Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the audiobook in order for an honest review.

I DNF the book. I liked the narrator and think he did a good job with different character voices, but that’s about the extent of my enjoyment overall. Realistically, the narrator did the best he could with the material he was working with.

While I was listening to the audiobook, it was still very obvious the book needed some serious editing. I think the story had some great potential, but I really just could not get past the repetitive words and iffy plot.
For example: At one point the Alpha was in a two month coma, yet his cell phone was in a drawer and not dead? I understand it’s fantasy, but it’s not a futuristic time setting in which phones just magically never die. Maybe I’m picky, but I think little details like this are important.

There were several other small details that just didn’t sit right with me, but I don’t want to write out too many spoilers. I think this story really did have good potential, but what I read was executed poorly.

The thing that initially drew me to the book was the cover art. I loved it enough to be interested in reading it, and I’m honestly kind of sad it disappointed.

If you can look past editing and repetitiveness, you might enjoy this book. I don’t think it was terrible, I just think it wasn’t for me.

3,5 ⭐'s!

Silence Falls; a new alpha is a supernatural fantasy about werewolves and pack life, rogue wolves, war and mates.

The book had a lot of potential but felt a tad rushed at times, the pace for specific events in the book felt unrealistic and sudden, and the whole mates thing doesn't really sit well with me given how that went down for Katie. It just didn't make sense.

Also the book felt unedited, with some typos and lack of comma's in sentences.

The ending feels open, as if this is the beginning of a series, but I think it's meant to be a standalone, I'm not finding anything online about it being a series.

*I received this as an ARC*
I loved the idea of this book and the cover is so beautiful. I just felt it needed to be edited a bit more. There were several grammatical errors and at times I had trouble understanding the character’s motivations, especially the father’s. The plot of this book was interesting and left me wanting to know what would happen next. I would just liked to have seen the character’s more fleshed out. Congratulations on your first published book! I understand writing is a very tiresome and difficult thing, but it does have its positives as well.

Heir to the Dark Silence pack, Katie had been kept under lock and key since rogues unalived her mother. As her 18th birthday gets closer and she will become the official heir and discover her mate, Katie's dad makes a merger with another pack and arranges for her to marry their heir. Despite the protests of Katie and her father's beta, who has been in love with her for years, when she sees her new fiancée, Katie can't help but be drawn to him. As rogues infiltrate the Dark Silence pack and dark secrets are revealed, Katie must contend with her multiple admirers, her looming birthday, and her father's loosening grip on his sanity.

Although the plot was good in parts, I wasn't too much of a fan. There's about half a million characters, who are all important puzzle pieces, but it got to the point where I couldn't keep anyone straight. At any given scene, there's at least two packs involved, and everyone's got overlapping histories, and it was not easy to follow. Katie lacked the in-depth characterization I'd expect for the main character, and it's very obvious that she's at an emotional stage younger than her 17 years of age. Every man pursuing her is years older, some her father's age, and the pack beta raised her when her mom di3d, but is now vying for her love. Yuck. There were quite a few misses in the editing process that ripped me out of the story every time, which is a given for an ARC copy, but I switched to the KU version, and found it was the same.

Good book but I couldn't get into it. Not the authors fault just me. There is a lot of pov's which I believe readers like. Read and decide

i’m gonna jump right in to say i struggled through the first half of this book. i don’t know if it was underdeveloped characters but i felt as if i was i not connecting with anyone and was almost feeling frustrated with the characters, especially Damien. after a while i did start to enjoy the story line but it still felt a bit rushed. i’m very intrigued by the concept and the cliffhanger will have me coming back.

Lots of pov

There are a lot of povs which for the most part is really enjoyable, they can get a little repetitive though. Really enjoy this story about werewolves. Really got you invested the the pack that they are starting.

I can't believe that ending!! I really want to know what happens next. I was really sucked into this book from the beginning, although the beginning was a bit slow but when it took off it took off! The characters were very easy to get attached to and the storyline itself was very unique. The only flaw I saw (for purely my preference) was I wanted more in depth details of the characters as we got to know them. With that aside they were still easily written fantastically.

It was pretty evident with how naive Katie is throughout the book. Out of all the characters I think I like Alexander and Derrick the most. My heart broke for both Alexander and Derrick....IYKYK. At this current point in the series I want to strangle Dylan. I don't care for him and there's a part of me that thinks he's a little sneaky sneak and I don't trust his actions. I really can't wait to see what unfolds in the next book.

No, no, no, no!! That ending was too soon…I know it’s a cliffhanger and that it kind of the point, but just…no :)
Wow what an amazing read this was. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it was so easy to get lost in the story…while I wasn’t overly keen on a couple of the characters especially Dylan...I can’t really pinpoint why but he just seemed to rub me up the wrong way from the moment he was introduced to the very end. Now, Alexander….he is a different story! Even though this book was told in more POVs than I’m used to, I think that it was actually very clever of the author to do this without making me feel as though I was losing where I was in the story or being overwhelmed. It was written really well and the plot was brilliant. There wasn’t much in the way of spice but there was soooo much action that it didn’t even bother me (and I love me a good spicy read!).
I was literally hooked right from the start…all the way through and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

I wish the text/trigger warnings had been put at the start of the book rather than at the start of the chapters. I found that it took me out of the story a bit too often.

I am a sap for a well written shifter/fated mates story, and Kaitly Lewis has delivered with Silence Falls.

The world building she did is amazing. I want to go back. I can't wait to go back. This world calls to me, beckons me. I visit in my dreams. It's just that good and well done. And the reality of the world, it feels like a different version of our own reality.

I absolutely loved the plot and the subplot that ran just under the main storyline. Like a current that would carry you away. Both plots were needed for the storyline to move it along smoothly and flawlessly. Without both plots present, you would have found holes in the storyline very quickly.

The character development, creation, and arcs are a mastery to behold. They are beautifully done. I do see multiple mates in the future and a thruple being formed in book 2.

Each character's arc is detailed and through, and it's also well thought out. The pleasure, pain, heartbreak, and passion each character feels is a needed part of their arc. But, more than that, each emotion becomes your own.

There is just so much emotion in this book. It can't help but check all the boxes. It's a great read, spicy, everything you could ask for except.... it ends on a cliffhanger. Hopefully, we don't have to wait too long for book 2.

Instantly my heart ached and I wanted to cry! Katie is the heir to her fathers pack, she will be alpha. Alexander is her father, Damian’s beta and he is in love with Katie. Damian merged with another pack trying to avenge his wife’s death but at the cost of marrying off Katie against her will. Dylan is the son of the alpha whose pack must merge with Damian’s in order to protect the remaining members. Dylan is promised Katie’s hand in marriage to complete the merge.
Will Katie choose Alexander, her best friend and the man who is in love with her or will she choose Dylan the man who she has grown to have feelings for but was chosen by her father?

This was such an incredible story! I was hooked from the very first page. There was not a dull moment in the story and you are given every characters point of view making it easy to follow. There were multiple conflicts in the story and each conflict was laid out efficiently leaving me feeling anxious to find out what will happen next.

I will preface this submission that I received this book as an ARC read for an honest review.

As a huge fan of werewolf shifter romance novels, I think that this book as the first in the series sets up some major potential for the rest to follow.
This storyline follows your typical werewolf shifter dynamic: fated mates, hierarchy of pack life, heir to Alpha, enemy to warring packs, etc. Which all in all, allows this to be an extremely easygoing read. I enjoyed the suspense of the main protagonist discovering her mate, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot twist ending that makes me NEED to read the next book.

The storyline as a whole is intriguing, with budding romances and exposing secrets. I hope that there is more character development for the main protagonist in the upcoming books, as her character was presented very sheltered and weak, but I have a feeling that due to certain events that transpire through this first book that will force her to evolve and I am totally here for it.

As others have also stated, as an ARC read, there are some grammatical errors, but that’s what lovely editors are for! I would highly recommend this series to my fellow werewolf shifter romance lovers who are looking for an easy read!

Silence Falls a New Alpha is a multi-POV book following a powerful werewolf pack in the US. Although the book had a lot of promise, I found the entirety of the book lacking in the end. The plot's premise was engaging, but I felt there was a missed opportunity for more character-building and reasoning behind their actions.

With the multi-POVs, I found that while they may work for future books in the series, the first book should have kept it more concise and simple. Possibly having Katie as the book's main POV and including those of her possible love interests may have improved the building of the characters.

Although a few grammatical errors were missed in the editing, this did not diminish the book. I will be on the lookout for the next installment in the series and for seeing an author with great potential continue to improve.

This is only my third shifter romance but so far it's the best one I have read! From the start of the book I was hooked into the story and just couldn't put the book down. I read it all in two days. I've only ever had a dual point of view so the concept of having more point of views really threw me off my reading game so it took me a bit to get used to that. It made the story feel slightly repetitive but I didn't find it that troublesome overall.

I loved the characters and how this book set them up for a very good plot line within the series. A lot if the characters need further development but that makes it perfect for a series. The FMC seemed really niave throughout the book but I think her character has potential for huge growth in book two. With wanting to see the character growth and with that cliffhanger of an ending, I will need book two ASAP!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. The storyline was interesting, and gripping enough for me to finish it quickly. The characters are well developed, and, for the most part, believable.

There was a comfortable balance of gore, violence, spice and narrative, along with clear warnings for potential triggers and more specific challenging topics within specific chapters.

There is a lot of switching character POVs which is done well without too much overlap and repetition. This style doesn't suit every reader, but I found it worked well in this book.

Unfortunately, the editing needs some work. There were a number of grammatical errors and omitted words. The tense was frequently mixed, as was the person (first, second, third), within the same paragraph.

Shut the front door!!! That ending though, I need to know what transpires like ASAP. This book definitely started out slow but turned ablaze at the end. Follow Katie the MFC and her father Damian through the drama and turmoil of hidden secrets that were meant to keep her safe but that hidden past comes back to haunt them. I’m stunned with the nail biting ending and I’m secretly hoping Alexander makes this a why choose in book 2, she can have two fated mates right?!?!? I cant wait to see how you’ve written the next part of their story!!

Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️
Triggers: Child loss, torture, graphic violence, sexual scenes (some boarding consent), child abuse/abusive behaviors, arranged marriage and more.

I very kindly received this as an ARC audiobook.
Although I did enjoy the basis of the story, I personally really struggled with the narrator’s voice, which put me off significantly. This is a personal preference completely, and I’m not judging the book by this at all, I just wish I had read it rather than listened to it!
I believe this book has laid a path to what could be a great series, especially with the ending. I did struggle with certain inconsistent parts, and also didn’t connect with the characters until further into the book that I would have liked, but hopefully future books will be more enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this read! It was easy to immerse myself into the story. That ending definitely came to soon. I really enjoyed the plot and characters! I’m excited to see what happens next! The book was well written.

I really enjoyed the characters! I couldn’t get enough of them. I loved the passion of the characters and the way their relationship was developing. I loved the multi pov, for me that’s one of my favorite things about books.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next one. I recommend this book! It was such a good read! I was intrigued by this story.

I don't usually read shifter Romances

Typically, I don't. I read this not knowing what to expect. I tend not to read them due to the fated mates always being straight (i am aware its not like that don't come for me), but I will always give it a chance. And this book did not disappoint (unless you hate cliffhangers). I loved the world building and the way it just felt like a different version of this reality. I will say if you have triggers definitely read up on what is in the book first because I know it could be hard for some. Personally, I think the author did a great job of portraying those things in a way that does not glorify them but makes it known that it's not ok. The biggest example of this for me comes from a later chapter where there is torture of a minor. You view the scene first from an outside perspective still first person but not the one doing it and clearly doesn't want this to be happening but has an it is what it is mindset, I can't say much more without spoilers and I'm not a fan of writing reviews that need spoiler alerts. I will 100% be reading more of this series because honestly, I need to know what happens after that cliff. Plus, I'm attached to Derrick (Gay side character), and I need to know where his story goes. That isn't even including my desperate need to know what happens with Katie and all of the others. 4 stars because I rarely ever give 5 stars over all.

Where do I even start? Let me start by saying I don't typically read shifter romances; I was not fully sure what to expect when I jumped into reading this. It took me a little to get into, not sure if it was the slow-burning pace, or not feeling a connection with the characters. After a while, I couldn't put the book down. I was constantly on edge unaware of what to expect next. Not expecting all the twists. Family secrets, conflicting expectations, and self-discovery. Kaitlyn did an amazing job, and I can't wait for book 2.

As a fan of werewolf shifter romances, I was excited to dive into this series opener, and it didn't disappoint! It ticks all the boxes with fated mates, pack drama, and a surprise twist that left me craving the next book. While I enjoyed the easygoing read and the budding romances, I'm hoping for more growth from the main character in the sequels—she starts off a bit sheltered and weak, but I'm sure she'll come into her own as the series progresses. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing where this story goes!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had a great storyline, and lots of interesting characters. It did start out a little bit slow for me, but once I got into it the plot really kept my attention with a couple of twists I didn’t see coming. And the ending…talk about a cliffhanger. Definitely left me wanting to read the next book to see what happens. I actually enjoyed the multi POV storytelling and the insight into each character that it gave. All in all this was definitely an enjoyable read.

This books story line has/had a lot of potential. But the delivery was… off. It
Could have used… something. Editing? Formatting? Maybe more relatable characters? I’m not totally sure.

Maybe this book just wasn’t for me. Which doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be perfect for you. That’s the fun of reading! We get to like different things.

This is a story of Katie’s management of becoming an adult. Finding her mate and struggling to identify him. Stepping up as alpha of her pack and the fallout of her fathers choices.

Fated Mates

I was invested from the jump with this book, especially when the beginning was so tragic. It is very detailed, and the world building was great. I struggled with some of the repetitiveness of a lot of scenes. I love multi pov but not when the whole scenes are repeated. Some may love that, it's not my fave. The character building was good. All in all I recommend this if you are about fated mates.

Congratulations on your first book! The story has alot of promise however I personally did not like the chapter povs. The trigger warning was nice but maybe it could of went at the front. There were a few editing problems but overall a great book. I will read book 2 when it comes out.

I haven’t read a shifter book in a fat minute and I struggled to get into it at first but I absolutely fell in love.
The author made it soo easy to feel for Katie being sheltered and not being quite sure of anything. Honestly the book made me question everything about the fated mates thing. Man, I’m really hoping my theory is right 😩😩
I’m honestly stoked for the next books to be coming out!!

I was honestly surprised by this book, I'm more used to less tastefully written shifter romances.
I'll honestly go and read the next book when it comes out and if you are into the shifter trope I definitely recommend it.
There were some little things here and there that I decided to cut the stars to 4, but all the books have something.
