It’s Halloween and witchcraft is afoot… Barely has the quaint village of Kington had time to recover from the horrific events of the spring, when the Sinclair family uncovers a sinister web of jealousy and revenge. A dead raven on their doorstep heralds a warning. Stay clear. And as another grisly murder shakes the village, Miri is certain it’s not as clear-cut as the police believe. Can she act before the killer strikes again, or will the threats to her family prove too much?
Another cracking story from Jane Hurst. A bit of a slow burn this one and slightly less of a "oh shit" moment with the reveal. Enjoyable nonetheless, and I'm looking forward to the next one. A cosy murder mystery.
I was actually waiting for this to be posted to Goodreads so that I could post my review...although it has provided me with a few weeks more to think about the book and I thought that this book was right on par with her first novel. I liked how it was a bit longer which allowed for more detail and setup but it did seem that it took a while for the action to start and then towards the end of the book it seemed like she was rushing to wrap everything up...if the book was about 50 pages longer I don't think that anyone would have complained because it would have allowed her to expand the ending and give us readers more detail. That being said I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next installment in the Sinclair Mystery series!
