Outer Banks Mystery #3

Last Seen at Lighthouse Lane Book 3

Rate this book
Laura Williams hasn’t stepped foot in her hometown since she was old enough to leave.

But when a doctor calls about her mom’s declining medical condition, she has no choice but to return home and look after her.

Besides, it couldn’t be as bad as living in a city with the man who broke her heart. 2 weeks before their wedding.

As a 35-year-old journalist, hanging onto her job by a thread, and healing from a broken heart, Laura goes back to North Carolina to take care of her mom, agreeing to take on any stories that come her way.

When she arrives, the small-town is on edge because a thirteen-year-old girl has gone missing from Lighthouse Lane…again.

Memories come flooding back, and it all sounds eerily similar to when Laura’s best friend went missing from that exact location 17 years ago…

It gets more complicated when she realizes she knows the missing girl’s father. Harry Matthews, who is just as handsome as she remembers.

Laura makes it her mission to do whatever it takes to help Harry find his daughter.

Join Laura and Harry in this small-town romantic mystery as they work together to unravel this high-stakes case, while facing their past and finding love in the most unexpected ways.

This is Book 3 of 6 in the Outer Banks Mystery series.

Great follow up to book two! The author once again brings strong characters and an intriguing storyline. She does a terrific job building the story and had me glued to the pages right to the end. It's well written with perfectly painted scenes and is a fantastic story. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Still Searching for Clues . . .

Laura Williams and Detective Greta Hughes found themselves once again at the hospital looking through a window at the recently rescued twins, Peggy and Patricia, reunited with their parents. Meredith Cooper had escaped on a boat. There was no trace of her deadbeat husband or his sister either. Conrad had been the one who had kidnapped Trin.

Laura continues to look for more information about the kidnappings including that of her childhood best friend, Chloe Grigg, who was abducted 20 years ago. The similarities are still mounting up. Trin and Harry are staying with Laura and her mother, and Trin seems to be recovering from her harrowing experience. Are Laura and Harry getting closer with each other since they are all together right now? Will more evidence become known about Chloe’s situation from 20 years ago? Will they find out more about the kidnapping ring?

As we begin to get into the story and mystery more and more we are realizing that not everything is as it seems. There are secrets from the past that are slowly creeping in and by book 3 you are now a little on the edge of your seat.

Henry and Laura seem to be getting closer and you start to realize that there may be feelings there that are building and they probably existed in the past. The working relationship between Greta and Laura is starting to show small bouts of working together and you find out just what Greta holds against Laura and your heart breaks just a tiny bit. It gives you some insight into what makes her hurt and humanizes Greta, which was needed.

This series is getting good at this point…

I am not writing a long review as things are speeding up, but I don't want to give too much away in the review. More kids have been found, suspects are on the run, everyone is looking for more clues. read the first three in one day. Read the 4th yesterday and now looking to get five and six. I have put down all the other books I need to read so I can figure out the ending of this. Sylvia, it is an amazing story.

I keep thinking, “why am I reading these?”… they are not particularly well-written, full of grammatical errors, thin plot lines, and predictable “mystery” tropes. But, they are a nice light, quick read, at <100 pages each, and they don’t require a lot of intense thought and analysis. Perfect for the dog days of summer and a nice break from some of the more “chewy” stuff we read for book club. I confess - I bought the rest of the books in the series as a bundle on Amazon and dammit, I’m gonna finish them! :-)

Book three finds Laura seeking more information about the kidnappings including that of her childhood best friend, Chloe. Trin and Harry continue to stay with Laura and her mother even with Penelope’s release from the police. New evidence is provided by a dirty police officer. Part of the kidnapping ring is discovered. Looking forward to Book Four of this series!.

No spoilers with this review. A story that sweeps you up in it's grip and holds your attention from the first page to the last page. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and easy to get to know. The story flows smoothly from page to page and a great weekend read. This is a series you'll want to read in order as each book picks up where the previous one leaves off.

This mystery is getting more and more intense with each book we read. Laura and Harry have discovered more intrigue and we are waiting for more answers but before that we have to unravel the mystery disappearance of Chloe. Cannot wait for the next book. Ms Parker will blow your mind away with this series.

I swear every book in this series just gets better than the last! It’s just a matter of time before something happens between Harry and Laura. I also love the little family they’ve got going between the three of them and Laura’s mom. The ending was literally perfect! And I just KNEW that Barnes had smth to do with it, but him being Meredith’s NEPHEW? I did NOT expect that at all 😳

My least favorite in the series so far. I thought that this one had less suspense than the first 2. I like that each book has been a true continuation of the story line and am interested to see where the last 3 books go.
