Absolutely loved it
I highly recommend this entire series to anyone and everyone. I feel like they are real people I had and have an emotional connection to. I hope this series doesn't end anytime soon. I have been there since book 1 and am not going anywhere as long as I can read or listen to Audible

So much to keep track of!
Another amazing entry in The Survivors' story! Let's see . . . Sarlun is away from Shimmal looking for his long lost sister Shula. Dean and Hugo are on an Alliance mission investigating another unknown world on the Shandra network. Jules is looking into a network of paired planets joined by a portal network at the planets' cores. Meanwhile, Shula is leading the Black Hole - a criminal organization opposed to the Alliance. So Parker and Dean end up wrapped in the middle of the Black Hole's conspiracy, Jules is finding paired planets and their role in the Black Hole organization, Sarlun is looking for his sister, Dean and Parker are stuck in the middle of the Black Hole leader's intentions of ruling the universe through the Alliance, self-aware robots are mimicking the Mary and Dean, Jules and Hugo, to frame them for destroying the new Academy just opened on planet Ebos. All my old friends are involved in desperate missions to save the Alliance, find Shula, stop Hulope, save Shimmal and get Sarlun back. Whew! Are they busy?!
Seeing all my friends and heroes again as they do what they do best - saving the Universe from despicable hands. New portals are discovered leading through the planet cores, the Shandra network is expanded again! Did I tell you that Jules and Dean are getting married? eventually. When the Universe is safe. Maybe. Promises to keep, worlds to explore and save, people to meet and secrets uncovered. The Parkers are at it again and the Universe all the better for it.
Enough twists and turns to puzzle even the staunchest mind! This storyline is amazing, if you can just keep up with it! The characters are all old friends seen through the mirrors of dozens of adventures on so many worlds, I love each and every one of them! And discovering that after twenty books, the adventure continues! An absolutely astounding read!

Tixa has too much power and when the Stranger comes looking for someone, he gets thrown into the Backyard, which is a hellish place. And when Jules comes looking for this person, she also gets thrown in. And what secret is Suma keeping from everyone? And who is the stranger who wants to destroy Shimmal? The planet is already removed from the Alliance. There is all this and more going on so sit back and enjoy this continuing series by Nathan Hystad. Another great book and I'm sad I have to wait for the next book to come out.

I enjoyed this instalment of the excellent fantasy/science-fiction series. I liked the concepts, the intriguing ideas, the twists and turns and the great sense of place. I also liked the changes in narrative so that we always know when Dean Parker is speaking as opposed to the rest that's in third-person. The characters fit the story perfectly, each having their own personality. Jules is particularly intriguing. Her brother, Hugo is also more in the limelight.
Overall, a brilliant series but now I have to wait until October for book 21.

Exciting series! Hard to put down
I had a hard time with the lack of romance, it seems people in love in this world hardly see each other, don't spend any time together, have no passion for each other, in fact, they hardly think about each other at all. This is a huge gaping flaw in the series. As far as action and imaginative stroud, it's fantastic. I just wished the love story was as good as the science fiction. Also, these peaceful resolutions are a bit wimpy.

Another great story in this series that continues to be fresh after so many editions.
Always a wealth of characters and unusual aliens to keep it interesting, along with the Parker family and friends who we've followed for their lifetimes and now their children's lifetimes.
Looking forward to the next one.

Why has this not been pick up for a science fiction series ? l just love all 20 books. Well done.
The family and close friends, adventure reading the epic battles. All the details are there you can almost visualize the ships and people. A must read. Thank you

loved the adventure
So glad that Sarlun is back since I am a big fan of the Shimmel race and love Suma. So grateful that each of the stories told weave together to create an awesome ending. This book moves at a fast pace and I appreciated that

Excellent as always!
Waiting with bated breath for the next installment of this wonderful series reminiscent of the style of "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" series. The tale has carried on for 20 books so far and I've read them as fast as I could! Highly recommended!

Another winner from Hystad on this journey.
When I started this series, I didn't think it would capture me as much as it has. I feel I will be at a loss when the end finally arrives. But when it does, it will be time to launch another Hystad series.

this has turned into a very good series
I’ve really enjoyed all the books with there stories and plots. Can’t wait to read book 21 and see what’s in store for the Parker’s and the alliance.

Good addition to the series.
Enjoyed the continuing adventures of the Parker family. Hugo has made a great adddition to the story line. Need to see more of Jules and Dean doing more together.
