Tyree never knew how many shades of gray existed in a world she used to view through black and white lenses. Before, everything was clear. Right and wrong, fair and unfair, faithful versus unfaithful.
Kamaal versus Aiyden.
After Kamaal’s betrayal, embarrassment, and attack, Aiyden was the easy choice because he was who her heart was safest. That was until she found out Aiyden’s secret he hid from her, wiping away his innocence, and leaving her to who can she run to?
The tragedy that stuck Kamaal’s son keeps Tyree close to her ex, forcing her to deal with feelings that she rather forget. Being faced with tough choices, Tyree learns that some decisions aren’t as clear as others when her heart and mind are tugging her in different directions. She’s caught up in an emotional web, and some of the moves she makes cause her to fear that she would no longer be a choice.
Is the lesser of two evils a smart strategy when love is involved? How can she build a future when the past won’t let her go?
The characters from Deliver Me from Duval are back and it seems that things have gotten trickier for these characters, if that's even possible. The web that was weaved in book one appears to have gotten more intricate and readers will have to buckle up to enjoy this ride. Feelings are involved, lines are crossed, and I had a really hard time deciding who's side I was on throughout this entire read. "Tyree tried love, and then she tried it again and doubled back another time after that. Each instance ended the same- with her heartbroken and made a fool of."
Tyree Morris is a woman with one hell of a dilemma on her hands. She has two men in love with her and her heart and her brain are having a hard time deciding where she should be. Aiyden is the perfect man (to me at least) in just about every sense of the word. He's caring, he's understanding, and he's even romantic. But Tyree's knowledge of his soon to be ex-wife aborting his baby, a baby she so desperately wanted to have, pulls her away from him. Both of their past relationships are a huge roadblock that's getting in the way of their future. To make matters worse, Kamaal isn't going down without a fight. No matter how many times he messes up, he works just as hard to right his wrongs. The love triangle Tyree has awkwardly placed herself in gets even more awkward when a life changing event rocks all parties involved. Ramping up this drama filled installment. "It took four years for her skeleton to come from the deepest crevice of her closet, and Tyree wasn't ready to face that again.”
Kamaal Duval is the man in Duval. Mack Truck is loved by just about everyone in his city, but that didn't stop something tragic from happening to his son. With his son's life on the line and losing Tyree, things just really can't seem to get worse for him. With Tyree giving him the cold shoulder, Kamaal opens himself up to the option of a friend, Kamelia. Using her as a safety, or rather a backup plan was good until it wasn’t, and Kamaal decides he really just wants that old thing back with Tyree. The love triangles merge, creating one hell of a roller coaster ride. "Can't you see that things won't work out with anyone else- for you or me- because we're meant to be together?"
Every time I pick up a book by this author, she surprises me. Her stories are so well written, so soul stirring, they give me all the feels. Her superpower is taking a flawed character and making you love them, rooting for them even, and I love that for her. I also appreciated the length of this book, when you're lost in the story you kind of tend to never want it to end. The drama in this book will have you wanting to rush to the end. But don't rush too fast. There will be another installment in this series (Deliver me from Duval: Round and Round) slated to hit Kindles sometime this fall.
This book was a rollercoaster ride. Tyree frustrated me so bad at times I wanted to smack some sense into her because Tory was right she didn’t know what she wanted and it caused a domino effect of unnecessary mess that had me on edge and loving every bit of it. When I tell you I devoured this book, I mean I didn’t go to bed until I was done. It was so well written and the author has such a way with words it pulls you in to feel all of the emotions of all the characters. Even the ones you despise *cough Kamaal cough* I really want the fall to hurry up because after that ending I have no idea where it’s gonna go from here. Highly recommend this one.
If you thought book 1 was something brace yourself for book 2. Tyree & Kamaal are going to take you through it. It’s almost as if your watching this boxing match of 2 warriors that are the complete opposites of each other in Kamaal & Aiyden but the common denominator is Tyree and who will ultimately win her heart when it’s all said and done. These characters are going to have you cursing, screaming, ready to throw your tablet & needing to light up a cigarette when it’s over. I can’t wait for book 3 to see how this story plays out!
Everybody but Aunt Brenda and the kids got on my nerves 😂😂😭. Such an exhausting group of people. I think I need a break before the last book cause if that woman is pregnant 🤬
This booked picked up right where book 1 left off. The drama, the twist, and the character development was great. Can't wait for the next installment. Bravo Chassilyn 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
When I finished book one of this series, I had no plans to go any further. That was until I talked to a sister reader who pointed out the fact that this was the author's first project. That put things in perspective for me, because I knew that I'd read a few novellas more recently that seemed to be written by a more seasoned author! That's when I decided to give this series another chance. Especially since there were some questions that I needed answers to! And although I have no qualms about abandoning a series if it doesn't serve me, the realization that book two came along much later, along with the recent track record of releases...proved to me that this author had to have been fine tuning her craft with each release! And that was enough for me to give this series another shot. And while the writing has definitely progressed, the characters took me on a back and forth journey that had me wanting to give up on them both! Talk about the most frustrating, flip-flopping, indecisive, hard headed hero and heroine I've ever encountered...and that would be Tyree and Kamaal! But I'm deep in it now! Finished in less than two days! The author's note at the end reaffirmed that I made the right decision when I picked this series back up. It was a well earned second chance that was absolutely deserved. I'll still be pausing before book three, because these two wore me all the way out and I'm tired! But that's a good thing.
If you haven't started this series, I really wanna know why!! I am in shock and wanting more because of how this book ended. Sometimes waiting for the right time can throw all kinds of obstacles in the way! Tyree why!?!?! I know, screaming at her won't wake her up but surely she needs to lose some of her stubbornness when love is staring her in the face! I know once you've been hurt it's hard to stand back up but Chile... God gave you signs and you still won't stand and walk through the doors He opened! Can't wait for book 3. Hoping Kameila doesn't get her way...
I cannot believe this book ended like that! Omg!! I really waned tp be Team Kamaal, but he just could not get it right. Every opportunity, he was showing Tyree why Ayiden was the better man, so the ending really threw me for a loop girl! Tyree was a mess, but she really pulled it together when it mattered the most. Love how she handled Kamiela. Speaking, of which, I hope she is dismissed next book. She's too pressed to be with an unavailable man. Omg, this book really did not stop with the scandalous drama and will def keep you tuned in. Must read!!
Man talk about frustrating. I’ve never read a book that made me talk back to my iPad like these characters did. The toxicity of at all was overwhelmingly frustrating but I’ll be back for book three. Hopefully they get it together.
And Kamisha or whatever your name is girl.. Kamaal….you deserve everything you’re gonna get because of how you keep playing Tyree. Ty girl, focus on you and yours please.
I liked this story but..... I am too tired of the back and forth with this couple. Maybe I'm too old school, old fashioned or just to practical. But.... Why does Tyree feel the need to put up with Kamaal's BS. And Tyree isn't any better with Aiyden. The entanglements were too much. Stick to one D and stop all the bed hopping.
Im so disappointed in KD....like my heart sank reading another freaking major fumble on his part. Like dude....this is what Kamelia been waiting on...she wants to secure the bag & that lifestyle 😡and you just gave it to her. Poor Ty....like will she ever get the love she deserves! Ugh part 3 me please!
This book had me on an emotional roller-coaster!! Tyree and Kamaal really got on my nerves but I love the characters. The book was good but I found it to be long winded at times so I was disappointed that this wasn't the end. Regardless, I will be patiently waiting for the next part which I hope is the finale.
The second installment was a whole rollercoaster ride. Unexpressed feelings, words never said or said too late and just timing. I applaud Aiyden for acknowledging what Three wouldn't.
This book was full of twist and turns, almost and maybe’s. I’m excited to see how things will play out in the last book. There’s so much that’s been said but also so much to work through. I can’t wait for the finale!
Kamala and T are too old to be acting like this and playing with people feelings he knew he shouldn’t have called that girl over there cause he got rejected all he had to do was wait he can’t even do that
I am racing to read part 3. Just when I thought they finally got it right, life steps in again😩 Will Tyree ever get true happiness outside of Kamaal. I feel sorry for the broken hearts 💔 that keep coming between them!
What an emotional ride. So much back and forth with the relationship that it's dizzying. This book has me all in my feelings So much drama and twists. I don't know what will happen in the next book, but I'm ready.
So much occurred in this book from Tyree having Kamaal’s baby to not marrying Aydian while still loving Kamaal. Maybe something will finally click with these two in the next book.
Too much of getting in their own way, too much drama and I kind of liked it, lol. Both of them had me ready to slap some sense into them! Ready for the finale.
Bruh... these two are stressing me out. I really need Tyree and Kamaal to get it together. I couldn't put this book down, and im immediately going to part 3.
