After finishing the new Beatrix book that felt like a stopgap to make some money, this felt closer to the spirit of the original series. Trying not to give too much away, I'm still trying to come to grips with a particular fire scene. We seem to be asked to believe that someone could belly crawl considerable distances carrying two five gallon cans of gasoline (each weighing appx. 30 lbs.). And then dragging the empties away while trying to avoid detection crawling In long grass? Sorry, doesn't pass the risibility test. And seeing that you still haven't figured out the difference between "to lie (or recline)" and "to lay ( or place something)" , I left notes at the site of one of several misuses. As with the Beatrix book, there's no question that another 50-80 pages of carefully crafted composition would have gone a long way to making these books feel less formulaic and more L.T. Ryan.
Blake is trying to find his parents in Florida. Fezz and Ian are on their way to California. For Blake nothing is easy. There's no one home at his parents. But they are at the church. Unfortunately, Blake is not allowed in. So in steps Haelie. Fezz's car breaks down and he and Ian end up in a small town. The tow truck driver drops them off at the motel with instructions to contact him the next day. As luck would have it, the parts need to be ordered. And that's the beginning of their visit to that little town. Now you have to read this to find out how both story lines play out. You won't be disappointed. Great job. Thank you.
Unlike some reviewers, the mix of the two different stories didn't bother me. I wanted to know where Fezz was and what he was up to after the ending of the book 6. For me, the book was 4.5 stars until Curtis and Evie had their conversation towards the end of the book. It was like Curtis was a completely different person. I just didn't buy it and thought it hurt the ending.
I wished the story had more team action instead of two of the team members with separate stories that didn't include the other team members. I hope the next book will have the whole team on a mission. It will be interesting to see how Jodi fits into the team.
Overall, it's a fast read and if you like this series I would recommend reading the book.
Fezz and Ian take a road trip. Blake and Haeli go to Florida to see his parents. They both run into trouble that they solve. Blake meets a half brother he was unaware of that turns out is a psychopathic killer who is arrested with his help, rescues his father and his mother decides to stay behind. Fezz, Ian and a homeless girl his age, Jodi, fight a motorcycle gang with a little help. Everyone is back home including Jodi and Blake's dad. Can't wait for the next story.
After going to Florida to connect with his parents Mick/Blake and Haeili run into a cult unlike anything they were expecting. On the other side of the country Fezz and Ian were trying to figure things out when their broke down truck landed them in a small town with its own problems. Loved the action
Good read, but not one of Ryan's best. Living here in Clearwater, Florida, makes this story even better for me because I know the locations and the ways that the semi-cultish religion has woven it's way into the life of the city's residents. Overall, I enjoyed the book and story. I just have enjoyed the other Ryan books plots and storyline more.
What I enjoyed was the different story lines running through this book, and how each chapter was short enough to keep you intrigued and also interested. A great read that featured a lot of new characters, who I hope we get to know in the next book.
Another fine book in a great series. What’s next for this group of misfits? Looking forward to the next book. If you enjoyed the previous books you should really enjoy this one. These are a bunch of down to earth good people on a mission to clean up the world one step at a time. ENJOY
Blake is searching for his parents, while Fezz is seeking a new life. Both have their epiphanies, but not without some battles along the way. Intriguing story!
With the introduction of another Smart member I look forward to many new and different story lines! This one had a huge suprise near the end! Can't wait to see how this evolves.
Recommended to anyone that likes action and LT Ryan. Another book that I found almost impossible to put down once I read the first page. Only disappointment is that I have to wait almost a year for the next Blake Brier novel!
Yes more than and actually three. The first one is easy to answer but the Evie reversal is more nuanced. Much like Ben Porter in his series which I think you’re gonna love!!
I think I've read every book in every series by L. T. Ryan. Character development is amazing they become almost real people who I'd like to meet. My one complaint... Write faster😁!
Excellent story or stories. Each character had their own story and it was good reAding going back and forth. I've been enjoying LT Ryan books and shall keep on as long as he keeps writing.
I really enjoy the Blake Brier series and cannot wait for the next release. I'm ready to see what he and Haeli get mixed up with next... and the new Fezz-Ian combo!
The multiple storyline was fascinating and separate but pulled everything together at the end. The group is back together and has added more people. I look forward to the next step.
Another great read. Seriously this series gets better and better. I can’t put the book down. I’m glad I’m retired because I stay up till the wee hours….So much excitement, happy times and sad times. But they are a TEAM!!!
I really loved this book because of Ian and Jodi..so sweet so touching and the love that Fezz found for these two children is awsome, and everyones immediate acceptance of Jodi was heartwarming.
This series is good easy reading. The plot keeps rolling on. Nothing too violent. Justice wins. Love prevails. The characters aren’t deeply developed, but that’s ok.
