Laura Williams hasn’t stepped foot in her hometown since she was old enough to leave.
But when a doctor calls about her mom’s declining medical condition, she has no choice but to return home and look after her.
Besides, it couldn’t be as bad as living in a city with the man who broke her heart. 2 weeks before their wedding.
As a 35-year-old journalist, hanging onto her job by a thread, and healing from a broken heart, Laura goes back to North Carolina to take care of her mom, agreeing to take on any stories that come her way.
When she arrives, the small-town is on edge because a thirteen-year-old girl has gone missing from Lighthouse Lane…again.
Memories come flooding back, and it all sounds eerily similar to when Laura’s best friend went missing from that exact location 17 years ago…
It gets more complicated when she realizes she knows the missing girl’s father. Harry Matthews, who is just as handsome as she remembers.
Laura makes it her mission to do whatever it takes to help Harry find his daughter.
Join Laura and Harry in this small-town romantic mystery as they work together to unravel this high-stakes case, while facing their past and finding love in the most unexpected ways.
This is Book 2 of 6 in the Outer Banks Mystery series.
Another will written mystery family and friends relationships adventure thriller short story by Sage Parker (Outer Banks Mystery book 2). Laura and family and friends are getting back to normal when the daughter goes missing. Laura is supplying leads to the police but they are not interested. The daughter is found alive and things go in a different direction. I would recommend this novella series and author to 👍 readers of mystery novels 👍🔰. Laura and Harry continue to bond while searching for his daughter after her kidnapping. A discovery at the beach opens up more questions about the disappearance of children. This book is a page turner that you won't be able to put down once you start reading. What a great series so far with the best yet to come. Just read a little bit each night before bed. It felt choppy and without an ending. I got the book on kindle unlimited so I didn’t realize this was not book 1. Nor, did I even realize it was a series. So, to appreciate it and the characters more fully, read these in order. Nothing really struck me as 4-5 ⭐️
So now we are on to book two and Laura is knee deep in the middle of the new mystery. She has come in contact with the local Chief of Police only to find out that it is one of her nemesis's from high school. The Chief is not pleased that Laura is back in town and that she and Harry are working together to find Trin. Also, there is something strange about Harry's ex and her new husband and Laura is working with friends of hers in Brazil to find out what they can learn. The Chief gets angry when Laura starts putting things together and realizes that there is a set of security systems along the waterway. Since all of the abductions are happening in the winter when the tourists are not around and many of the hotels and rentals are closed up, the workers on one building and the cameras might be their only hope of finding her. They have found her phone but it is crushed and buried in the sand. Laura's mother and Harry are working hard with the police and Laura to try and come up with some clues as to what actually happened and where they should go forward to try and solve this case. Due to a clue in the sand Laura is able to find Trin and get her to the hospital. Her parents are arrested on supposition and Grace the detective tells Laura that they will be taking Trin to a foster home. Laura can't let this happen as every time she starts to leave Trin she melts down and returns to the terrorized state. She will not talk but will look at Laura and try to communicate. Laura and her mother become the caretakers of Trin and Laura begins to learn more. Trin has let her know there are more victims out there. Will Laura and the group be able to find them and save those kids before it it two late? These books are easy reading and I read three of them yesterday and will be finishing the other two tonight. I can't seem to put them down once I start reading so I know that if you are smart, and I know you all are, you will buy the whole series so as not to have to go out and get another.

Laura Williams watched Trin Matthews, the rescued 13-year-old victim of a kidnapping, who held her gaze through the hospital room window. She would not allow Laura out of her site in the rescue two days earlier where she had been locked on a boat in pitch black darkness for a week. She panicked if anyone tried to separate them.
Now Laura was trying to convince the detective to let Harry, Trin’s father, out of jail since they know he had nothing to do with the kidnapping. They had the step-father Graham’s confession and put him in custody but were still holding Harry and Trin’s mom Penelope until they “sort everything out”. Laura couldn’t help but think about the number of similarities in this case to her friend Chloe’s kidnapping 20 years ago. Detective Greta Hughes asked if Laura could talk to Trin to find out what she meant by her comment about “the others”. And later when Laura saw Trin pull something from the sand on the beach, she stared at the silver chain with a gold ring hanging from it… and she remembered something! The ring was a man's wedding band, and the pattern was familiar – ‘IV IV’ which was Meredith Cooper’s wedding anniversary. Will this give them more to go on in finding the other missing children?
Laura and Harry will continue to work together to find answers in this chilling case. Will the proximity and the chemistry building between them open their hearts to each other? Will they make progress on this case?
Title: Last Seen at Lighthouse Lane Author: Sage Parker Publisher: S.P. Series: An Outer Banks Mystery Book 2 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Last Seen at Lighthouse Lane" by Sage Parker
My Sentiments:
This series picks up where series Book One leaves off after trying to solve the twenty-year disappearance of an old friend. Now another disappearance shows up. Will these two have anything to do with each other? What will happen as these two Laura and Harry are working together to find out what has happened? This series will keep your attention as one stays tentative about what is going on in the suspenseful read as the story continues to build. Be ready for a short read with lots of drama, mystery, and suspense that will take one to the end only wanting more...that coming in the next Book 3 that is coming next. Yes, this is a cliffhanger!
Sage Parker is a new author for this reader. As a retired high school English and Creative Writing teacher, I am not sure why Sage Parker titles all the books in the series the same and with very similar covers, I find this confusing. Also I am not fond of cliff hanging endings. As a reader I would like the option to quit a series after each book. That said as a mystery reader, I did enjoy Sage Parker's writing style -just enough description, drama, conflict, suspense for a page turning who did it read. As a retiree I could relate with Laura's dilemma - conflict of job versus caring for a parent. The characters are well rounded and developed. Just not sure if I will read the rest of the series at this time.
The story picks up where book one left off. The mystery surrounding the kidnapping of Trin has gotten more complex. Laura feels as if there’s more behind the scenes going on and just trying to help solve this mystery while being a source of strength for young Trin. It is even more complicated because Trin is the daughter of her high school friend Harry and she has some underlying feelings for him. For whatever reason Greta seems to be pushing against everything Laura thinks she discovers so it leaves you wondering if there’s some underlying jealousy or issue that Greta has or is she possibly involved? This story also has Laura’s mom in it and you see their relationship start to take a new turn while you are dealing with Laura’s secret involving Scott. Can’t wait to continue the series.
Great installment to the series! The author brings another well written book with a cast of strong characters and still the mystery, intrigue and suspense. She moves the story quickly and smoothly with her perfectly painted scenes and kept me reading right to the end. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This book has really captured my mind and Ms Parker is giving us a very intriguing story. The mystery of Trin's abduction continues but also the mystery of the others that Trin was held with. Ms Parker certainly can spin a web of deceipt and I have been caught and am trapped until we uncover the truth. A great instalment to this series that I am eagerly anticipating the next book.

The intrigue builds. Trin has refused to let Laura out of her sight since she was rescued from the boat. Since both parents are in custody, Laura is approved to take care of Trin for the present time. Very intense with a definite cliffhanger.

This is a mystery of disappearances that Laura and Harry are investigating. While they spend time together, they start to get closer, and a bond is formed. I absolutely loved the suspense mixed with the slow progression of a pair coming together. I can't wait to read the next book.

Trin is found by Laura but she is so traumatized that she doesn’t talk. Through artwork, Trin has let Laura know that there are other missing girls. Officer Greta doesn’t like Laura which hasn’t changed much since high school. Harry and Laura team up to find the other girls.

There is a like little mini mysteries solved in each book so far but with more cliff-hangers are happening. I am very intrigued that when Laura is finding the missing kids that someone is watching her. I think that the cops know something about this too. I can't stop reading this. These are interesting stories but, if you don't want to feel like you are being forced into sequels, don't even start the first book. I really think these could have been consolidated into 2, or maybe into 1 book. They are a good read and each one does have an individual story, but you will want to read all of them. It is a bit of a continuing saga.
Finished this earlier today, and I must say I’m really glad I finally read these since I’ve had them downloaded in the kindle app for a long while! Really starting to ship Laura and Harry. Penelope has got to have smth to do with this shit, right? Anyways, the ending was even better than the one in the last book.
This installment will blow you away! It is full of suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is an outstanding series you don't want miss. I can't wait for the next installment.

A heart pounding second story for this series. Nail biting from the beginning to the end. Will Greta change her attitude? Who's watching, who is the villain, where's Chloe. As an ARC reader I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
