I never belonged until I was chosen by an alpha, but our love is forbidden…
Volunteering was supposed to be a way to honor my grandmother’s memory, not a place to meet hot guys. But that’s exactly what happens when Chael lands in my life due to a string of disappearances and deaths at the nursing home I volunteer at.
There’s something different about the private investigator that goes beyond his breathtaking good looks. The way he’s behaving around me, anyone would think it’s his job to protect me rather than solve the case.
When I become a target, I discover that Chael’s far more than a private investigator. He’s a wolf shifter, who is the alpha of his pack. And he believes I’m his mate.
If I accept Chael, I’ll need to have the courage to become an alpha queen. But no matter how strong my feelings are for Chael, it’s forbidden for humans and shifters to be together. And it’s becoming dangerously clear that someone will go to any length to keep us apart…
I’ve read everything from this author and I have to say this was a disappointment. First of all her female characters always get themselves into unnecessary situations. I don’t want to call them silly but they all make very dumb decisions to be smart black women. I wanted to smack Reese so many times because she was so stupid. I actually liked Chael better when he was the mysterious cousin of the TX Townsends. This book was 368 pages which was entirely to long. This story could have been told in probably about 200 pages or less. The cover was the best part of this book. I have zero interest in reading about Chance because it will be another smart independent black women doing dumb stuff while putting herself in danger and as a black woman I have to say this author can do better in her portrayal of us. I gave this 2 stars because Like I said I’ve read everything this author has written so based on her past novels I gave this 2 stars.
I liked it, especially the last 70%. It was entertaining and I liked both MCs although Reese worked my nerves at times. If we had taken a little less time setting things up and having Reese question things we could’ve maybe expanded more on what we got in the last 70%. I also wanted to see them farther in the future in the epilogue.
Overall a nice book to read while I’ve been in a slump
Chael is The Man… lawwwwd, I want me a Chael! Reese didn’t think she was what any man was looking for, let alone a sexy hot as sin, drop dead gorgeous of a heartthrob like Chael … however, he is not just any man and his fated mate is no other than Reese. Can’t go against Fate, can we!? Not to mention Reese is about to discover that she had unbelievable , valuable hidden gifts that she knew nothing about. She is not just plain Reese. Life can’t never be simple, they have a lot of hurdles to overcome. See for yourself what happened. Keep them coming. Great read!
I received a copy of Chosen as an advance copy from the Author!
I have been waiting for Chael's book; the quiet strength that appears when his cousins needed him. This was my first time reading a Shifter book so it took a moment to get use to the references to "his wolf"; however, once I got into the book it was another winner by Tiffany Patterson. The main female character Reese suffered rejection her entire life, it was not until Chael that she grew a backbone and learned to love herself!! Reese had a giving nature when it came to others; however, with the right companion she grew in confidence, found her gifting and learned to appreciate all of herself.
I received and ARC copy and am so happy I did. This book was so hot and Chael is one sexy alpha. He’s mentioned in the previous Texas Townsend books but getting to know him was not a disappointment. I believe this is Tiffany’s first shifter book and she did good. Keeping me intrigued all the way through. I think this is likely the first of a spin off shifter series which I also can’t wait to read!
Tiffany Patterson never disappoints me!! Every story she producers is a work of art with a hot alpha and a strong female attached. Chael and Reese both stole my heart! Chael was an Alpha wolf shifter who senses his mate Reece upon visiting his cousin and wife in the hospital. Upon finding his one true fated mate he knows he must tread lightly. Reece is all alone in this world with exception of her few close friends, and her dog Henry. With a poor history dating and with the male population in general she begins to question Chael and his motives as soon as he starts to give her attention. The attraction is undeniable, and the chemistry is felt in every room they are in. When Reece needs help because the nursing home she volunteers for starts to have some suspicious circumstances its Chael who answers that call. From there they are thrown together and its up Chael to convince her its Mother Moon's work at hand and there is no mistaking who she is to him.
This book was everything I thought it would be and more. Spicy, dramatic, romantic, and of course another amazing testament in regards to the power of love.
ARC Review - Let me say first, I usually don't read paranormal stories, BUT "Chosen: The Nightwolf Pack Book 1" was indeed worth the read. The story starts out with Chael asking his Townsend cousin for help to look after Reese (his mate). She realizes that something is happening to the residents where she volunteers, and the doctor is involved. Of course Chael is not going to let her investigate on her own. However, Chael has trouble happening within his own pack and the Alliance. It takes Chael some time to get Reese to realize they belong together. She has issues with people leaving her; not wanting to be with her. Just when she is getting used to living at the commune and learns her unrealized power, the betrayal of someone close to Chael puts her in danger. The Nightwolfs are not a pack you want to go against. This is a must read. I can't wait for Book 2.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Reese had a heart of gold. She cared about others and did what she could to help. Chael knew Mother Moon picked out the perfect woman to be his mate, even if she was human.
Revenge to destroy Chael and his pack brought danger to Reese by association. It turns out the person you least expect to betray Chael was guilty as charged. Reese had a hard time accepting Chael as her mate through the lie of omission. She finally realized that Chael was just trying to keep her safe.
It's going to be interesting to see who Chance ends up with since he is so determined NOT to be mated. Tiffany never disappoints with her stories. I love how she seamlessly incorporated Chael's story with the Townsends.
This is an ARC review: So this is Mrs. Patterson first supernatural book and I must say not bad. I enjoyed the story overall. Chael after centuries of searching for his mate find her in Reese. When he was looking he didn't think she would be human and more that its one thing to find your mate but how do you convince them they are your forever.
I liked both lead characters the story did keep me in engage however I'm not going to lie this book did feel.familiar to other supernatural books I've read. But again not a bad book at all.
Finally I got to this book, but it took me a long time to read it, but turns out it was an okay book.
As much as I don't like giving 2 stars, especially to my favorite authors, this book was not cutting it for me. I was so excited to finally get to read this book, but keeping my interest towards in was difficult.
Lets start with the positives. First was Tiffany Patterson was making the jump into the Paranormal Romance genre. And I, for one was more then here for it. I love me a good Paranormal book, and I just knew she was going to kill it in this genre. But.... That kind of was not the case.
Nope. We're still staying Positive.
When Chael was first introduce to us, through the Texas Townsend series, I was antsy to read his book. He was another, sexy, strong, alpha male, who was going to take his own story by storm. His aura in their series was one that not only caught your attention, but held onto it.
I just knew once I got his book, I was calling out of work to jump right into it. Nothing and no one was getting in the way of my new book husband. Something about him being so Confident and certain of things, sent a chill of anticipation down my spine. I was ALL in, for reading his book.
And Reese, was no slouch either. She was another strong, take no one crap, woman, who would not only stand up for what she believes in, but fight for it as well. I just couldn't wait to see these two together, I knew this was a storm that I was waiting on to read.
So you can imagen my disappointment when their story didn't really portray any of that.
Now for the negative, I felt like their story just drop the ball for them. I found Reese and Chael difficult to really like, or stay interested in their book. Reese, is on the slow side, there was so many times when she confuse about things that are right in her face. For example, when she asks Sera, a couple chapter later, why she didn't shift to save herself. And I'm literally screaming at the book, "Are you dumb, they clearly said it earlier?!" There are a lot of scenes where I find myself overall annoyed when reading about her. I kept sighing and rolling my eye, and found myself repeating "God she dumb. Really annoying."
Chael kind of lack in the overall department. He is nothing like he was in the other series, when he was introduce. He drop the ball for me the most. I just couldn't like him anymore as a character or a ML. He didn't feel very Alpha for me but very much a Beta. Don't get me wrong, there are small moments when I like a couple of scenes with him. But that is far to little, compare to him entirely.
I feel that after a certain chapter it went down hill fairly quickly. It just lose the edge that it had in the very beginning. Also this story compare to all the other books that Tiffany Patterson has created, was a bit on the slow side. It felt like it just drag on and didn't exactly get anywhere. There was times where I was like "Oh, okay so she can kind of see the future, so maybe it will be more interesting." Nope. Instead of going straight to the point, there just was a long 'going around the bush' feel to it that just felt unnecessary, and out right annoyed me.
There a lot more I want to say but I feel like that could ruin this for other readers, so instead imma end this negativity with, it just prolong the point to a lot of things.
Now back to the positive, even though I didn't outright enjoy the book like her other books, there are a couple characters that caught my attention. For one Sera and her mates. What's going on there. See I thought she couldn't shift out right. But it seem like she shifted once and then something happen. What happen? I really want to know. How long would I have to wait for her book to come out. I can't wait.
Then there's Chael little brother Chance. There are a lot of times when Chael would mention something concerning his brother Chance, and then cuts himself short before continuing saying something else. That is so frustrating. Not only does this holds my interest throughout the book, there seems to be some little puzzle pieces, being drop down for us readers to try and figure out what is to come.
So now I'm sitting here with all these pieces, waiting to put it together to find out what's up with Chance. I think the biggest puzzle piece I have is that, Chance does not want a mate at all, and he is more then put off from it. Makes me wonder why, and what happen there. And much to my excitement, his book is the next one to come out and I can't wait to read it.
Hopefully it's won't take too long for it to be publish. I'm curious to find out who is his mate, since the woman I originally thought it would be, wasn't.
I can say this book was not my favorite to read, but it was an okay book to read. It took me a bit longer to finish it, but it could be a better book for other readers to read. I might found this one a slow read, but there are a lot of readers out there that enjoy those type of books. And if your one of those you will thoroughly enjoy reading this book.
All in all, I'm happy that Tiffany Patterson has stepped into this genre,
As I went through reading this book, I realized that I had read it before. This means that the book was forgettable since it was only published two years ago. The start had promise as Chael recognized his fated mate from her scent while visiting a relative, and made great strides to pursue her. Reese was more problematical for me. She has very low self esteem. Then she does some really stupid things. She was stalked by wolves, then chose to go out to walk her dog after dark, and got so lost in her musing she forgot to pay attention either to her surroundings or to how long she had been outside, setting herself up for being attacked. How could anyone forget that wolf experience in under 3 weeks. Then she gets upset with her mate, and despite the fact that she KNOWS there is danger for her in Texas, she rushes off the minute he has to leave to attend pack business, AND decides to tell no one. When he rescues her she gets mad that he put a tracker on her phone, which, if he hadn't she could easily have ended up dead. I cannot understand why so many female authors write about women who simply refuse to use common sense to protect themselves, always opting to ignore previous really dangerous experiences that they barely escaped from. Also Reese is a seer yet when she gets two very intense premonitions she chooses to ignore them or shake them off as nothing. Are you kidding me? Are there really young women out there that are just trying to get themselves killed ? Authors need to stop writing about so called intelligent women and then making their actions be those of people who are really stupid.
The way Chael loves Reese!!! I cannot get over it!! He has waited so long for his mate that he is so instantly enamored of her. Two parts I have to mention... when Chael tells Reese to NEVER question who she belongs to and when he tells her about the moment he KNEW she belonged to him! Reese, my heart breaks for Reese because she's been abandoned before and she has HUGE trust issues, but I think that she is probably the sweetest heroine I've ever read other than Patience from "Aaron's Patience" also by Tiffany Patterson. There's so much goodness in Reese and it's not a sickly sweet naivety, it's just a pureness of heart and and if anyone deserves to be loved and protected with the fierceness of Chael, it's Reese. Honestly, I didn't even give shifter romances a chance before Tiffany Patterson put this one out. Now, she has set the bar so high that all others will be read with this one in the back of my mind. I've been curious about Chael since the Texas Townsends were introduced. This book delivered on that building curiosity and then some! I know I've said that before about Tiffany Patterson, but it's TRUE, she just doesn't let me down. The shifter universe that she's built here is so intriguing to me. The future stories with other shifters that she set up in this book have me looking forward to the coming releases!
Welcome Back to the World of the Townsends well extension anyway. So Chael remember the Alpha wolf? Finally got his on story. Disclaimer this book is a slow burn although he knows she is his mate most of the book is about pack business, the alliance and Resse (His Queen) trying to come into her own.
About 70% in the book takes a very spicy turn and this is where the romance develops deeper and we as readers get to see the shift from pack business to some romance. Ms. Patterson can write some spicy scenes!!! Resse loves with everything in her but she has some insecurities and abandonment issues. For example, she has this strong attraction to Chael but still has a wall up due to trauma endured in childhood, although Reese is human she has a few tricks up her sleeve. As for Chael he was the alpha of his pack and ruled within the best interest of the family. As a reader you get to see these two naviagte through their own personal hangups to operate as a unit. If you love the Townsends this book is right up your alley. Now I cannot wait to read Chance book and Sera and the Montgomery cousins now these side stories will definitely keep your attention as well.
This had potential but the author's commitment to making the heroine as downtrodden & self loathing as possible made it blah. Reese was dull as drywall. She had no spark or fire. The unattractive & uncertain black woman catching the eye of a gorgeous white man is such a tired trope. Can black women authors please start writing more nuanced & interesting black heroines. This is a recycled story that's overdone except the heroine is black. If you think her being black means it'll be a heroine with more edge, street smarts or gumption, you are sadly mistaken. Reese could easily not be black. The only indication is the reference to hair. Black women are so dynamic in real life yet they are so dull in these books. Author made it clear Reese is unattractive by implying no man has ever looked at her. If Reese had street smarts that many of us have out of necessity this would have been more fun. These muted & boring bw characters are so tired. The implied foursome with Sera is going to be a snoozer because predictably she's already denying her feelings & running away. She won't be fierce, fun, or interesting. Another pathetic heroine who don't know her own mind and don't think she deserves to have what she wants in life so they will have to chase her. Ugh!
Although we were caught a sneak peek of both of Chael and Reese during My Forever ( Ace & Savannah’s story) I know their story would be a fascinating one. I am happy to report that is exactly was the case. Chael has found out that the Moon Goddess has selected Reese as his mate. In the midst, of making this a reality Chael has a host of things to deal with including helping Reese find what’s really happening to the nursing home Creekview where she volunteers at. Reese is battling with her abandonment and rejection issues.
Readers were treated to see how Chael & Reese’s relationship progresses as the story continues. We also have appearances of previous characters and introductions to new ones as well. I will say I am not always the biggest supernatural aspect when it comes to romance. However, the author did a great job of blending it in. I have a few questions and theories as the series progresses. Other than that, I enjoyed the story. I am looking forward to Chance and his mate’s story next.
I thought I enjoyed the Townsends books but wow the Nightwolfs are even better! We always get snippets of Chael and Chance and how the women swoon over them and the mystery that surrounds them. I was over the moon to finally get one of their stories. Chael has stumbled upon his mate Reese and she is more than he could’ve ever hoped for. Reese has met the man of her dreams but doesn’t feel worthy enough of him. These two are working together on a situation near and dear to Reese’s heart. She doesn’t give up on the ones she cares about and Chael being the alpha of his pack, is the same way. There are many complications that happen after their meeting. Danger, suspense, suspicion, betrayal, familial issues, revenge , longing, and more that are all happening while Chael is trying to show, convince and protect Reese who is his mate. This was an excellent read and start to what will be an amazing series!
what do i say about Chael. He was something else. From the very first almost meeting, when he smelled her in the room, from the flowers that she brought. He had waited for decades, only to find that his mate was a human after all. I laughed at all the women in the family found him extremely attractive and mysterious. I loved that he went into instant protect mode for her and when he pissed all around her house, warding off the wolves that were hunting her. And he was extremely sexual with her kinda, loved when he told her that she was not to be touching herself when he was around her. that was his job. And he did his job. She thought he was hiding things from her, but didn't realize that he was only protecting her. Her stubbornness wouldn't allow her to sit back and allow him to take the lead, which kept her in life in trouble. It worked out in the end. Can't wait to see who and what's going to work out with Chance.

I really wanted to like this. I’ve have started and stopped this book several times. So I sat down and made myself at least get through half before I called it quits. I DNF this book 46%. Usually I love complex female characters but in this case the h aka Reese.. wasn’t complex. She just sounded like a sorry as* teenager. So to find out sis was 30… made me laugh. She just acted so childish. I expect more maturity from a 30 year old women. Also her age changed twice within the book. I love wattpad so much but this was 100% giving 2015 wattpad shifter story (in the worst way possible). Many times in the story information of the characters changed. Which was slightly confusing. The H aka Chael was okay. He was remarkably by any means but he still made me tingly lol: I’m going to try and read this book again but at the moment…. I’m choosing to DNF. I feel like I could find a better IR shifter romance on wattpad or kindle.
I thought I couldn’t get enough of those sexy Townsend men and then Tiffany had to bring us the Nightwolf’s. Chael and his younger brother Chance.
Chosen has everything I love in a book. Action, romance and of course suspense. Tiffany didn’t give me one (what the hell) moment, she gave me two. And that cliffhanger…. Girlfriend, you know you were wrong for that! I’m not going to give any spoilers but trust me they will have you in all your feelings.
In reading this book you also get the opportunity to meet new characters (I’m already in love with the triplets) and you get a better understanding of the shapeshifting world she has created.
This new series from Tiffany Patterson is just what I needed. This new genre that she has created has me waiting on pins and needles for Chances book.
This story!! I started reading this book and was up until after 5am reading it. Unfortunately I only got to 89% before falling asleep but I woke up and just finished it this morning...12 minutes before noon lol. Reese annoyed me in the beginning but I think that's because deep down I related to her and then was jealous (as I tend to get when I read because fiction is so much better than real life). I think there were only 2 grammatical/spelling errors I noticed in the whole book, which I pay attention to because my ADHD will NOT let it go. Can't wait to see what's in store for Chance. Also how do you pronounce Chael? Like, I keep alternating between Kyle and Kale because I've never in my 36yrs seen anyone shorten Michael. It's cool but maybe throw the pronunciation in the dialog...lol just a suggestion.
I picked up this book because I was browsing Tiffany Patterson books and noticed that book 2 is coming out soon. I don’t read many Shifter romances because they aren’t very diverse, but this author has so many diverse reads. Black FMC, Native MMC and a deaf brother, who I cannot wait to read more about in book 2. That all being said Reese was so loving and caring that it only made sense for her to get that same love and care back with Chael. I really enjoyed how she could not automatically read his emotions and kept second guessing what was happening. I felt like that was very realistic for someone who has low self worth and or was struggling with that. I also enjoyed how Chael was very strong willed but compromised when it came to Reese. Tiffany Patterson is one of my go to authors. I enjoyed this read. Sera’s story would also a great book
I don't usually leave reviews, but this book was thoroughly disappointing. For a seer, Reese did not SEE anything, and Chael was no better. He did not communicate. I try to avoid books with the miscommunication trope, but I looked past that and continued because there was more to the story. However, at a certain point, Reese was too obtuse and Chael was not present. ~70% in and the couple barely had any time together? Then Reese walking into what was obviously a trap? Then she couldn't figure out that Sera couldn't shift? As a seer? I understand that there's likely a story there, but that was the point where I gave up. This book had potential, but after they moved to the commune, everything went downhill. I was disappointed because I know Ms. Patterson can write like nobody's business. It would've been better as a novella.

Tiffany can do no wrong! This book was the first PNR I have read by her and she did it oh so well. Reese and Chael were introduced in a previous book about the Townsend family. He smelled her and knew she was his mate. Their story is full of mystery, intrigue, and lack of communication. Not normally I hate when a simple conversation would solve all of their problems, but Tiffany wrote it so it made so much sense! It felt necessary even! It wasn’t a short read but it kept me so entertained that it felt like one. I don’t want to say to much more because I will spoil it for you but this is a great read for anyone who likes romance and/or paranormal. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It was an okay read. Very fast passes. It could be I’ve not given it four stars because I just came from a marathon of reading seven super smutty books, so this was extremely tame and came off not as captivating. I was in extreme anticipation to read about Chael, but it just didn’t give what I wanted it to give. I will be reading the obvious other stories that will follow from this one. Also, was it just me or the world wasn’t very built up? The description of the MC wild was never fleshed out. The supernatural storyline wasn’t substantial at all. Maybe because it’s her first dabble, but I hope more descriptors of the paranormal will be used in the future because it seems as though the author is going to dive into this world.
WOW another one to enjoy, this is a terrific read, with great characters, an entertaining storyline, and filled with drama, twists, suspense, and plenty of steam. There's a powerful combination of feelings and romance that will give fuel to your romance. I really enjoyed all of secondary characters and the family also amazing. The story will be a great start to a awesome series. Its beautiful and the romance is so worthy, and then when you add in their drama, along with their emotional up heavel and the intriguing twists they had to go through. This is a story that's such a delight." Plus the brothers characters makes you want to read their story. This is definitely a five star awesome story to read...
Chanel and Reese were destiny to become one . I wasn’t expecting to find out that the cousins of the townsends were shifters . I knew there was something special about when they appeared in other books briefly but never that .I was totally blinded as well to discover Reese powers as well .To learn of christpphe betrayal to his brothers and their pack .I can’t wait to read the next books in this series and to find out what chael and Reese have and if the baby will have both powers but hopefully the question of how Reese parents died and did the know of there daughter powers .Do yourself a favor and pick up this or any of Tiffany’s books you want regret it

Chosen is Chael Nightwolf and Reese's story. This is Book 1 of The Nightwolf Pack series and also an ARC review. Chosen gave me everything I needed action, suspense, romance, a great introduction to Chael Nightwolf, his pack, history and his centuries long hunt for his mate, Reese. When. Chael and his wolf scented Reese he had no idea that she was human. It didn't matter because they are each others destiny. Shifters and Human relationships were frowned upon by the Alliance. I love the supernatural bond they shared.❤️ To find out how Chael and Reese handled the Alliance and the evil Dr. read Chosen. I'm hook!!
