Thirty-six and here he is attending his retirement party. Not by out of necessity due, to another knee surgery. Before there can be, a crippling and final injury, Angus (Coffee) Bean has decided, to step down as captain of, the Arizona Rattlesnakes Hockey Team. He will retire while he’s at it. He tells them multiple times, NO RETIREMENT PARTY. But, it doesn't mean he won't be there for his guys, his friends, no his family because that is what they are, his family. He has no clue what, to do next in his life. There are offers, but nothing seems, to fit or feel right.

Suddenly, he sees a woman he spent two nights together with, at two separate, Winter Olympic ceremonies. They had fun together. Their attraction was real, but their timing was never right. It has to mean something that she’s here on this night in the hotel bar on the night of his retirement party. He now knows what he wants to do with his life and it has everything to do with Sloan Wilcox, who is now twenty-nine. When they met, she was twenty-one, and time moved fast. He let her slip away, but he knew the distance between them, would shatter them.

She couldn't handle another complication. Her parents had died when she was seventeen and she was raising her sister, Sasha. Now in college. Sloan’s a ‘figure skater,’ and her partner was verbally, and mentally abusing her, and her coach allowed it. The last time they saw each other Coffee was upset because she was dating her skating partner. He desperately wanted this woman in his life. He approaches her and sees the tattoo they each got, that wonderful night out, they spent together. They hug, talk, catch up, and he gets her to go, to his party.

Everyone that meets, Sloan at the party, loves her. The sexy moments are hot, are steamy. Coffee wants her, to move, to Arizona closer, to him and Sasha. She’s confused. She got rid of one demanding, cheating man. Sure as heck not, to jump back into a relationship, with another demanding man. Sloan likes it in the bedroom, but not in her everyday life. Coffee is used to directing, a team and has no clue how to talk, to a girlfriend. They both need, a wide learning curve. She too is used, to being in charge. She has been both, a sister and a mom, to Sasha during the crappy teen years, yikes!

I enjoyed the story seeing the two of them, so vulnerable with each other. Yet, they came together, to talk it out not holding back their true thoughts, and feelings.

This is the beginning of a new series about the Arizona Rattlesnakes Hockey team. Captain Angus Bean, nicknamed "Coffee" is attending a retirement party in his honor. His mind isn't quite ready, but his body cannot suffer any more injuries so he reluctantly attends. Staying in the same hotel is Sloan, a former Olympic pair skater who Coffee had wanted for many years, but she wouldn't leave her partner, until he cheated on her and tossed her aside. Will this now be Coffee's chance?

It's a very sizzling story, but I would have liked to have seen a little more relationship building!
