You don’t have to be afraid when you read my books. Well—you might be terrified for the hero, because his arch-nemesis has him at gunpoint with his back to the river Thames, demanding that he hand over the code that could spell the downfall of Europe…
But you’ll never have to squint, worrying that the romantic scene is about to get FAR too steamy—or that, in a tirade, someone is about to spew a stream of obscenities that will make you want to shut the book and go take a shower.
I don’t write sexual scenes in my books. EVER. And I do not use profanity. EVER. And yes, God lives in my stories. He is the deep foundation—you can FEEL Him.
Yet, I can prove without a shadow of a doubt that WITHOUT ANYTHING risqué, you can still have the adventure of a lifetime between these pages. You’ll hold your breath, you’ll laugh, you’ll sit on the edge of your chair, you’ll stay up till two in the morning pinned to the page—and you might even cry. In fact, I’ll bet on that. And I HATE it when writers are lazy and tacky and beat you over the head with some philosophical or theological point they’re trying to make, instead of just TELLING THE STORY. So, I avoid that at all costs. Still not sold? Well, give one of these books a try. Go ahead—any of them! Whether we’re speeding through space, breaking through the ice on a frozen river, galloping on a chariot across the desert or running up the Asbru bridge chased by wolves…you’re still safe with me.

Wasn’t loving the writing, kept wanting to skim, and wasn’t getting a good visual of what was going on/their surroundings.

I liked the idea, but the way it was being executed wasn’t working for me and I didn’t feel like it was gonna end up giving what I wanted it to give

This is without a doubt the BEST fanfiction I have ever read (as anyone who knows me is aware). The characterization is absolutely perfect, the plot and setting are very original, and OH THE FEELS. The romance and the angst is just. INSANE. This has one of the most realistic progressions of their relationship I've ever seen, and I loved the whimsical, fantasy feeling it had. It was very reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland or Narnia. The first few chapters weren't superbly written, but the style gets progressively better. I cried multiple times while reading this, which is saying something for me, and THAT BALLROOM SCENE. THAT WAS THE BEST. THING. EVER. Also P&P quotes what more could you want?? Honestly a must read for dramione fans.

Wow...just wow. Probably the best Fan-Fiction I have read to this day (and I read a lot of them). I don't ship Dramione (and I honestly can't remember how I got started on this one), but this story just captivated me and I simply had to see it through! So well written, so well thought, such depth in character! I think I'm still somewhere inside the Room of Requirement reliving the vivid images the author has conjured in writing this brilliant fic, I'm still in love!

Absolutely loved the idea, really saw much deeper into Draco's character. This author has a great talent for giving depth to characters we wouldn't necessarily like. I can't wait to read more by this author. Brilliant story, well told, love the music and trailer as well. Spot on.

I am going to try and read every dramione ever. Even if it isn’t my favorite. I’m so proud of every author (especially fanfic) who puts theirselves out there. Really such an underrated piece of art. Thank you.

Though I will always love the works of J.K. Rowling, I feel this version of the end was even more interesting.
I loved the writing style, the additions of music and other books, and most of all, the fierce and vibrant love that bloomed between Draco and Hermione.
I love that many of the characters who died in the real story were saved in the series. I love that this wasn't one of those stories where the villain suddenly changes, but instead, the plotline was rough, tough, and rocky. There were lots of screaming matches, tears, and laughter and most of the character growth of both of them was slow and so gradual that I didn't see it coming right until it smacked me in the face.
This is the best fanfiction I have ever read, and it deserves an award.
At first I was repulsed by the idea of a romance between two such unlikely characters, but then I read the first line and discovered that this book was completely unputdownable.
This work is exquisite-a true work of art and their are no words to express the joy, sorrow, and love I felt while reading this tale.
This is unique because of how it was written; so many fanfiction authors gloss over some details, or worse, rewrite the story in a completely unrecognizable way, but this book mostly kept to the truth, and gave a new and entirely stunning meaning to the events of Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.
All in all, I think its safe to say that I will never forget Dramione.
P.S. This book is written in a professional hand and is nothing like the fanfictions commonly seen. There are few, if any errors, and nothing essential is left out or skipped.

This book was remarkably well written. I don't usually read romance, but, I was intrigued by the idea of Draco and Hermione and just had to give it a shot. "What the Room Requires" sucked me in immediately. Though, it does get a little too gushy in some bits for my liking, it was surprisingly interesting and very well thought out. It was a great story.
Well done, Alydia Rackham!

I really liked this different take! Super cute and a neat idea. Was a little confusing at times. But hit me in the feels at certain points, which is always a win. Was definitely YA but that fits with the rest of the HP series. The first person pov wasn’t my favourite but I got used to it after awhile.
Not sick of HP fanfic yet, so keep them coming!

Could not stop reading this!! So good. So sweet. I’m absolutely convinced that Hermione is the most wonderful character ever written.

The story is a Map of Tiny Perfect Things/Groundhog’s Day, Magician Nephew, Halfblood Prince mash up. It was a delight to read. Love the music, poetry, and book tie ins. Loved the ending. Delightful read.

This is one of the most beautiful fanfiction I’ve ever read.
The story plot, I mean, you can imagine everything.
Then, first they are inside the room trying to scape and working on them selfs. You feel like is a dream, then the second part of the story is like the cruel reality. I was crying every chapter.

Just beautiful and exactly what I needed at the time I did.
-Draco/Hermione POV (with a brief Harry POV)
-true enemies to lovers
-starts in 6th year and ends just after the war
-HEA with epilogue 2 years later
-forced proximity trope
-no smut

Beautiful characterization of both that I felt it so close to canon. Their journey while stuck in the room of requirement was one of growth and leaving the past behind. Draco’s growth in this one and realization that he is more than a pawn in Voldemort’s Death Eaters was everything to me. Hermione’s acceptance of his apology and her helping him see what a good man he is plus herself looking past the prejudices he has was also a wonderment. The love they felt for each other was so pure and just perfectly written.

Thank you, so so much for this

This was adorable! Draco and Hermione are stuck in the room of requirements. The room lost its mind (or did it?) and is only giving them things for each other, not themselves.

I loved it, loved the forced proximity-enemies-to-lovers. Also appreciated how they worked on their childhood/intergenerational trauma together.

The ending felt rushed, which was fine, this was a romance, not a fantasy fic.

I liked them both in this fic, and I appreciate how in any fic, Draco's brain is just as chaotic as mine.

3.5 very cutesy and goes fast but i didn't get the heart-wrenching and soul-conflicting dramione content that i was hoping for. loved the premise but i wish there was more to it somehow - i feel like the plot dropped after they left bc there was no details abt their experiences during the war and the author could've really taken adv of that to build up their relationship more ya know? esp bc they fell in love so "easily". solid ff but predictable altho the concept redeems it a little.

Loved this one! The first 40% was a bit slow/repetitive but it do feel like it was essential to the later half of the story and made the whole thing that much richer.

Wish I had more at the ending, and the singing moments were…interesting? But overall I truly loved and felt SO MUCH reading this one.

Okay, while I loved the plot of the book because it was so unique, I didn't like how rushed the ending felt. The author sped through some scenes that I felt would have furthered the development of the characters and their relationships with others, since most of the book takes place in the room of requirement. Overall, a good read with a take on Dramione that I haven't seen before

Shocked this is on here. Manacled somehow showed up, and then I saw there was other Dramione fics on here and I thought "hmm... let's just search this to see what comes up" and low and behold, it's here!;

One of my favourite Dramione fics I've read, it's always stuck with me and I've gone back to reread so many times. I love it 😭

4 / 5 - A Dramione fanfiction where they were trapped together in the Room of Requirements

This is quite good despite what people say. I have fun reading this and I finished it in 2 days. The idea itself is unique, even if the writing is not really to my liking. I also like how their friendship develops before involving deeper emotions such as love. My favorite part is after they get out of the Room of Requirement

One of the purest Dramione stories I’ve read. Definitely gave me an Alice in Wonderland type feel. I enjoyed every minute of it! Draco and Hermione were very believable in this and it felt very cannon-like. 5 stars!!
