Jak has survived everything this island has thrown at him.
The savage Tolvar Tribe, the brutal beasts, the strange monsters, and the terrifying corrupted things that wander like the living dead out of the mysterious Barrens. He has faced and overcome every challenge so far, and has now formed a tribe of those unwanted or marked for death by their own people. Building his village in a prime location he took from the Tolvar warparty, he now lives with dozens of other exiles, including Rylee and Niri, his two beautiful bond-mates.
Things have been going well, but he knows the time to take the next step is here. The Tolvar have continued their attack on his forest, and when Nessa returns to join his cave for good, he knows the time has come to build alliances with the others he shares the forest with.
RAW contains tribe building, savage violence, and primeval babes.
I am Misty Vixen (not my real name obviously), and I imagine that if you’re reading this, you want to know a bit more about me.
In the beginning (late 2014), I was an erotica author. I wrote about sex, specifically about human men banging hot inhuman women. Monster girls, alien ladies, paranormal babes. It was a lot of fun, but as the years went on, I realized that I was actually striving to be a harem author. This didn’t truly occur to me until late 2019-early 2020. Once the realization fully hit, I began doing research on what it meant to be a harem author. I’m kind of a slow learner, so it’s taken me a bit to figure it all out.
That being said, I’m now a harem author!
Just about everything I write nowadays is harem fiction: one man in loving, romantic, highly sexual relationships with several women. Nowadays, I tend to write more human on human stuff, but I still have a lot of non-human ladies in mind for the future, so if that’s your thing then stick around.
I’d say beyond writing harems, I tend to have themes that I always explore in my fiction, and they encompass things like trust, communication, respect, honesty, dealing with emotional problems in a mature way…basically I like writing about functional and healthy relationships. Not every relationship is perfect, but I don’t really do drama unless the story actually calls for it. In total honesty, I hate drama. I hate people lying to each other and I hate needless rom-com BS plots that could have been solved by two characters having a two minute conversation.
Jak found himself on a new dangerous island. With his bond-mates he has survival adventures, and steamy ones. He strengthens his new diverse tribe of outcasts, forming alliances, and finding magical objects.
I like ensemble books where it's not all about the hero. His companions have their own lives, and quests. Jak, like a wise ruler, uses their input to plot a smart course of the tribe.
Misty Vixen delivers a wild world with hot women. Great as usual.
4.5. The series continues, with a useful amount of forward momentum to the story. It's not quite great, but it does what it does well. It's holding my interest to date, so we'll see what book 4 offers.
Another fun and interesting addition to this series! The new alliances made and battles fought were quite entertaining and brutal. Jak was also put through some very creative tests and seems to have a lot on his plate near the end. I am ready for the last book in this series now.

“Raw III: A Primeval Harem” continues to be a very enjoyable series, with fantastic narration by Katana Jones. Many terrific female voice actors (VA’s) struggle with solo narrations; they just can’t do male voices. Katana has joined the list of women who are terrific on their own, as well as when paired with a male VA. Offhand, I’m thinking of Andrea Parsneau, Sierra Kline, Erin Bateman, Tess Irondale and Amber Lee Connors.
Speaking of Amber Lee Connors, allow me to share my realization that Misty Vixen’s Raw series has many similarities with Tamryn Tamer’s terrific “Herald of Shalia” (HoS) series. I mention this to help encourage any fans of HoS who have not yet started the Raw series to get off the fence and start listening! Both series feature an MC who wakes in a strange land with most of his memories lost. He finds plenty of gorgeous women of many species, and is happy to bed and marry many of them, going against general conventions. While not having sex, he is called upon to protect the women and to that end builds a village of like-minded folks, and enters into strategic alliances with other groups for mutual protection. All-in-all, a much more interesting storyline than the currently overused harem tropes by other authors such as portals to a closet/dungeon/whatever to bring riches home while fighting and f*ing monsters!
Raw I was a battle for immediate survival, Raw II focused on building a tribe, and Raw III opens with Jak’s tribe having grown to 60 tribe mates. Sixty may sound like a lot, but alliances with other tribes will be necessary for survival against the far great numbers of Tolvar determined to conquer the island.
We meet, and Jak REALLY meets, Dawn and other nymphs. Jak is really put to the test in more ways than one! Happily, the story continues to feature Rylee, Niri and Nessa. Misty Vixen does a terrific job of giving each woman her own personality.
Much of Raw III flows like a terrific slice-of-life story, if your slice-of-life includes lots of slicing of enemies and frequent sex as you explore the world and go about day-to-day activities!
I really enjoyed Raw III, and encourage you to listen to it (after you’ve listened to the first two books!). 5*
At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.
Genre: Harem in stone ages with fantasy aspects.
Power dynamics in harem: The harem members follow the MC lead in everything he suggests. He seeks out their opinions. Explicit/adult material: Explicit. Consensual. MF, FF and MFF+.
Summary: Jack needs to consolidate and make alliances with other tribes to build a power-base to withstand the big hostile human tribe. Putting together tribes of different races has it's own challenges, but together Jack and his ladies can do it.
Narrators Katana Jones does it again. She is a master of her craft and it shows. Overall narration: 5 / 5 stars.
The book’s strengths. - Nessa is really growing into her own and it is amazing - I like that diplomacy is taking up more of the narrative and basic society structure is being build - Misty Vixen always delivers steamy explicit content - Great narration
The book’s weaknesses. - Other than Nessa and the newest girl I would love for more depth, goals and character flaws of the girls
Jax took his two bondmates an started his own tribe then a third bondmate joined an the tribe grew .
Jax started small with his bondmates rescued exiles from the Tolvar with three including himself then rescued exiles from Tolvar . Some magic users some not elfs he rescued as well from the tribe of elfs . One karn joined as well an became the third bondmate the tribe swelled in numbers in the range of sixty exiles rescued an joined . It was just the beginning to save the forest an the land they called home .recommend reading excellent series .
I'm liking the diversity of the growing cast of characters. Hopeful for Dawn and Jak breaking some more molds if that were to happen. There are definitely several layers going on at the same time with the Barrens and the Tolvar, and am intrigued if the elves are coming into the mix or to remain aloof. The amphibious race is hanging in the balance as well... I am definitely enthralled. Thanks Misty! Can't wait for your next installment
Jak and his harem are building a village of outcasts and exiles. They explore the Gardens with a new magic user recovering a gem that increases her power, form an alliance with the karn and Jak has an adventure with the nymphs. So action, adventure, and getting filthy with hot beings! What more could you want! Bring on book four!
This is definitely the best series (in my opinion) from this author. The action is intense and the adult content makes sense in the overall story. Great book three and can’t wait for book 4.
As always a very enjoyable and well written story!!! I for one have never not enjoyed this authors works!!! They have always been a pleasure to read and well edited... I can't wait to see what comes next for this MC, his ladies and village
Primitive barbarian harem adult situations Stone age challenges continue for Jak and his new tribe. Delivers what was promised -- plenty of fighting and planting seeds. A few errors, mostly in the latter third. Vicarious barbarian enjoyment.
This is the third book of this series that I have read and all have been fun! New characters with each book, great adventures and a good theme being set up to anticipate in the future.
This series continues to have a fantastic mixture of violence and sexuality to it. Between the women Jak has as his mates and the enemies he must fight to keep them safe, the book is filled of intense moments. I will be continuing with the series.
