It was a pretty good book. The effort from the author was very visible. It was a very well written and well researched project. I mean, the author seemed to know how the underworld and police department of Pakistan works, as she didn't write the mob scenes like we see in many other mob books. It didn't appear to be fantasized but how the things may actually work.
Talking about couples, although I hate age difference trope but I loved haddad and bakhtawar. They were my motivation to read the book completely. They were meant to be together, they had to.
I loved how Sikandar was with his wife but his "trampling" everything was getting kinda annoying for me. Other than that, the nickname thing (ray of sunshine?) also felt cringy and didn't feel like a character nessecity but, okay author, you do you girl.
Personally I don't like the fact that there were so many english narrative statements. (Like, wo ek dashing beast lag raha tha etc.) I don't mind english terms in urdu novels if the character is saying these terms because I understand that's how the character may talk. But english narration in urdu novel? That was a big turn off.
Other than that I loved the book, literally binged 1233 pages in six nights. I was working on my novel and this book made me want to pause and read it. I really liked it. 👍🏼
