Is Octo-Cat a new daddy? You've gotta be kitten me!
It's kittens for Octo-Cat when an orphaned litter shows up at our doorstep. And although the needy litter may be cute, the deadly mystery they bring with them is anything but.
Charles has been hinting at a big surprise he’s planned for our first Valentine’s Day together, but the arrival of the kittens quickly changes everything. Now he’s helping me figure out who put the babies on my porch and why their paws are covered in blood. Meanwhile Octo-Cat is left to play babysitter to the unruly brood while we investigate, and he’s none too happy about it.
Right, so all we have to do is keep the kittens safe, solve their mystery, find forever homes for them, and try to find a way to salvage Valentine’s Day. That shouldn’t be too impossible…
Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
Lawless Litter by Molly Fitz is the 11th a Pet Whisperer PI series. Angie Russo finds a box of kittens on her doorstep with blood on them. Octo-Cat is not happy with the new additions who believe him to be their daddy. Paisley, though, is tickled with the kittens who call her mommy. Angie enlists Charles to help her find out where the kittens came from. Nan works on finding good homes for the adorable munchkins while Octo-Cat is left to babysitting much to his annoyance. Angie wants to get this case wrapped up before Valentine’s Day because Charles told her he has something special planned for them. Lawless Litter was a delightful story. I laughed so often while reading this cute tale especially the scenes with Octo-Cat and the kittens. Lawless Litter can be read as a standalone for those new to the Pet Whisperer PI series. I found this story a quick and easy read (I sat down and read it straight through). Octo-Cat and Pringle are just outrageous with their demands. Charles is such a sweetie. He is the perfect partner for Angie. I do not know how Angie puts up with all the chaos in her life. Molly Fitz wrote an amusing tale that lightened up my day. Lawless Litter has Angie, Charles, Nan, Paisley, Octo-Cat and Pringle involved in a hilarious mystery involving adorable, playful kittens. Lawless Litter has cute kittens, a battered box, a tricky raccoon, a maddening moggy, and a bathetic beau.
This is a quiet, fairly straightforward cosy mystery as Pet Whisperer PI has its own case to deal with when a box of kittens with bloody paws is found in Angi Russo's doorstep. The five kittens cause a ruckus in the life of Octo Cat who tries to make them in his image; Paisley who wants to "mommy" them, and even Pringle who tries to make new deals based upon what he says he knows or could find out.
What a way to plan a Valentine's Day!
Molly Fitz is an amazing storyteller that continues to entertain and release great books. Highly Recommended 5/5
[Disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]
Someone left a litter of kittens on Angie's doorstep. Octo-Cat is not happy. But when he is babysitting, he teaches them how to be a cat. That can't be good. The kittens had blood on their paws and Angie has no idea who left them there. Not only is Octo-Cat demanding payment for helping her find out about the kittens, her neighborhood raccoon is also demanding payment for helping. She can't afford both of them. All she wanted to do was spend a nice day with Charles but they end up looking after the kittens. What will they do?
Angie, Octo-cat, Nan, and Paisley, along with Angie’s boyfriend, Charles, search to find who left five kittens with bloody paws on their doorstep. This is a funny book and I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I borrowed a copy of this book from Kindle Unlimited.
Don't get me wrong, I adore Pet Whisperer P.I. books. But this book just wasn't exciting enough for me. A few kittens with blood on their paws ending up on her porch? Sure, that sounds interesting. But not interesting enough to be the only interesting thing going on in the book.
Not to say, the conclusion wasn't very satisfying. It reminded me of Dog-eared Delinquent's ending. Still pretty readable though.
This is a fun light hearted mystery with no dead bodies involved and a high cuteness factor involved. This is such a fun series and I admire the author imagination, the conversation she dreams up between Angie and the animals is so funny. I use to think it would be cool to know what my pet was saying but after reading this series I have decided I am better off not knowing otherwise I wouldn't sleep, Cats and nunchucks. The only bed thing I have to say is the mystery is sadly lacking and I know Angie is a private investigator but bribing animals to track down clues is not running an investigation. Other than that I loved it (and the cover) the thought of Octo-cat shaping young kittens minds, good job for Paisley the dog and for great characters. Angie and Charles have the rare chance to spend the day together ahead of any Valentine celebrations. That is until a box of five kittens covered in blood is discovered on there front porch. With no note and the kittens unable to say much Angie and Charles launch an investigation into what happened. But with Charles running off to buy kitten food and Angie bargaining with Pringle for help who will look after the kittens? Octo-cat is the king of the house the last thing he wants is for five fur balls stealing his limelight or calling him daddy. Can Angie find out the mystery behind the kittens before any Valentine plans need to be cancelled? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
When a box of kittens covered in blood shows up on Angie and Octo-Cat's doorstep, Angie has a mystery on her hands. Where did the orphans come from and are they injured are just two questions that Angie must ask. Charles came over to spend a relaxing day with Angie but soon changes his plans to help her with all that's going on including compromising with the animals in her life. Valentine's Day is also just around the corner. It'll be the first one for Angie and Charles and he has a day all planned out. But when Angie wants to play matchmaker, will he give those plans up?
This is a wonderful series and this book is no exception. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept hooked until the end, reading it in one sitting. Angie's relationship with Octo-Cat ranges from touching to exasperating and all the emotions in between making the book an enjoyable read. I was given an ARC of this book and this is my honest review. I'm eager for the next book and highly recommend both this book and the series which I suggest you read in order.
Lawless Litter by Molly Fitz is another fun book in the Pet Whisperer P.I. series and brings new type of mystery to our animal talking friend Angie and her friends. We have some adorable kittens left on her doorstep and Angie has the task of finding out who left them there and why, especially since their paws had blood on them. Against his will (at first) Octo-Cat (the pernickety cat) is forced to kitty sit while does her investigating with her boyfriend Charles. Then sweet little Paisley (the Chihuahua)) takes over with her cat puppies duties and takes them very seriously. Finding clues and help from Pringles (the racoon) they find the body. Grandma Nan finds home for the litter and a stray dog that was added to the mix. This is a book that is short and easy to read plus full of fun with some my favorite friends!
Review for Lawless litter left on Amazon and good readsThis is book eleven in the series. I love these books. They can each be read as a stand alone book. It would be a great series to read with your child.Lawless Litter is a cute story, Someone left a battered bloody box of five kittens on Angie's porch. They call Octo-Cat daddy even though he is not their dad. They work on tracking down who left them and finding forever homes for the kittens. Lots of things happen and I don't want to spoil the book for you. Pick up a copy andget to reading. You won't regret it. Angela had a near death encounter and since then is able to understand and communicate with animals. Because of this she has become the "human" of Octo Cat, a selfish, spoiled and very snarky cat, but she loves him anyway. Part of the household are Nan, Angelas Granny, her chihuahua Paisley and little horror raccoon named Pringle. Angela and Octo Cat run a PI agency but thanks to a very generous allowance from Octo Cats deceased owner they can live a life of leisure.
The PI skills are needed when a bloodie box with 5 kittens is delivered to their front porch and nobody knows what to do with them or where they come from. The kittens decided, to the horror of Octo Cat, that he is their Daddy. Till "Mom" Paisley is taking over.
The blood is still a mystery and worrying everybody. So they have to put their PI hats on to investigate.
Take five tiny kittens and a homeless no-name mutt - all of them covered in blood, add a crazy, manipulative raccoon, plus Angie’s Nan in hyper-drive and Octo-Cat might have met his “Waterloo”! Believe it or not, this is a wonderfully romantic addition to the Pet Whisperer series, despite all of the usual antics for Angie and her increasing menagerie.
I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. I so enjoyed the interactions between all of the animals and Angie, plus the various romances that were highlighted truly warmed my heart. A very good Valentines (or any time) book.
When a litter of kittens show up on her front porch with blood on their paws Angie already knows that Valentine's Day will not be as planned. Angie and Charles must find out who left the kittens for her and where did the blood come from while a grumpy Octo-Cat must play babysitter. Can they get this mystery solved in time to not ruin their plans or will their special night be ruined? Will Octo Cat stay grumpy or will he finally enjoy his new charges and give Angie a break from his grumpy mood. Loved this pet detective story and highly recommend it to everyone who is a pet lover. Definitely another 5 star story and characters, grab your copy today and start reading.
Snarky Octo-Cat made a longer appearance in this book. I even chuckled out loud a couple times. For me, Molly Fitz's writing of this series has, at this point, fallen flat enough that I'm moving on. The relationship between Angie and Charles is barely existent. Maybe Molly Fitz can't find the right tone for it. I get that she probably wouldn't want it to be distracting to the story line, but the story lines have become just as boring. The reason for the bloody kittens was not believable, which is becoming a thing with this series. I've noticed discrepancies throughout the series up to and including this book... Yep, I'm done.
This is the third book I've read in the Pet Whisper P.I. series. Every time I've read, I've enjoyed parts of the book but overall have found that they fall a little flat for me. Lawless Litter is an adorable story about a box of kittens that show up on Angela's front door. Parts of it made me laugh. I thought the mystery was a little too simple. I'm used to cozies where something is truly at stake and didn't feel that here. Also, there's not a lot of action that happens and it became a bit boring for me. Overall, not a bad book by any stretch, but I don't think that this is the series for me.
I usually enjoy a light cozy mystery every once in awhile. They make a nice break from my usual reads. Unfortunately this one was not really enjoyable. It was a little more silly than I was expecting , leaning toward childish. I almost set it aside but made myself finish it.
It wasn't horrible but didn't have any real mystery. If you just want an easy, light- hearted read than this might be for you. If you enjoy real mysteries, you should probably skip it.
Such a fun story! Angela has her hands full with her over the top attitude Octo cat and Pringle the raccoon that invades privacy and is just plain annoying. This book will have you laughing out loud at all the antics that happen trying to figure out crimes or just life! Can be read as stand alone but the whole series is so fabulous you will want read them all. Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This is another feel good story in the series that will make you smile and laugh as you read. There were more animals added to the growing menagerie and some cute animal antics developed as well. Poor Angie Russo tried to figure out how the five kittens ended up on her doorstep while also having to carter to the whims of Octo-Cat and Pringo, that pesky raccoon. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Every book in this series deserves more than 5 stars. The animals are hilarious and so much fun. Pringle, the raccoon, is a laugh a minute. But as always my favorite is Octo-Cat. He's such a meanie sometimes, but at other times he's so loving. I really wish his long distance girlfriend could move in with him. Absolutely a great series and I always look forward to the next adventure with Octo-Cat!!
Who doesn't want to be able to converse with her or his pet(s)? Angie has an accident with a coffee pot and comes to only to find she can talk to and understand the cat who inherits a mansion and huge estate. From then on they help other animals solve the murders of their humans. Eventually, Angie can converse with the other animals. A fun series.
This was the worst book of the series so far.very disappointed. No real mystery. Felt
Like a grade schooler wrote this, is the writer just getting bored with the characters? That might be the real mystery here. There is a real lack of effort in book 11. So sad because I enjoyed the series up til now and what the he'll was up with ending, it's write like boredom set in and a oh well this is good enough place to end. Sad.
Kittens are left on Angie's doorstep , and the call Octo- Cat "daddy ". Angie investigates to find out who left her the kittens. This is a light mystery with Angie making deals with her cat and a raccoon. I love the idea of booty boot camp. This is a quick read. I read it in 1 hour and probably 10-15 mins. There is preview of the next book. I like this series.
I quite enjoyed this story. Angela finds 5 little kittens in a box outside her front door, and they are covered in blood. Angela and Charles and Octo Cat and Pringle must work together to find out where they came from, who left them there, and why they've got blood on them. Join the gang as they work to figure out the mystery and maybe at the end, Nan might have a great surprise coming. Loved this story.
Molly Fitz has given us more adorable animals, kittens! I love the reactions of the three furry residences of Angie’s home. Octavius, aka Octo-cat, isn’t thrilled to share his room with the kittens and takes full advantage of that fact. I would love to have Pringle’s negotiation skills or to love as Paisley. These stories are so delightful and I look forward to the next one.
Angie and Octo-cat are at it again. It seems that every story has them finding homes for animals, they may be in the wrong business. There is the usual cast of characters with lots of humour and animals misbehaving. Angie has her hands full but with Charles to help her she manages to solve the mystery and find time for romance.
I received a free advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. A litter of bloody kittens is dropped on Angies' doorstep, who did it and why? They think Octo-cat is their daddy, much to his dismay and then Paisley comes in and thinks they are hers. This is a fun story, I enjoyed it very much and I recommend it.
Angie and her animal friends are at it again solving mysteries and finding forever homes while doing a bit of match making on the side. Molly Fitz takes us on a pleasant romp on Lawless Litter (Pet Whisperer Book 11) on one end of Blueberry Bay to the other. She has Angie and Charles bring joy to people, animals and readers alike. Talk about a Cozy mystery!
Boring story. All about finding a litter of kittens with blood on them, & tracking down where they came from. There was no crime involved in the story at all. It mostly concerned her interactions with the Pet Crew, & their bribe demands before helping out. Not small time bribes. like give me a treat, but bribes like give me another TV set.

Well. It’s a fun story, it just wasn’t what I was expecting from the way it started. In fact, I’m a little confused as to what the point of the story was. This book felt so much like Keystone Cops, chasing their tails, going nowhere fast. And I thought the answer to the mystery was a huge let down after all the effort Angie and Co. put into trying to solve it.
