I wait impatiently for each new Life After War book and haven't been disappointed until book 18. The horrible torture both mental and physical was very very dark and depressing. A little horrible torture would be bad enough but this was the entire book. It was obvious Angela White did some serious research on torture and wrote a thorough example of it. I have to give her credit on the book for the insight but personally I hate watching or reading about torture. If it's a movie I fast forward through it. I liked Angela's rescue and the decision to destroy the evil both currently and in the future.
Marc and his team of Eagles are kidnapped and tortured and brainwashed.
Angela sent the team of Eagles off knowing it wasn’t going to go well but praying She and Marc were wrong. The camp started to hear the team screams in their sleep as they walked in the dreams that became nightmares. It finally made those in camp fight to see that Angela send a other team to rescue their Eagles. Angela leads the rescue party again knowing that it wasn’t going to be as easy as they think. Praying that she will still be able to save them from their selves.
That went dark rather quickly! Once again we are given fast paced action and characters that we feel strongly about. This is the 18th book in this series and yet it always holds my attention and the last page comes way to fast. If this is the first you are seeing these books go back and start with the first one. Worth it for disaster/collapse fans with a bit of sci-fi fantasy.
Wow what a thriller. I’m not sure I was prepared for what I just finished reading. Angela’s brilliance as an author is off the charts . I have no idea how she processes all of the story lines but she brought it all together. I can’t wait for the final story to unfold. Until then 👍
This was certainly a dark instalment of the post-apocalyptic fantasy where descendants attempt to keep Safe Haven 'safe'. Another mission sees horrendous events, torture and experiments. Powers collide in imaginative ways. There were plenty of dilemmas, thoughts and feelings, each challenging and reaching for answers.
All the characters were suited to the plot - villains, heroes and those in between.
Well-written and fast-paced with an amazing sense of place.
The team has infiltrated the lab, but things happened that they didn’t expect. Can they get past what was done to them and come back to Safe Haven? Do they want to? This book is one of the more violent, but the stakes are high for both sides and each wants to eliminate the other by any means.
All I can say is this book was everything that I thought it would be all the books of the past and this one tie everything together and leand at least you cry cry crying and hoping for the best because i'because after all all we can do is hope
Wow!! This series has been phenomenal! Excitement, heartbreaking all kinds of feelings in this story! I can’t wait to see how the future plays out! Great Job
However, I am left with serious misgivings as to just how different the "bad guys" are from the "good" and vice versa???Or, am? Will be reading on.....
