A Beautiful Struggle

Rate this book
Mom, I know you did the best you could. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, but it was a good life.
Even after everything that has happened, I’m proud to call you my mother.
I don’t know why, but there’s one more thing I have to do.
I have to talk to my father.

I really enjoyed that sad short story, loved the letter format! It reminded me a bit of the perks of being a wallflower.

This part : “She didn’t believe me when I told her about
it, saying that this was a nice place, and Michael was a nice guy, so if this stuff was happening—which she didn’t think it was—then I needed to take one for the team and deal with it.”

This part had me baffled oh my god… and to think that it truly happens in real life breaks my heart. Fuck this pig Michael and fuck the mom as well, she should have protected her but later on I find out that she was under drugs and alcohol which I completely missed (doesn’t excuse what she said tho it’s still bad), fuck the biological dad as well for having left the mom to take care of the kid alone.

I’m glad that Terra found her semi/happy ending with Daniel and doesn’t end up repeating the cycle with her mom. I’m glad she died having married the love of her life and I’m glad Michael died!

Anyways very bitter sweet, I enjoyed it
