I know that it is all about strategies to survive in this imaginative world. However, I still feel extremely sad when I have to accept the fact that violence is an important part of human nature.
Survival continues for Kim Dokja and party. Taking over different stations to survive the 4th scenario for The King’s Path. Dokja discovers he isn’t the only Reader of Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse but he is the only one to have completed it. He continues to grow his party using tricks and smarts including impersonating the protagonist Joonghyuk Yoo. What could go wrong?
read the whole thing as the webnovel online, so i cant say much to the single volume or the translation.. but ORV as a whole is a great story, packing great story telling, emotions and action! (tho changing the word 'Dokkaebi' in the physical release is kinda dumb..)
Biased as hell bc I’m already a fan but this is one of my favorite early arcs so I had a great time. It’s hard to cut up web novels into physical books bc it’s not as standard in where a book should begin or end - ORV suffers from that too in the physical books; the beginning of this book just picks right up from the end of the last but if you can’t remember what happened then im sure it can be a struggle. The end of this book, however, had a perfect stop point.
Instead of just creating random characters, the choice to use figures readers would know (historical figures, mythical figures, etc), ORV educates its readers and increases the emotional investment. This strength shines greatly in this particular arc.
Some stories like this is boring bc the MC seems OP and what’s the point? But ORV does such a good job of making you feel like - yes dokja is OP but by his knowledge - but he can fail.
I will continue to be obsessed with these books forever. I just think Kim Dokja is a perfect main character. I love him so much. Overall this book was quite fun. We moved along a good bit in the story now that we have our main Dokja crew and main Joonghyuk (or however you want to romanize his name) crew so that allowed us to push the story forward a bit more. I did love that we finally got Han Sooyung in this book! I've been waiting for her to show up (I say like I haven't at least read the original first volume before). Overall an exciting read. I can't wait to keep following Dokja on all of his adventures until the very end.
Beautiful book, I love the cover and art in the front of it! The story was really good (as always) and I'm now waiting for the next novel to come out. :)
