It's been a while since Emily got laid. And her last relationship? She can hardly remember, it was so long ago. But that means she's due for an exciting fling! Emily's about to meet the one whose touch will set her on fire. Age Rating: 18+
It was confusing because I didn’t know whether to root for Liam or Alex. And I wanted to root for Liam, but then Emily sleeps with BF Alex, and we get both their POVs and Alex seems to be in love with her and she seemed to love him too. Then after Emily sleeps with Liam again and seems to be about to sleep with Alex again, they stop naked in the heat of the moment and the story goes on. It’s like I missed something and this wasn’t the first time the story just jumped mid-chapter (maybe because I read it on Galatea). Eventually the author tells us both Alex and Emily realized they loved each other but weren’t in love…? Huh? How did that revelation come about? Especially on Alex’s part. Anyway, not a lot of character development. It won’t be a memorable story or memorable characters, but if you want smutty this is an easy read filled with many mentions of “hard” and “wet” etc.
Update. Just finished book 2 about Nicole and Ryan. Ugh it gets worse. I took away a star for that. Nicole and Ryan both jump to the worst conclusions and aren’t mature enough to communicate. She very much annoyed me with her resistance and lying to herself. They eventually get on the same page and the end was so rushed. Like the author decided to do the cliche ex-scenario and then just rushed an ending in the same chapter. And it was cheesy and not cute.
I would recommend reading this instead of listening to the audiobook version on Galatea - the AI narration's intonation is off and gets the tones wrong and throws you off a bit and sometimes sounds like multiple narrators for the same character adding to the confusion. And along with the awkward breaks (see below) it makes it hard to follow at times.
I enjoyed the story but I feel like at multiple times the scenes ended abruptly and I had to make sure I hasn't accidentally skipped through some of the content. Scenes would end awkwardly or just leave you wanting more. The story also has some gaps that were not developed enough.
Like the plots. They intertwined was a very nice "Touch". I don't like cliffhangers or left to my own devices, I am not a child. Just end it. This book did just that, lots of twist all tidy at the end.
