She never meant to fall in love, but Wade Olsen is warmer than a steaming mug of hot chocolate on a frosty December night...
A trip to her idyllic Pennsylvania hometown for a holiday visit is wrought with more than a few challenges for Jocelyn Pritchett, since the only things she associates with Christmas anymore are the painful memories of her mother’s car accident five years ago. But, until she can escape the memories and return to her new life in Florida, she’ll keep her chin up and make the most of the season with her family.
Yet, when a charming stranger enters the picture, soon, the sugar cookies are sweeter, the carols that used to make her weep are bearable, and the winter weather’s a treat rather than a hassle. In fact, she might fall in love with Christmas all over again because of the dashing Wade Olsen.
If only she could stop herself from falling in love with him, too.

I really enjoyed this sweet and clean romance set around the magic of Christmas and New Years. I felt the story and characters were very realistic and I could really feel the emotions that Jocelyn felt as she returned home to New Haven Falls to spend Christmas with her family for a few weeks. I liked how she met Wade who seemed to sweep her off her feet, although everyone warned her about his reputation. I also liked the significance of the mistletoe in the book as the story unfolded. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
The first book in Jillian Walsh's new series New Haven Falls. Jocelyn has come home for Christmas, a very difficult time of year for her. The first day she meets her brother in law's business partner Wade. Jocelyn has no plan to fall for Wade but can she keep it. Sweet, clean small town romance. Great storyline and charming characters, especially Ethan and James. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Jocelyn did a lot of running because of misplaced guilt over her mom’s death and it doesn’t sound like she’s happy with the choices she’d made in life. I don’t blame her for being wary of her brother-in-law’s business partner Wade’s romantic advances. He’s dated around and broken several hearts. But Jocelyn makes him want to think about committing to a woman and a house that might be forever. This had a Hallmark romance feel to it with the sweet, sad, funny, back and forth, and romantic moments.
The holidays always add something special to any story. Love the small town atmosphere and location because you always have those people that love to interfere and offer their advice. Interesting characters to follow along in this story. Love a good holiday romance.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are engaging and amazing the connection is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. A must read!
The heart of the story is the connection and blossoming love between Wade and Jocelyn. Jocelyn is in town visiting her family over the Christmas holidays, something she both dreaded and couldn’t wait to do. The death of her mother five years during the Christmas casts a pall and a wave of guilt over all of the joy of the season and being with her family. The pain and guilt were behind her leaving, not finishing her interior design studies and moving to Florida. Missing her family and feeling a growing distance between them has brought her back to her home town during the holiday season that she dreads the most. Meeting Wade, her brother-in-law’s business partner and now a much lived family friend unexpectedly sparks a new feeling deep within her. Learning they have personal loss in common makes another connection and his insight into the bittersweetness she is feeling leads to her feeling understood. He family has all moved forward in life after their loss, but she feels stagnant and still caught up in her grief and guilt. Wade has been known to be a bit of a player, but Jocelyn has stirred something within him he thought he would never feel. He begins to believe that she is the one he has been waiting for, the one meant for him. As they get to know each other, the connection between them deepens and their hearts become involved, though his reputation with the ladies makes Jocelyn worry about giving her heart to him. Will Wade and her family convince her to return to town permanently and to reclaim the life meant for her closer to her family? Will she and Wade be able to let go of the past, including the pain and the guilt, and move toward a happily ever after?
This poignant, sweet and charming story may well steal your heart as it has done mine. The cover of this book may indicate that it is a Christmas romance, but in can be read and enjoyed any time of year. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I definitely enjoyed this book. It was cute from start to finish and had a good story line. Theme: girl running from her past meets boy who has a similar past and they fall in love. Gave me all the winter vibes I needed for a Christmas romance.
He's a playboy not looking for commitment, she's trying to work through hurtful memories. This is a sweet small town romance that takes place at Christmas time. An enjoyable read. I received an ARC for an honest review.
Jocelyn is struggling with Christmas because of the passing of her mom. It is tough going through the holidays. Then Wade enters and changes her thoughts and feelings. I got caught up in the story and could not put the book down. It was a great book.
How many times do we think I can't go home, they don't want me there, I am so out of touch with what is happening at home, I did a stupid thing when I was younger and I can't face going home. Well, in the book it is Christmas and we see our main character going home even though she feels responsible for a tragedy that happened years ago. She moved from PA to FL and started her life over but she is realizing that she really has no life in FL. Her father and his new wife as well as her sister and her family are living there and she is missing out. Not only that but one day she would like to get married but she hasn't found anyone to spend her life with in FL and she is miserable in her job. So she goes home and lets find out what happens. Miracles are common during Christmas will she discover her miracle and find the happiness that she has been seeking.

I thought this book had a good overall plot and I liked all the family. Unfortunately, I found spending time in Jocelyn's head exhausting. She is incredibly self-centered and woe is me. For example when the kids are going to be in a play. Her thought isn't oh that will be hard for me. It's everyone will be so crushed when that is hard for me. What?!?!
Honestly, it made the book a bit unpleasant to spend so much time with an unpleasant character. And unfortunately, Wade wasn't even remotely likeable enough to win the book for me.

This is the 2nd book I've read written by Jillian Walsh; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the 1st book in the New Haven Falls Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Jocelyn & Wade; she returns to her hometown for a holiday visit but the memories of her mother’s death keeps her from enjoying the holidays but after meeting him she begins to enjoy her time there.

This is a sweet Christmas romance with some lovely characters. I thought Wade was sweet and funny. Jocelyn was a little hard to warm up to, but she grew on me. Her issues could be a bit tiring at times even though I can understand her grieving. The romance was a little on the quick side and the ending felt like it came together rather fast. Overall it was a nice, enjoyable read.
I enjoy meeting new authors and getting the chance to read their books. A Mistletoe Romance was just as sweet as it's cover. It was hard to put down. It was a fun read to a happy ending.
What a sweet, small town Christmas romance. I felt like I was reading what would be equivalent to a hallmark Christmas movie (love those). I loved to see Jocelyn and Wade's romance unfold! Great, feel- good, Christmas romance! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series this Christmas too!
I received a free copy through a Goodreads Giveaway and left my honest review. Thank you!
That's what happens when you assume you know something. Frequently you're wrong. Family is more than what you are born into, it's a way of life. I love how people can move on after tragedy. The pain is still there, but bearable when shared with people that care about you.
This book is a good Christmas centered one that deals with taking chances, not living in our past and grief. Even though it focuses quite a bit on these areas it's a cute love story. The only complaint the ending seemed a bit rushed.
This was a cute and sweet romance story set during Christmas time! It did feel a bit slow and like not much happened overall, but is still a great book to read if you want a sweet book with no steam. It's essentially the book version of a Hallmark movie.
This could have been a great read if the author had made Jocelyn a bit less whiny. I found myself exasperated with her through most of the book. It just missed being good. Sorry…I wanted to like it.
