Ignorance covered by a lot of cherry picking.
This is some involved with Crain's for over 50 years. He thinks being an engineer qualifies him as a scientist. It is a non focused screed on how he just knows better. A total waste of time. Just some pompous 72 year old facing irrelevance so stirs the part.
I would suggest a better starting point for his reading pleasure should have been basic chemistry. This a total waste of time. Nothing more than an old fossil who cannot handle change. Lost in the past pushed to the side by his business partners he goes for relevance. And like any idiot only does harm. Not one sentence is based on his participation. Just a quest to destroy others and in the process leaves this junk science as his legacy. Please go back to making Crain's for the coal industry.

Worthwhile in the end. The first 180 pages ramble and struggle to make a point. Lots of quotes from the ipcc and others and attempts at pointing out myriad inconsistencies. Really hard to read. But then, he gets to the real points. The first is follow the money. AGW is well funded. Criticism of AGW will end your career. AGW is a hypothesis. It seems to be easily falsified, but nobody is allowed to do it. But the real driver is transfer of wealth from rich countries to poor ones. We’re getting taken for a ride here. We need more leaders to challenge the AGW agenda. Read the last 40 pages of this book. You’ll be glad you did.

Lies, all lies!
I don't mean this book, I mean the climate alarmists who are relieving us of our money. I am an old man. I remember learning that by the turn of the century (the year 2000) most of the US would be covered by glaciers due to global cooling. The legends continued: kids born in the 1990s would never see snow, Long Island would be under water by 2010, by 2020 the Arctic would be ice free. I could go on, but you see my point. Attempted computer modeling of a chaotic system is not a justification for depriving citizens of a livelyhood.

AGW is a lie, supported only by pseudo science
With a strong science and mathematical background, I have always questioned the Anthropogenic global warming arguments. This book, actually using the scientific method, shows without question that the global warming zealots arguments are fraudulent and based on hypothesis easily disputed with proper scientific analysis. The cycles of the sun and the movements of the earth rotation and elliptical shifting are infinitely more likely to be the cause of climate change than man and carbon.

Excellent and detailed descriptions of the actual science measurements and observations of how they should be interpreted. Guy gets into the weeds (sometimes a bit too deeply for a reader not as technology savvy), but thoroughly, to identify the disconnect between the true science of global warming, and the woke version that seems to be the dogma circulated these days. Reading chapters 11, 12, and the conclusion are incredibly insightful and should receive more press circulation so that us "ordinary" folks are aware of the propaganda we are being fed about global warming.

Mr. Mitchell's book is a deep dive into the economic and political realities that drive the carbon/global warming hypothesis, citing, in particular, misrepresentations in the findings of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, and the potential loss of financial freedom and civil liberties. He includes an extensive analysis of the thermodynamics involved in climate processes, finding today's warming to be only moderate, and solely attributable to natural changes in the Earth's relation to the Sun- in changes in solar energy, such as the eleven-year sunspot cycle.

Well thought out argument
I for one believe that climate change does exist, however, I do not believe that man has had or will have much if any effect on it. Our world is a living breathing planet and has taken care of us and given us this fabulous place to live in. We should strive more in an honest and forthright way to understand it and coexist with one another and the earth.
