If you've read "Into the Quiet," (Cupid's Fall #2), you may recognize "Fixer Upper" as the Henry the Handyman age-gap romance Ruthie secretly posted online. This novella is a standalone side story of the Cupid's Fall series - no gods, no curses, just two humans trying to make it work.
Believe it or not, my professional career began in a pinstripe suit and practical pumps - yep, I was a CPA before a midlife awakening sent me down the creative writing rabbit hole. First experimenting with fanfiction, I discovered a love for bending canon, which I've gleefully applied to the already-quirky cast of characters from ancient mythology. First Quiver is my debut novel and book one of the 4-book Cupid's Fall series.
This was exactly what I needed to read after some of the crazy emotional books I’ve read lately. This was so lighthearted but with a little steamy edge to it. I enjoyed shy Thea and outgoing Henry together- he was just what she needed… and vice versa. I’ve read age gaps with older men, but this was the first older woman book and it was done perfectly. Give this book a go if you are looking for a quick little feel good romance story that makes you smile!
What a fun read! I just love an older woman/younger man story. And this one absolutely fit the bill. It had me smiling all the way through. Thanks for another entry in the Cupid series!
This is a flirty and fun romance. Her house needs serious repairs and she loves to bake. Along comes the hunky handyman that loves desserts. He is a little younger but that doesn't matter when like blossoms in to love. And then of sourse there is the pirate...
Such a cute, quick read that the author has expertly ensured still includes the right amount of anticipation and spice. I found Thea to be relatable and I loved reading about her journey 😍
Henry the Handyman was a fully developed character with nuance... Thea, however was just a ball of neurosis that was not completely fleshed out. It's a quick read but character building is lacking and the actual building process was not detailed enough.
