Mazzone Mafia Universe #4

Vengeance of a Mafia Queen

Rate this book
Falling for the enemy was never part of my plan…

Losing my innocence at thirteen, in the most brutal way, changed me. My kidnapper stole my childhood and tried to break me. The knowledge my father orchestrated the entire situation hardened my heart, and instead of grieving his death, I celebrated it.

One down. Many more to go.

My burning need for revenge has only grown over the years, keeping me focused on my goals and enabling my rise to power.

Made men are weak. A pretty face and the promise of a good time easily distracts them.

Now, I’m in charge.

Men bow before me.

Except for him—the brother of my abductor. Massimo fights me every step of the way, but I’m not about to let the explosive chemistry between us deter me from my chosen path. His family is my enemy. He is my enemy, even if he doesn’t know it yet.

I won’t stop until all those who wronged me are punished.

By the time they realize I’m coming, it will be too late.

They tried to take everything from me.

But where they failed, I will succeed.

Unless he becomes my weakness.

So disappointed. Another book advertised as having a badass female lead (which is what sold me on it), proves that there is such a misconception of what is considered strong, courageous and intelligent in a FMC.

Where do I start..

First of all, I think the best way to describe this book is with one word: soap opera. If you like soap operas or are in the mood for something like this, by all means go ahead, it won’t disappoint. If you prefer a more realistic, credible and (in my opinion) enjoyable read, then be assured this is not it.

The couple was professing love and extreme sentiments in every paragraph after the 50% mark in this book. It was exhausting to read endless cheesy, over the top declarations. I don’t need those to believe someone is in love, I am a firm believer of less in more.

Now, onto my main complaint:

I didn’t like the heroine and her journey. It’s not that I disliked her as a person. She was just not someone I could connect and feel empathy for and root for. Not because she was unlikeable as a person but because of the plot.

It seems to be a trend in books with heroines who have achieved power in the criminal world - that they only show it through extreme ruthlessness, and by disconnecting themselves from a life of emotion and everything that comes with that. I don’t think that’s power. I think that shows vulnerability and weakness.
The over the top and very graphic descriptions of her bloodthirsty attitude and the also very graphic descriptions of her trauma, they just didn’t achieve what was intended - which was to show her as unstoppable, and powerful and ruthless and courageous as well as intelligent. We didn’t get an explanation of how she achieved the things she did or her position in that world, we just got told she did because she played a smart game - okaaaaay.. how? Because just telling me she is smart does not prove she is smart.

Also, she capitulated very easily to loving the hero and abandoning her revenge with very little proof of his innocence. I get that when you meet the one - you reevaluate your motives - but still, she knew he was hiding things - and yet she didn’t seem very motivated to discover them before giving up on her own journey.

The ending … don’t get me started on that.

The whole book she preached about how she is a woman making changes in the mafia which was gonna pave the way for other women to get their say in that world. To not be sold off in marriages like cattle, for a good deal. To not have everyone turn a blind eye to their abuse just because they are considered property of someone else. And yet.. what does she do? After endlessly preaching something and supposedly believing in it, she abandons it and leaves it to the men (the fact that she blames the commission for making that decision does not hold any merit, because we all know she could still get her way).

This book felt like a journey (although, a cheesy, poorly constructed and unrealistic one) into some sort of mafia women’s liberation movement - only to end with her being a housewife and having the men do what they’ve been doing for centuries. And listen, there’s nothing wrong with liking a lifestyle like that, wanting to be a mother, cooking, and playing around with charities - but why build an entire book on a premise which eventually holds not merit anymore.

To conclude, this was a cheesy, over the top, disappointing soap opera which promised and sold us on way more than it actually delivered.

Five years after an anonymous quickie in an airport bathroom, Catarina Conti is formally introduced to Massimo Greco.

A tangled and tortured history brought her to propose an arranged marriage to the youngest Greco. While vengeance has been her driving force and sole motivator, when the path to revenge becomes muddled, allegiances questioned, and love takes her by surprise, plans change and a new path forward is forged. But when all truths are revealed, will love be enough?

Siobhan Davis has the unmatched ability to guide her readers through an emotionally-charged journey while weaving an intricate story in flawless fashion. Likewise, she strikes the perfect balance between storyline, steam, and character growth all in the confines of a carefully created universe that feels so real, you never want to leave.

This book completely blew my mind!

The mafia world Siobhan creates is amazing and so entertaining.

Tropes:
- arranged marriage
- enemies to lovers
- bad girl / sweet boy

Massimo and Catarina were EVERYTHING! The tension between these two was making me burn up!! Massimo is unlike any Mafioso in Catarina’s world. He’s sweet and would do anything for her and I love him so much for that. I read 80% of this book in one day because I had to find out what happened to Catarina all those years ago. Siobhan did an amazing job of leading up to that point and uncovering everything and just … wow. Catarina is so strong. I love and admire her so much. Catarina IS THE RICH MAN!

Overall, this book was fantastic. Massimo and Caterina are everything and more.

I was almost ready to give this 4 stars, and then the ending pissed me off so much, I knocked off a star. I shouldn’t be surprised, the last Siobhan Davis book that I read, Always Meant to Be, was also decent until the end ruined it.

This story is about Catarina, who’s 34 and is on a revenge mission. She grew up in the mafia, and when she was 13, she was raped and tortured by a fellow mafia guy. In the years since, she’s changed her name and risen to power as a mafia Donna in her own right. Unfortunately, the man who hurt her is already dead. But she has a plan to take out the rest of his family – and part of this plan involves marrying his younger brother, Massimo. And she also plans to assume power over the entire New York mafia, which involves taking out the current leader, Bennett Mazzone (who was the hero in Condemned to Love).

I like a good revenge plot, and it also sometimes gets frustrating to read a lot of mafia books where women aren't part of the power structure, so this one felt like a refreshing change. Catarina was a pretty likeable heroine, tough but mostly not in an annoying way, and Massimo was a good hero, with the right balance of deferring to her and respecting her power but still being alpha. They have a random one night stand at the start when she's 29, and 5 years later in the present day, they both agree to an arranged marriage without realizing who the other person is. So that part is fun, it's almost a mini second-chance situation.

This book is being marketed as a standalone, and you COULD probably be fine reading it as one, but there are so many characters and plot points from Condemned to Love and especially Forbidden to Love I think all the side characters and references to past events would be confusing if you skipped those. So, it's yet another book that's a fake standalone.

But, why did the ending piss me off? Because at the end,

Anyway, aside from the end being a letdown, this is a decent read if you want a revenge story with a scheming heroine and a sexy male lead, and a mafia story that's a little different – and I’m also curious about the Accardi twins, who are apparently getting their own books. (Although, Anais better stay a villain, I won’t read their books if the author tries to redeem that bitch and make her a heroine). I would say that among Sibohan Davis’s mafia books, this isn’t as good as Condemned to Love, but it’s better than the other two after that.

Mafia antiheroes better move over, because Siobhan has just created the ultimate fierce and powerful antiheroine. Holy smokes! Siobhan Davis continues to reinvent the game when it comes to dark and gritty mafia romance. Intense, edgy, sexy, and action-packed, Vengeance of a Mafia Queen is a gripping story of love and hate and healing and vengeance, with a surprisingly tender romance at its heart. Enhanced by captivating and dynamic characters and fast paced mafia drama, it's consuming from the first word to the last. And with a heroine like you've never seen before- it's truly unforgettable. I am obsessed with Siobhan's mafia magic- all hail the mafia queen!

I won’t speak too much about the actual story here, because why ruin all the fun! Going into a Siobhan Davis story blind is always the best path- she never fails to deftly craft intricate webs of intrigue, plot twists, and danger. They are wildly and addictively entertaining- true page turners in all their action-packed, steamy, and emotionally messy glory. But they are also substantive. Stories with a poignant and emotive weight that move and capture the heart just as much as they entertain. Vengeance of a Mafia Queen is pulsing with its emotional energy. It’s gritty, it’s captivating, it’s frenetically consuming.

But, what I love most about Siobhan’s expanding mafia world is just how unique her take on the trope is in every different story. The characters, the storyline, the mafia conventions never play out how we expect them to be, breathing new life into a well trodden trope. Not only is it creatively inspired, but it’s magnificently exhilarating- a dark and delicious breath of fresh air. And there is no greater mark of this creative ingenuity than in this story- in our titular mafia queen. Instead of the docile and embattled pawns in the patriarchal machinations of mafiosos, Siobhan creates the fiercest of mafia leaders she’s written to date- IN OUR HEROINE- a woman who has risen not only from the ashes of her own history but from the ashes of the misogynistic expectations she’s unapologetically burning. Oh yes- girl power! Our heroine is more than a force, she’s a veritable phenomenon. Powerful, ruthless, clever- this is a woman who can topple empires (and has…), a woman consumed by the raging inferno of her own thirst for vengeance and blood. A woman so self-assured and comfortable in her own skin, in her own power, in using her own voice. She’s not only a match for the delicious mafia men we’ve met thus far in this world, she’s their destiny. AND SHE IS A TRIUMPH! Because Siobhan not only delivers her most fierce mafia leader to date in this trope-bending heroine, but she also imbues Catarina with substance and complexity. This is not the one note “tough chick,”- Catarina has a spine of steel, but she also has a giant vulnerable heart, one she’s learned to shelter, but one that still beats with love and hope, one who can still care for others and see the world around her with a critical eye. One that just needs to break free from the chains of vengeance and trauma. What a marvel she is.

But even better, that heart comes from our hero. Again, Siobhan creates a mafia world like no other. Not only do we have mafia leaders who have authentic dialogue, respect women, and want to rewrite the flaws of their pasts, but she also gives us a hero who is actually the bleeding heart of the story. Oh, don’t get me wrong- Massimo is tough as nails an all alpha. There is room for TWO alpha leads in this story. But he is not your run of the mill dominating anti-hero. He sees and respects Catarina for all the she is, and even better, instead of trying to control her or get her to submit, he accepts her leadership, he empowers her. And recognizing her trauma and distrust, he opens his heart freely- his own vulnerability, patience, and understanding build a relationship founded in emotional safety and respect. Oh, they are HOT AF, and Massimo is still dominant and powerful and all the things we love about Siobhan. But the contrasts in him are breathtaking- he’s soft, gentle, and loving emotionally while being a forceful and dangerous mafia leader externally.

Their chemistry is so moving, so restorative. And that is again what makes Siobhan so brilliant, amidst all the violence and trauma and main, a uniquely soft, sweet, and SWOONY romance blossoms. Their love is gentle and tender, their connection meaningful and safe. And their power is equal- they form a partnership unlike anything I’ve seen in a mafia story, enviable in ANY romance in its purity and power. THey communicate, they problem solve, they DIALOGUE about their needs and feelings. They anchor one another, and they also catalyze each other. Their love provides the strength they each need to face their baggage, both of them stuck between their past and present, vengeance and love, the tension of their past pains and their future. They unsettle each other- all so they can center each other. AND HOLY SWOON. My heart beats for them.

So yes, we have lots of Siobhan twists and action and steam and jaw dropping moments, but we also have a powerful story of two characters finding themselves in each other, finding fulfillment and meaning where (and with who) they least expect it. They find the thing they needed all along but didn’t know- the purpose they thought made them weak but actually makes them strong. LOVE. They found love. And that’s what makes Siobhan Davis mafia romances so damn special- somehow she finds a way to make the darkness and pain beautiful and liberating, swoony and sweet. And I’m a total goner for it.

I must admit this is my first book that I read that is written (and very well-written) by Siobhan Davis and I can guarantee it won't be my last. This was one fantastic, gritty, gripping, grab-you-by-the-feels, fast paced, action packed, and scorching hot read. The perfect blend of what I love in my books! It had me hooked from the very first page, and the author does a fantastic job keeping you interested throughout.

Plot Summary :
Being kidnapped and losing her innocence in her childhood, broke something inside of Catarina. She wanted revenge. Revenge against the people who had a part in breakin her. She vowed to never be weak again. Now she was the huntress and the men were the preys. They were scared of her just like she wanted it to be. They should be. She was revenge incarnated and there was no stopping her.

Until Massimo. The brother of the man who brutalized her. She should hate him as she does with his whole family but when things spark between them, catarina feels herself falling. She feels herself diverting from her main goal. Will she be able to stop the catastrophe? Or will she fall for a man she is destined to kill someday?

Overall Opinion :
Another amazing book by one of my top dark romance authors is here! The storyline is amazing and in Siobhan's usual style, she managed to keep me hooked from the very start to the end.

The main characters are amazing. Catarina is a true queen and I loved every scene in which she made an appearance. Her strength which was forced from her pain was one of the most spectacular scenes to witness.

Massimo is the perfect hero for this book and for catarina. He was cold but
Not too cold for catarina. He knew she was broken beneath her cold exterior and truly understood her worth and wanted to make her see it too. He wanted to make her his. She was already a queen, he just wanted her to see him as worthy enough to be her king.

Definitely recommending this dark romance to all the mafia loving people. This one won't disappoint you at all.

I have to warn you that you won't be able to stop to do anything else in your life once you start Vengeance of a Mafia Queen by Siobhan Davis. One of my top 2022 read and one of my all time favourite from Siobhan Davis. This arranged marriage mafia romance is all consuming. Massimo and Catarina claimed my heart and I am not sure I am ever getting it back.

Donna Catarina Conti has built her empire on blood, pain and tears and her only aim is to get revenge on the Greco family as the men who broke her body and soul brutally were Grecos. After years of relentless work , she finally has a master plan to take down the head of all mafia families and current president of the Commission Bennett Mazzone with the Greco family. And she has to marry Massimo Greco, the youngest Greco and heir to the Greco empire to consolidate her position. It is supposed to be a business deal. But he is the same man haunting her dreams after a dirty airport bathroom encounter years ago. And he is nothing like his father or his evil brothers. Can she really go along her plan?

So this story has two heroes. There is no other way to put it. Catarina is a powerhouse. I have extreme admiration, respect and a serious case of woman crash on her. She was ruined and brutalised and just broken. Her old life is a horror story. It was so hard for me to even read her recollections and the author kept it real and raw. She may be a fictional character but the rage and pain I feel for her is very real. By her sheer determination, fire of vengeance and will power, she rebuilt herself and made herself a queen. Strong. Witty. Beautiful. Fearless. Fair. Smart. Cold in business and warm for her friends. The perfect queen in the dark dangerous mafia world.

And Massimo could not be an antihero who just dominates and controls. It won't work with a woman who has vowed to never let another man own her. And the author made him the perfect alpha hero. He is the brilliant combination of empathy and edgy. He is still a dangerous man. He has separated himself from his evil family and built an impressive life. He is skilled and feared and a complete enigma. He showed nothing but respect and support for Catarina from the beginning of their forced arranged marriage. But he also took the charge when Catarina needed a safe place to be vulnerable. It was a battle considering her sordid history with his family. She was bitter, angry, resentful and mistrustful. Massimo had to prove himself and he did it spectacularly. He played the role of alpha while never undermining Catarina. He is the pillar of strength Catarina didn't know she needed and together they were a formidable force. Partner in every sense. They have explosive chemistry and it was a heartbreaking rollercoaster. The twists and turns were mindblowing. The mix of action, drama, passion and emotions made it one irresistible read.

Siobhan Davis writes such captivating stories those leave a mark on my heart every single time. Vengeance of a Mafia Queen was adrenaline filled, heartaching and steamy perfection.

PS : Read the blurb and trigger warning carefully.

This was one hot compelling read, non-stop action and adventure and filled with a ton of hotness! What a page turner, secrets and lies and mystery and revenge all packed into one hot and sexy read.

Loved the characters, and we loved that Massimo and Catarina were the perfect for one another. I loved that Catarina was a force to be reckoned with. Love a strong female character that can kick butt! Our heart broke for all she endured but, those obstacles made her strong and powerful and a woman that will never be under and man's thumb again. Catarina is well-loved by her friends and her people, and we loved how they are all so protective of her.

Massimo was a man of mystery loved that about him, we thought he was sexy and funny and protective of his wife, we loved his sense of humor but, most of all, we loved how he was to Catarina once they got over the rough patches. This man is not all he seems, which makes he is very dangerous indeed.

One Word, page turner! This couple burned brightly together! The sexy time's fan worthy! Hot! Hot! Hot! So many secrets and lies and betrayals but, maybe this one man might bring some happiness to a woman who has known nothing but, pain and anguish and revenge. We were rooting for Catarina and her happiness and however sometimes painful we loved being on her journey.

PS. We have to say that we loved this cover, the cover alone would have made us purchase this book, it hot and sexy! Mouthwatering....

Siobhan, this book is INCREDIBLE!!!!

"Vengeance has no conscience, rules or limits, and it is the greatest form of freedom. There is little I won't do to have my revenge."

Once again, Siobhan Davis has taken the top spot of my favorite reads of the year!!!

“If you were single, I would marry the fuck out of you.”

This book was very intense, graphic and dark compared to the previous ones that have come out in this world. Catarina is seeking revenge on Massimo Greco's entire family and also the men who have wronged her in the past. She would stop at nothing until she gets what she always wanted but a necessary arranged marriage to Massimo gets her entangled in the web of love. Will she end the family of the man she loves? Or has she got it all wrong? So, Catarina was a power hungry bitch and I absolutely loved that about her. She was the exact definition of an alpha female that I've always wanted to read about and Massimo was equally secretive and smart as her but he somewhat dulled in comparison to her. Whenever the things Catarina ha to go through when she was just thirteen were explained by her, I got goosebumps and I felt so fucking sorry that she had to face such a bad torture. After all that, she overcame her trauma and made such a good name for herself and for that, I could respect the hell out of her. This story was something like I've never read before and I loved both the main characters equally!

Vengeance of a Mafia Queen is the start of a whole new generation of mafia! This book is long but it’s a story that will grip you and keep you invested till the last word!

Siobhan takes no short cuts when it comes to storytelling which is why I love her writing! She gives you every detail and spares nothing! You are fully involved in her stories because of all the details! Her writing is meticulous but it’s not overboard! You don’t not get bored or feel she gives too much!

Massimo and Caterina are phenomenal! Their connection and how hard they love was addicting! I loved Rina’s fire and her determination to her goals but I also admired that she knew when she was wrong and fought to make it all right! Massimo though whew that man is a force! His love and calm demeanor really made him Caterina’s other half!

I can not wait to see what comes next in this world!!!

This story completely took me over. In my opinion very few authors can write an antiheroine like Caterina but Siobhan Davis not only did it but did it so well I'm almost speechless. This takes place but is a standalone in the Mazzone Mafia world but you don't need to read those to get this. This will consume you but be prepared because its dark. It's in places grim but it was so good. Massimo and Caterina were absolutely phenomenal together and I just loved how completely gone he is for her right from their very first meeting.

Still a fantastic read made even better by duet narration on the audio.

Siobhan Davis once again has given her readers a well written, action-packed, fast-paced mafia romance with an all-consuming storyline that is dark and gritty and will captivate you from the very beginning. Vengeance of a Mafia Queen is packed with plenty of angst, drama, twists and turns, mistrust, revenge, fiery chemistry, passion, and spice to keep you turning the pages.

If there is one thing, Siobhan Davis is gonna do it is slay a damn story! Oh my word, did I freaking love this book!

Catarina Conti was a bad ass, boss ass chick, period. I mean she was just pure fire. There’s a lot of antiheroes that have stolen my heart, but now I have an antiheroine to add to my list. Siobhan Davis has delivered me a heroine that is truly incomparable. Catarina stands in an league of her own. She was a straight up savage, understandably and once you know her story you’re left in even more awe of her. The resilience she had was absolutely incredible. She had so much heart and even bigger balls than the men and I dare you to underestimate her because I promise it’ll be your first and last time. She’s honestly unlike any heroine I’ve ever met and has definitely made my list of favorites.

Then there was Massimo Greco, the very man she should hate with every molecule in her turns out to be the one that changes the game. The mouth on that man could melt the panties right off of you and in the next moment swooning you off your feet. I loved the way he challenged Catarina, riled her up but most of all, I loved the way he loved her pure and unconditional. I loved the times he stood behind and let her lead and never treated her as less than his equal. But, don’t get it twisted because my guy Massimo was still as possessive and deadly an alpha as you can get. But, it was his tenderness, thoughtfulness and compassion that truly had me positively smitten for him. There wasn’t a single thing his Rina could do or say to shake him. He was nothing like you’d expect and tilted Catarina’s world fully off its axis.
The banter between these two was utter perfection. It was entertaining but laced with the thickest of sexual tension that in turn lead to some epically steamy and Kindle melting moments.

When I tell you I ate their story up enthusiastically! Catarina and Massimo were a match made in mafia heaven. A movement by themselves, but a hell of a force when they were together. Vengeance of a Mafia Queen was an all consuming, spectacular read and it gave every single thing I look for in a mafia, enemies to lovers, dark romance and then some. Siobhan Davis took mafia romance and uniquely made it her own with this book cementing it on my list of favorites and making for a read I’ll never forget.

Catarina is a woman set on revenge after she suffers a horribly traumatic moment in her young life. No one will be left standing once she gets her vengeance on those involved. She builds herself up, cloaks herself in power and comes to NYC to infiltrate the families of those responsible for her kidnapping and horrendous abuse at the age of 13.

She’s built walls around her to keep everyone out, but one certain pesky persistent man will take it down brick by brick! Massimo is a smooth talking flirty “playboy” with secrets of his own. When these two agree to an arranged marriage it’s all part of Catarinas plan to get her foot in the door of The Commission.
Massimo will need to prove to her that he’s not going anywhere and try to convince her they make a great team.

Twists, turns, secrets and betrayal are just the groundwork laid in this story. Hang on tight because Siobhan Davis will take you for one helluva ride with this one!

Siobhan does it again. The saying what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger is sooo true with Catarina. That women is strong willed, feisty, pigheaded and very capable of setting out to do what she wants to do. I love how the character evolved throughout the book but still stay independent. Now where to start out with Massimo besides the fact i need a man like him. You can tell from the moment he introduced that he is arrogant, cockey, egotistical but can also be caring. The way he loved, cherish and stood by his women is swoom worthly.

First, Siobhan Davis is an incredibly talented writer! This story absolutely consumed me in all the best ways! I could not put it down and was so completely invested in these characters. I was blown away by how fast I was completely immersed in this world, literally from the prologue I knew this would be a book that was going to take me on a ride into a darker place. The female lead in this book is probably the strongest, most resilient, and totally badass heroines I have ever read. Her journey throughout her life had me absolutely rooting for her to get every ounce of vengeance she was owed! Then there is our hero in this story who wasn’t the usual mafia man but definitely held my heart through this book! (100% book boyfriend material) There are so many twist and secrets in this world that kept me completely wrapped up until the very end. Extremely happy with how this story ended and can’t wait to read more from this world.

If you love mafia romance, action, spice, revenge, tension, and definitely an epic love then you should add this to your tbr! I highly recommend!

This book...wow.
It has been FAR too long since I've read words by this extremely talented author and I definitely won't that mistake again.
This book is ginormous in the very best way ( I didn't want it to end). So make sure you set aside a few days to read as you won't want to put it down. It consumed me.
It easily went on my top reads of '22 list.
From cover to cover I was transfixed. With secrets, lies, betrayal and action I can guarantee you will be the same.
I want to be Rina when I grow up.
Past, present and future her.
Especially with her hubby!
Them together though...there are no words.
Honestly this book blew my mind.
You'll think you have things figured out. You don't.
It's so hard to talk more about the characters or plot without giving anything away because of the spectacular way everything is tied together, but just know that this book is NOT to be missed and you won't forget it for a long, long time.
Can't wait to go back and catch up with the rest of the series.

Dark mafia romance. Hate to love. Vengence. Arranged marriage.

TWs: child abuse, torture, murder (graphic)

First of all, this as 470 pages of heavy mafia plots. Catarina (h) was horribly abused as a young girl by a mafia don and upon her rescue, she managed to reinvent herself completely and become a donna (or female don) in the American mafia. Her purpose is to get revenge on all those who wronged her or contributed to her past abuse. She marries Massimo (H) who is a really nice mafioso but he's from the family that abused her.

I liked Massimo and even Catarina, up tp a point. Their hate to love banter was hilarious although juvenile at times. The writing style was not exactly my cup of tea and I ended up getting bored half way through. It is a really long book! Not sure this is an author for me.

My god does this book take you on a emotional roller coaster. Saying that ive yet to read a book by Ms Davis that hasnt made me bawl my eyes out at some point and i did that a lot reading this book. Be warned some of the content in this book might upset some folks. The FMC is the epitome of an anti-hero which kind of understandable with every traumatic thing that she has happened to her in her life but that in turn has made her the woman that she is now. Revenge is a key factor and her focus sets off in a direction that she hadnt planned for.

The plot twists, backstabbing and power playing were absolutely killer. They completely drew me in and gripped all the way through until the very end of the book. I cant praise this book up enough. It was just brilliant but also pretty dark too.

Okay not every book is a winner and unfortunately this wasn’t for me. I love everything I’ve read by Siobhan but o didn’t vibe with this. It started off great. Caterina was so strong and independent. I loved reading about her being a mafia queen. As her relationship evolves with Massimo, however, she starts to water down her bad assery and it made me a little sad. It felt repetitive and the ending was a bit of a let down for me🤷🏻‍♀️ it also claims it’s a stand alone but there were a ton of different names to remember and they all sounded the same. I think if you read the previous books it would probably be easier to keep everyone separated. I recommend checking out the Sainthood series by Siobhan instead! It is a RH and I loved it.

All Hail the Queen!!!! Vengeance is a dish best served by Catarina! I love love loved this one!! Perfect mix of suspense and romance. Rena has been through unimaginable trauma and has come out stronger than ever and ready to take down everyone who played a part. Then we have Massimo and he is just PERFECTION!! I loved how everything comes together - it’s such an intriguing plot and the way that Siobhan weaves this story is absolutely amazing! Not a single detail is missed and it’s storytelling at its best. I loved the little cameos from the other mafia men/ladies! Another 5 star read from Siobhan - she simply never messes!

What can I say to convince you to read a romantic suspense novel called Vengeance of A Mafia Queen? Well, nothing except it is written by Siobhan Davis and this time it is the Queen who gets to be the bada$$ mafia boss and she does her job exceptionally well! Catarina is cunning, ruthless and unapologetic about her rightful vengeance and I just love it. She is a bombshell and she knows how to use that to her advantage. The story has enraptured me from the very beginning and did not let me go till the last page. I couldn’t fall asleep till I have finished reading the epilogue and that was around 5 am. It is definitely a one-click for me!

Siobhan has done it again writing an absolutely brilliant mafia masterpiece including all the good stuff like betrayal, greed, lust, envy, power plays and murder.
This isn’t your straight forward arranged marriage plot and be warned there are some dark aspects including trauma so check the trigger warnings.
Even though this is a stand-alone but set in the Mazzone Mafia world once you read this I guarantee you will go and read that series.

Mafia Romance at its best!

Siobhan certainly is the best at writing a badass heroine especially one intent on vengeance & Catarina wears the crown!! I love how the story progressed and I couldn't put the book down from the very start. Lots of drama, twists and of course some spice! I loved the development of the relationship between Catarina and Massimo and the chemistry between the two! Brilliant read, looking forward to more of the Mafia World.

Captivating, addictive and brillIant.

Totally hooked from page 1. Full of drama, revenge, angst, steam and secrets.

The intense chemistry between Massimo and Rina is on another level. I love the banter, the come backs, the fight Rina gives. But those barriers fall, such a beautiful love grows and is everything.

All the secrets and drama all come to head and keeps you engrossed, you can’t put it down as you need to keep reading.

Another BRILLIANT mafia romance 🖤
