It started with a spark. Now it’s an all-out blaze…
As one of Fire Station 11’s bachelors, I get roped into the annual First Responders’ Auction every year, and it’s always the same. A little lame, but for a good cause. Nothing worth remembering.
Until this year.
When Veronica Lively ended up on a date with me—thanks to her friend’s bid—the sparks flew right away.
It was the perfect recipe for a one-night stand—I was focused on being promoted to captain, and she was pouring her heart into her new job.
Simple, right?
Not so much. When a fire broke out at the restaurant where Veronica worked as a chef, I was the one who put out the flames—and comforted her when her jerk of a boss said it was all her fault.
Now she’s leaving town, and I can’t let it happen. Because what we have is real. This isn’t a drill.
Kasey Krane is a tattoo artist living in the beautiful (and hot) state of Texas. She enjoys drawing but writing has recently become a new passion for her. Especially when it's too damn hot to do anything outside. Whiskey neat is her drink of choice and she's never met a truck she doesn't like. Enjoy her bad boys, she sure does.
Big Hose is the first book in the Fire Station 11 series and is my first by Kasey. The main characters are Veronica and Cody and it’s set in the small town of Brookfield.
Cody was born and raised in Brookfield, but Veronica comes from LA after investors open a warehouse as a French restaurant, for fine dining. Suffice to say Veronica and Cody meet, when Veronica’s bestie “buys” her a firefighter at a charity auction…awkward🤪
I had a few genuine laugh out loud moments while reading the dialogue between some of the male characters. I was lucky enough to get all five books in this series and I’m looking forward to reading them all. I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and willingly leave my honest review😁
Veronica moved to Brookfield after her boyfriend of 5 years left her for another woman. Veronica is a head Chef and she works at a French restaurant that is in an abandoned warehouse. Veronica loves being a Chef. After a long day she went home and ordered pizza and went to shower. Her friend Haley showed up and took Veronica to an auction. Cody is a fireman and he is hoping to become the Captain. Cody is part of the auction. Haley wins the evening with Cody but she gives it to Veronica. Veronica and Cody go to a restaurant that his friend owns and Veronica tells him that she wants to take him to her house. Veronica and Cody end up having sex that night and then again the next morning. Cody has always believed that he can’t have a relationship and be the captain. Two weeks later Veronica hasn’t seen nor talked to Cody. Veronica is getting the restaurant ready to open and as she is checking thing she sees smoke. Cody and Station 11 get the call for a fire. When Cody shows up he looks for Veronica. Veronica loses her job and she has an interview in Dallas. Cody doesn’t want her to leave, he wants to have a relationship with Veronica. Veronica needs a job but she also wants to see where things go with Cody. Will Cody go to Dallas to tell Veronica he wants her to stay? Will Veronica find a way to be a chef and stay in Brookfield? Will Cody and Veronica find love and happiness in Brookfield, Texas? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Veronica (h) moves to the small Texas town of Brookfield to head a French restaurant, eager for a fresh start after a painful breakup. Cody (H), a committed firefighter with ambitions to become captain, meets Veronica during a charity bachelor auction. Though their initial encounter is awkward, a spark ignites between them and things quickly heat up between the two. Their connection deepens after a fire destroys the restaurant where Veronica works. As they navigate the aftermath, Cody and Veronica find solace and understanding in each other, as he encourages Veronica to believe in her talents, while she helps Cody open up emotionally. Veronica receives an offer from a high-profile restaurant far from Brookfield , leaving her torn between pursuing her professional dreams and her feelings for Cody, who realizes how deeply he cares for Veronica and hopes to convince her that their future is together, albeit through a different path. Hot and steamy firefighter, small town romance, exploring love, connection, purpose, resilience, community, self-belief, sacrifice, and taking chances.
What a great start to this series, Fire Station 11. In the 1st story it starts off with the annual fundraiser auction and this year Cody, a firefighter is bided on by Veronica a local chef. There date is unexpected by Veronica where Cody takes her to his friends restaurant and they enjoy the place by themselves. They continue the night spending it together only to not stay in touch over the next several weeks. When a fire breaks out at Veronica’s restaurant Cody is there and makes sure she’s taken care of and even takes her home and helps her deal with the trauma and scare of the fire. These two have a wonderful connection and chemistry that they learn to become a couple against all odds. I love how Cody makes a big step to show Veronica what’s most important, them together! I look forward to reading about all the other firefighters at Station 11. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
While both Cody and Veronica were focused on their careers, their steamy one-night stand held the promise of so much more. Yet, despite the steamy sex, they went their separate ways without exchanging contacts and that seemed to be that. Until the fire! As the fallout from the fire leaves Veronica without a job, Cody is there to offer support. I loved the way Cody looked after Veronica, especially when her boss turned out to be such an a**hole. The banter between Cody and Veronica was so much fun with some real laugh out loud moments. Once again, the firefighting scenes were realistic and breath-taking (I’d already read Big Flame before this book, so technically read them out of order, although they’re both standalones). I loved the way Cody fought for Veronica, after a little push from his friends makes him realize she’s the one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cody is a firefighter that wants to be chief. He’s in the auction they have to make money for the firehouse and a Childrens Charity. He’s one of 11 bachelors and has done it before. Veronica is a chef at the French restaurant and her friend takes her to the auction. She bids on Cody and wins giving him to Veronica! He thinks that they’ll have a one night and then go their own way. But after their night he’s at work when there’s a fire at the restaurant that Veronica is working at. He saves her but her boss blames her and she’s fired! Now she’s ready to leave town but he’s not ready for their one night to end as he’s thinking she’s the one! Can he convince her to stay? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. She
Veronica is new to town, she moved here for the head chef job at a new restaurant. Her friend talks her into go to the annual First Responders’ Auction. She ends up on a date with a hot firefighter, Cody. No expectations just an one night stand. When a fire breaks out at her restaurant, Cody is there to support her when her boss is a jerk.
Cody has always put his career first, he is about to be promoted to Captain, never dating anyone. But there is something about Veronica that has him questioning that, especially when it seems she might be leaving town.
These two have chemistry that is hotter than the restaurant fire. Loved Cody, he pulled his head out of his butt before it was too late.

A kind-hearted chef meets a sexy fireman at an auction?! What a sweet & steamy read!! The author did a great job with this sweet romance and world building. There was drama, suspense, love-at-first-sight, romance, danger and humor. It was very believable and I loved that it ended in a HEA!! There just aren't that many HEA's around, authors usually like to end in a cliffhanger and you have to read 2 or 3 books before the HEA comes. This author isn't like that and I appreciate it so very much!! This was the first book I read of theirs and I'm hooked to read the rest of the series!!

They both have their lives mapped out for themselves, but that will all change when they meet. Veronica works hard and has devoted herself to her career as the head chef (in a relatively new restaurant in Brookfield). And likewise Cody has been focused to become the next fire chief, although that begins to change for them after Veronica has an auction won date with Cody. Will they both let each other in their lives? I loved the drama, sweet moments (of caring) and the sparks between them, although neither are perfect (they make a great couple to read about). I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.
Cody reluctantly puts himself up for a Firefighter Bachelor auction and Veronica a chef wins him. This is hot steamy, dramatic and intense. While Cosy is reluctant at first he can't believe his luck when he gets Veronica as his winner. I love the ultimate connection between the two which is hot and heavy initially. While there is a cooling off period they soon pick up where they left off, having the overwhelming compulsion to be together. I really enjoyed this book. It was light, enjoyable and easy to read. Great story!! This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
Veronica is surviving in a small Texan town trying to run a high-end restaurant after fleeing from her past in LA, when An impromptu night out brings more than she bargained for in the form of a hot fireman, Cody. One steamy night is all it takes to set off a chain of events that will change her life in more ways than one.
If you love small town romance then this book is for you. Great story and I forward to the next book in the series.

Wow what an amazing new series from Kasey Krane and for those familiar with her work very different than anything she was written before. Big Hose follows independent and sassy heroine Veronica as she makes the leap from big city girl to small town living and Cody a fire fighter determined to be chief. This is a spicy, humorous, sweet story about new beginnings and finding what you least expect. I absolutely loved Big Hose and can't wait for the release of Big Flame to find out more about Evan and Ally. "I am voluntarily leaving an review for this ARC."
When a charity fundraiser in a small town has its annual auction with sexy firefighter Cody standing on the platform, expect the sparks to fly that even firefighters can't put out. Veronica, the new chef in town wins the bid, and as they say in romance books, the rest is history. Their story is a hot sexy read with fun and romance that will leave the reader smiling throughout their story. **I was gifted "Big Hose" via the author, and leave my review and my apologies for the lateness of my review.** 4.25 Stars!
A very new to me author but I’ll be reading more for sure. The characters feel real, their lives and problems are relatable although I’ve never been given a firefighter as an auction prize but that’s what happens to Veronica. She’s new in town, attends an auction with a friend who bids on Cody then gives her her winnings. They have instant chemistry. Their journey to a hea is not smooth but it’s filled with humour and heat. This new set of firefighters will have me reaching for a cold shower and a fan. 🥵
Oh wow! This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it immensely. It was fun and sassy. The characters were interesting throughout plus it was good story. I found myself invested in the characters and want to know each of there back stories. At least I don’t have to wait for Evan’s since the second book in the series will be released in July. Job well done Kasey. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Big Hose by Kasey Krane is the tantalizing story of Cody and Veronica. They meet at a charity auction. She’s a new chef in town and he’s a firefighter. One glorious night and its done. Until disaster strikes!!
This was a hugely romantic story and kept me eagerly turning pages! The characters are fun-loving and engaging and the story was excellent!!! Great read!!!!

This Book 1 in The Fire Station 11 Book Series has an interesting Romance Story , a well-crafted world, and interesting characters. These characters have unique personalities, detailed histories, and believable interactions. What an amazing read! Loved the characters, loved the storyline and especially loved the injection of humor exactly when it was needed. I ended the book wishing I could drive south in this great state of Texas and meet these characters (both leading and supporting); they just felt so very real to me. This was the first book I’ve read by Kasey Krane — I look forward to reading more…..
I enjoyed this fun romance. Veronica and Cody were easy to like, and their well-written story was a wonderful combination of cute, funny, sweet, steamy and dramatic that hit me with some delightful feels and swoon. This book read very smoothly, and it definitely brightened my mood which I find myself very much in need of recently. I am independently posting an impartial review.
A light fun read. I love the characters and storyline. The fire chief snd the chef who meet after a fundraiser auction if a date with him for the night. There’s an ease with one another and conversation flow. I was smiling and feeling good while reading that I was finished reading and relaxed. *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
This is the first book in the Fire Station 11 series, fast-paced and quick to read. An entertaining well-written story that kept my interest, I liked both Cody and Veronica, I thought the chemistry between them sizzled even though they didn't want a relationship at the time however when Cody rescued Veronica from the fire at the restaurant, they knew that they were meant to
Big Hose is a delectably fiery read. Main characters Veronica and Cody are each strong, independent, and passionate. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their banter is so much fun. With a lovely blend of action, romance, and connection, this is a hot start to the series and a great way to unwind.

This book is full of southern drawl, hot firefighters, and delicious eats! I loved how Cody helped Veronica get out of her head when anxiety was trying to run off with her! The one thing that I didn't like was the excessive use of "ya" in place of "you" -- sometimes they fit, but others... not so much. But seriously, this book doesn't disappoint!
Loved this book. Cody is a firefighter and he meets Veronica a chef at an auction for charity. The sparks fly but will Cody be able to convince her she needs to stay in town after a fire happens at the restaurant she worked at or will she just walk away?
I enjoyed this story and once I started it I couldn't put it down. The storyline is good and the characters are amazing. It is a captivating fun read, great chemistry and very entertaining. I happily recommend this book.
Veronica is a hard working chef, who meets Cody at an auction. Veronica finds another job, which would take her away from her new relationship with Cody. I love how Cody doesn't give up on Veronica. Excellent book.
This was a first book from Kasey Krane I have read and I was not disappointed in it. This story was about Veronica, a chef and Cody, a fireman, they were well liked characters, and it is a well written story. This is my honest review of an ARC.
ARC Review For honest review.veronica lively moved to Brookfield Texas for a head chef job and finds herself with more with lieutenant Cody Johnston from firehouse station 11 . Beautiful fantastic Romance. Love these characters.
