to attempt to write a non-spoiler review. Here goes: I'm loving this series especially as it features all the characters who now feel like old friends Edward, Rans, Zorah, Len etc. The author continues to give us more insight into Nigellus and allows us to see his softer side, yes this Demon of Fate does have a softer side! The world-building and descriptive writing make her books so wonderful to listen to especially with the excellent narration of Gwendolyn Druyor who has done an outstanding job on almost all of Ms Stefan's books.
In this instalment, the mad Fae Queen has made it back to the Fae Realm and is building her super weapon readying for the attack on Hell itself. Neveah has managed to escape Hell but her attempts to help come to nought. Plans are made to ensure the survival of Hell's inhabitants but will there be time to put them in place?
I didn’t want to stop listening and I thought I had grown used to the cliffhanger endings which R.A. Steffan is so good at but no I wasn't prepared for the doozy at the end of this book, I just sat there and all I could think was NO!!!!!
I need to know what follows Ms Steffan, please write faster
Poor nigellus he really is misunderstood and has a big heart.his soul is a good match for a angel.
I wonder if he will transcend to angel? Not sure if demons are fallen angels in this series of course that could of happened thousands of years ago so they are not aware of their family tree.
I got to read the first 7 books then had a break (lost track of next realise) then picked up and read on from 7-16 sadly the last book in the Nigellus journey is out in about four months so have to wait on that cliff hanger poor Navaeh but if she has blood she can track right? (Sorry don't want to give spoilers) The whole series from book 1 to 16 has been interesting you follow journeys with couples finding love and how they fit together in a crazy world of human and supernatural but they are a team of good people all friends making a Scooby gang of misfits.the open sex was a little much and kind of our of characters for some.(is this written by a man?) But the friendship bonds are very sweet and ride or die. This series has room for a spin off series where humans now know and they are like the guardian's like FBI called in to save humans from fae ? Or maybe that's book 18?
I reached the point where I simply didn't care about the war anymore. Even though there were preparations for the war, and we were told why the war would be catastrophic, it just wasn't enough for me to care. Maybe if there had been -more history about the previous war between the demon, fae and angellic races, -more world building regarding the after effects of that war (we actually didn't get much world building about the demons in the demon realm- only the human tithelings, and we got no world building of the fae or angellic realms) -or more page time with the persons who were actually calling the shots in the current war (the demon council and the mad queen), any of the above could have added more significance to the story. This simply wasn't the case.
I also didn't care much about Nigelus' and Neveah's entanglement. They had great sexual chemistry but aside from that I didn't feel any other chemistry between them. They still acted like mere acquaintances.
Queen Mab is going forward with her plot to annihilate Hell. Nigellus and Neveah are desperate to find a way to stop her. If not that, at least rescue Hell’s inhabitants.* The attraction between the two is manifesting into more than simply lust.
*I thought Mab was going to eventually decimate Earth also. Isn't moving everyone out of Hell just a stalling tactic? Do they really think the junior vampires will be able to turn the tide?
Wow really wasn't expecting my favorite demon to fall.... I just knew our only angel would pull a miracle from some where and save her man but i guess we have to save that for book 6... After all the hate pushed his way through the books everyone is finally appreciating his sacrifice to keep those he considers family protected hurry up and get my demon back together my heart can't take this.....
I’m worn out with the twist and turns, and mad chases. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. For a demon, Nigellus has a lot of love in his heart. He has no hesitation in doing the right thing and in doing the right thing putting himself in a world of pain. I must have the next book.
Brilliant edge of your seat read. The war against Mab is getting closer and our spy master Demon is carrying the weight of hell on his shoulders. Great characters that have become firm favourites through all these crossover series. It ends on a cliffhanger, so be warned and I cannot wait to see where the author will take us next.
Another wonderful journey of incite to this fascinating world. The characters connections and continued development are exceptional. Page turning suspense and immersion kept me completely focused on the story. Can’t wait for the next book.
really enjoyed this book! I cried quite a bit. Heavy topics regarding immortality and home being a place one can no longer reach. Man. 😭😭. Can't wait to finish the series. I really adore Neveah.
