A page turning thriller

Earth, already in environmental crisis is hit by a comet, plunging it onto a war between the howlers who want to destroy all life and the rebels who want to save it. Enter Amaryllis Storm, rebel sniper, who's job it is to defeat the howlers. The plot twists keep those pages turning. It a thrill of a ride with the added bonus of some cool science. The story has elements of fantasy and science fiction with the underlying message of how fragile Earth is. It's a unique story with a character you won't forget. Can't wait to read the sequel. Great job, Hickory Crowl!

The action and plot twists keep coming, all through this dystopian thriller. The destruction of the world as we know it happened about 100 years ago. The details are fed to the reader at the beginning of each chapter - then back to the action. I like the way Crowl feeds hints and tidbits throughout, just enough to intrigue and keep the suspense up. But there are still lots of surprises at the end. Slightly reminiscent of The Hunger Games, but in no way derivative. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

This was an engrossing original dystopian sci-fi novel. It grabbed my attention from the first page. The plot and characters were vividly constructed. It was full of action and the storytelling was excellent. I couldn't put it down and was sad to see the story end. I hope there will be a sequel, I'm looking forward to reading it.
