The Totally True Tales of Minerva Krauss

Rate this book

Hi, I’m Minerva Krauss. You’ve probably heard of me or read one of my books on curse breaking.

Except an old friend with an exceptionally big mouth just revealed a big secret of mine to people I’ve come to care about. The drama has somewhat died down for now, so it’s time to tell my story from the beginning. And my story has a lot of beginnings and ends.

I need to explain to Ravyn why I kept this secret from her and I should probably tell Ripley why I’m so obsessed with the werewolf erotica in her library (They are 6’3, 6’5, and 6’7 and they have names)

I’m not angry about telling my story. I’ve had an interesting life and it’s about time someone got to hear the real story of Minerva Krauss.

What took me so long to join JB's Profane universe I will never know. I've read the Museum of the Profane series and have so many more books in that universe that I have to read. Minerva Krauss is a side character in Museum and the twins' mentor and now she has her own standalone, The Totally True Tales of Minerva Krauss.

I was a bit surprised that the story takes place in the fifties, I don't know why but it never occurred to me. The story was great and I couldn't even really tell until the human world is brought up and all the racism and sexist stuff comes up. JB didn't shy away from the topics but not surprising considering that her books tend to be very open-minded while also bringing to light all kinds of negative issues in the world but in an interesting way.

Minerva was smart and spunky. I loved the fact that while her family was horrible she had an adoptive family that took care of her, giving her the love and support she deserves. Minerva is obviously smart, capable, and hardworking. She knew that she wasn't the strongest witch so she came up with a plan to be the best in a chosen field. With the right mentors, Minerva was able to make her impact in the witching world.

The triplets (yes they are triplets 😉) are absolutely adorable, cute, and excitable. They grew up with Minerva and have an unbreakable bond, the four have protected and cared for each other their entire lives. Heck, that adoptive family are her triplets' parents, they love her just as much and she is clearly a part of their family. The boys are always cuddling her and picking her up and their personalities obviously mesh well, I could feel the love when they are together.

I loved getting to know Minerva's story, she's the twins' mentor and is connected to serval characters in this world. TTToMK had everything I expected from the Profane world, a secret speakeasy run by ghosts, moon orgies, breaking and entering, curses, potions, and so much more. I still have to catch up on the books in the Profane world and more are to come and I can't wait.

OMG so Fantastically Fun & Engaging with all of Trepagnier's usual skills!

I Love that the author is Finally doing some stand-alones for some of the more important Side Characters! I hope the Academy of the Profane trilogy will get released quickly because I won't just read the 1st book & wait, I've got to Binge the whole series together since I get Sooo Engrossed into this World & Characters! I've read Everything (so far) in the Profane world and intend to keep doing so as soon as each trilogy is available & the Stand-alones as well. I hope this world just keeps growing & keeps expanding with the children of Ripley and Rayven & even Their children! I'd also love to know what happens to Freya post Minerva Krauss... Like does she go back to being a Goddess or get Reborn again? It'd be Amazing if there was a way to Immortalize her 3 werewolves, maybe something (or a certain god) could make them into Demigods and they'd be returned to their Primes?
Anyway if you Haven't began reading the other books, you certainly Need to begin with the Library of the Profane before you tackle this Stand-alone. Trust me (a somewhat picky reader, who devours wayyy too many books, Especially Reverse Harem) this is a series you'll Really enjoy even if RH isn't your thing or you're tired of the tropes that can get a bit redundant occasionally. Trepagnier's talent, creativity and skills, as well as her ability to write in laugh out loud Humor and detailed Action & Fight scenes with completely unique and original plots make her an Amazing Author you Need to Read!!! I've enjoyed every book from her that I've read so far, and I imagine that I'll continue to enjoy all the rest since she's Never Disappointed me... That's basically Magical in itself lol!!!

Minerva Krauss is an author and renowned witch known for her curse breaking. This is the story Ms. Trepagnier promised her readers, giving us Minerva’s back story! Just so you all know, if you don’t already, Minerva is either referenced or has appearances in both The Museum of the Profane Series and the Library of the Profane Series. You don’t necessarily have to read them first, but I think it’s a good idea to do so. Anyway, Minerva and her family were servants of the rich and entitled Bloodgood Family. Her father and one of her sisters are total jerks. Also working for the Bloodgood’s are the Thornheart Pack. They are a family of werewolves. Minerva grew up with their kids, especially their sons. Kingston, Jimothy and Grey are Gemini Triplets and are very close to Minerva. After she turns eighteen, they all manage to get into the Academy of the Profane.

Now, remember me mentioning the entitled family the Bloodgood’s? Well, they have two Gemini Twin daughters, Moira and Lucilla are quite frankly, horrible girls. They are also starting at the Academy too. Moira and Lucilla aren’t just your average ‘mean girls’, they actually manage to be über dangerous and malicious evil girls. Kingston, Jimothy and Grey are actually Minerva’s mates and this whole story fills us in about her relationship with her wolves and how she became the incredible witch she was. My biggest problem with the story was a stupid one. Every time I saw the name Jimothy my brain translated it to be Jiminy. As in Cricket. I have read many of Ms. Trepagnier’s different series, and this book was an enjoyable, quick read.

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

About time. Minerva tells her life story to Ravyn, Ripley, Chaos, Loki and the rest.
Minerva was ahead of her time. She was in about women's rights and against racism. She was in love with 3 black men who were werewolves. Her dad was stuck in the past. He did not believe women could be productive. Only good for cooking and cleaning.
Minerva wants to get into the University of Profane, to get out her home and because she knows she can do more than be a maid.
She does not get a full scholarship but gets a work study placement. Her dad and sister treat her like she does not exist after her acceptance. But she grows closer to het Mom and learns some things about her parents.
At the university she gets to learn potions in all grades. She is good at them.
Unfortunately the awful Gemni twins set their sites on her Gemni triplets even though the can not tell them apart, they just want them for more power. They giving them gifts even though they are told repeatedly they hate them.
When the twins caught the triplets and Minerva at the Moon orgy. They send a curse at the triplets. The triplets on a verge of death, Minerva discovers what is happening to het and figures a cure for their curse.
After they are fine and Minerva tells them what she discovered. Will stay with her and how will they be a coven happily?
Find out.

It wasn't the Minerva Krauss story I was expecting, yet still satisfying to read. It's not the typical reverse harem read I was accustomed to reading from the author. It's a recount of her life events that led her to become the being she is now. The story is sweet among her harem of guys as it was shockingly innocent. She had to take matters in her own hands to get some. The story does give insight into her fascination with werewolf p•rn, and her uncanny ability for witchery. I enjoyed it immensely by her wit and spunky attitude as a youngster that gives way to the feisty "spinster". A fantastic addition to the Profane world sets of books.

Ever since Minerva’s character was first introduced in the Library of the Profane series I have wanted to learn more about her . Her character has such an interesting history and I was excited to learn more . I will say that this book includes a lot of details about Minerva’s early life and you learn more about Gemini twins and their importance . I will say that I was disappointed that more details weren’t included about Minerva’s adult life and what came later but I am hoping she will be in the future interconnected series . I definitely recommend this book if you have read the Library of the Profane and Academy of the Profane . I personally don’t think that you should read this book without reading the other series.

Minerva's father wanted a son - and had no time for his youngest daughter. When she is accepted as a work student at the College of the Profane, her life changes - but her family's boss's twin daughters are also there - and determined to make things difficult for her. But so they go too far? What is causing Minerva's head aches? Will she survive everything that is ahead of her? I have read all of the Profane books - and it was great to read Minerva's story!.

More Minerva, please!

I loved coming back to the Profane universe, and Minerva's story offers so many lifetimes worth of stories! Onyx sounds fascinating, and Beatrice Halliwell - and who else don't we know?
Any way, this was a great addition to the Twins' adventures in the books about the Profane University, Library, and Museum. I'm fortunate enough to have memory problems, so I can go back and reread books I love without them feeling Dejan vu-ish, but some world's I just know I want to return to. This collection (Long May It Grow) is one to which I will always return.

Minerva Krauss is not only what she seems, but even she doesn’t know her whole truth yet. It takes some bullying by nasty twins, a father who only wanted sons, a suppressed mother, nasty sister, a loving adoptive family, three werewolf mates and a whole host of other characters and events for the truth to finally come to light. An interesting RH story that is fun and flirty with mystery and magic.

Not exactly sure what I was expecting from this book. Possibly more of a memoir sort of scenario but this is so much better than I thought and I have to say that I loved it. I definitely need a book club that is something like this one, oh if only. I loved how the tale was told and how Minerva described it all alonf with how the relationship worked out. There were a fair few little bits that pop up to surprise you along the way but it all adds to the fun. A fantastically fun read.

I loved this so much!!

Being a massive fan of both the Library of Profane and Museum of Profane series, finally reading Minervas story is awesome.

I love how JB told her story, her love of her wolves and how they won over the Bloodgoods.

I can't wait to read Kaine and Nyxs book and also to hear what Death/Ezra decides they want to be called. JB has always been incredibly inclusive of the LGTBQ+ community in her books and using pronouns correctly, it makes a welcome change.

This was a great read and a great glimpse into the back story of one of the favorite characters you meet in previous works by this author. It was a great read and the characters were fantastic. The only down side is that I would have loved to see more of it. More into the history of the female lead, get to know the males some more.

Five out of five stars.

A Goddess’s Past

Minerva grew up poor, cleaning houses, alongside her three werewolf mates, Gray, Jimothy and Kingston. Her adventures when she turned 18 and attended the Academy of the Profane are legendary - but this time, she’s telling the whole truth. I liked this backstory story - Minerva is such a great side character in Ravyn’s and Ripley’s stories. A great read and the perfect compliment to the entire series.

Pretty good

It was interesting. A little rushed at the end and not much spice for a reverse harem but cute. Liked the relationship drama of Minerva being with men of color in the 40s, I mean. I don't like it, that's all kinds of messed up, but it's a new aspect you don't normally ready about so it was unique without being completely distasteful, with a whole lot of hate and violence. And they were all pretty cute as a couple. Wish there was more.

This story is fantastic and I would love to see more. I definitely need to see Minerva and her coven actually meeting with Loki. I was on the edge of my seat throughout and I would love to see some of those characters also get their own stories eventually.

The Totally True Tales of Minerva Krause

I actually loved this look into Minerva’s life. I wish there more on her antics and that of her wolves. It was cute to see how she came to discover she is Freya after learning it in a separate series in the same world. I really enjoyed it the only I wish was that we got more smutt but I will get over that lol.

this was a great start to the A Profane World Story series, I had enjoyed the storyline and the characters in this world. I've been a fan of JB Trepagnier before this book and am glad I got to read this new series. It was what I was hoping for and glad it was a lot of fun.

Spin off in the Profane world

Loved to read Minerva Krauss' story. Reading about her humble beginnings and the discovery of her true self adds a dimension to the overall world in these series. Seriously these books are one of my favourites and I pull them out when I'm in a reading slump. ❤️
