Suite Dreams: A Blue Collar Daddy/River Gorge Crossover

Rate this book
All bets are off when a wealthy silver fox meets a small town cowboy.

Raffie Mills has loved horses his whole life, and he loves his job at the Blue Bird Ranch training horses. Sure it would be easier for him to find the Daddy of his dreams if he lived somewhere other than the small West Texas town of River Gorge, but he can’t imagine living anywhere else.

But when he wins a trip to Las Vegas for a Daddy weekend from the Cuffd dating app he jumps at the chance to spend a weekend in a big city.

After losing his husband, widower Gabriel Johnson never thought he would be ready to love again, but when he takes a trip to Vegas to blow off some steam, he meets a boy who makes him rethink everything he thought he knew about what he wants.

Suite Dreams was sooo freakin good!! Raffie wins an all-expense trip on the Cuffd dating app for a Destination Daddies event in Vegas. Gabe is in Vegas when he learns of the event going on, he decides to stay and participate. When we first met Gabe in Cooper, I always hoped for his story! They were a great match, each willing to give and take and learn to adapt to a new lifestyle they were both interested in. They had a fantastic connection and steamy chemistry. Overall, a fantastic addition to The Destination Daddies, Blue Collar Daddies and River Gorge. I loved seeing Ripley especially, my all-time favorite character of the authors! Well written with great pacing!! Highly recommend.

Suite Dreams by Jacki James is part of the Destination Daddies series season 2. This book is about Gabe and Raffie. Ever since reading about Gabe in Cooper and Gavins story I was hoping he would get a story so I was really happy he got one. Gabe is a widower and decides to start living again. When he finds out about the Daddy/boy event in his hotel he decides to stay longer and participate. Raffie entered the Cuffd competition to win a holiday to Las Vegas but he never expected to win.

I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written. I loved seeing all the men from Blue Colar Daddies and River Gorge again!

This was a story of two lonely souls taking a chance on something different and finding both each other and a lifestyle that fits their needs. The story was OK, but very much followed a route leading to an expected HEA. There was nothing to make it stand out as very good or very bad. I was provided a copy of this book by the author, and am leaving this review that reflects my opinion of the book voluntarily

Suite Dreams by Jacki James is part of the Destination Daddies Season Two multi-authors series. This is the story of Raffie and Gabe. Raffie is a cowboy on the Bluebird Ranch in Texas. He has seen his friends on the ranch in Daddy/Boy relationships and wonders if he is a boy, too. Then he sees an ad for a contest from the Cuff’d App for a Daddy/Boy weekend in Vegas and he enters and wins! Gabe is 50 and has retired after selling his company for a lot of money. He also lost his husband 6 years ago and is lonely. He decides to take a trip to Vegas and while he is at the Bellagio he sees the Cuff’d weekend going on in one of the meeting rooms and since he has wanted to explore being a Daddy he signs up on the spot. At the mixer he sees Raffi and finds himself interested. Raffi also likes Gabe so they decide to take a chance and see if they could work together. Raffi has always been careful with his money so it is interesting for him when Gabe showers him gifts and experiences and he loves their time together. Gabe is also enamored with Raffi and enjoys being with him. When their weekend is over they go their separate ways but find themselves longing for each other. Gabe only lives 3 hours away from Raffi and finally calls him asking to come for the weekend. The story continues form there as they find themselves falling in love and not wanting to be apart. I always enjoy Ms. James’s stories and this one is no exception. I love how her characters seem realistic and sweet at the same time yet they have a little angst as they decide how they can be together. I also like how she ties characters from her previous books into the story (River Gorge and Blue Collar Daddies) so you already know those characters and their back stories as well as seeing how they help Raffie and Gabe. They also add some fun and excitement to what is happening. The different settings of Vegas, the ranch, and Austin also help to make the story interesting. All in all this book is a great addition to the series and I highly recommend it, especially if you like sweet Daddy/Boy stories. Jacki James doesn’t disappoint and I’m looking forward to reading more books from her.

What a fun and sweet story! Who wouldn’t want a daddy like Gabriel?!?!?!? I would!!!! Love how the story would start with the Cuffs event then go in different directions. This one took place in Las Vegas then would sprint to a small town in Texas! It was a wonderful read for me. Love these big city then small town feelings!

The story starts with Raffie, a cowboy who works for a ranch out of nowhere in Texas. He happened to find a link to a Cuffs event online and decided out of blue to enter the giveaway for a free entry. He was the lucky winner and chose to go to the one in Las Vegas. At the same time, this daddy, Gabriel was down there on a mini vacation and he saw that there was the daddy/boy event going on at the same hotel he was staying so he decided to extend his vacation and check it out. While checking the event out, he saw Raffie and decided to meet him. They clicked and decided to have the daddy/boy fun. Gabriel really spoiled Raffie by doing things together, buying stuff and taking him on a helicopter ride by Hoover Dam. Who wouldn’t want to be spoiled by that!!! When the event ended, did things between Raffie and Gabriel end? That’s for you to pick up the book and read to find out! 5 stars for me!!!

The first step is the hardest. Raffie loves training horses on the Blue Bird ranch. He knows the isolation prevents him from finding his Daddy, but he loves his horses. Rafie is feeling a little "off", not himself. He's never been outside the city or to any big city. He's encouraged to enter the contest from Cuffed for a destination vacation. Then he wins the Vegas weekend from the Cuffd dating app and he reaches out for his happy. Gabriel, is a widower who though love left him when Richard did. Rich has been gone 6 years and at 50, Gabe is feeling his lonliness. He heads to Vegas for some stress relief. Gabe is aware of the lifestyle after observing his friends. He wants to try to find out what kind of daddy he is and what kind of boy he wants. During the first night meet and greet, Raffie and Gabe realize the meat market is not the venue for them. Raffie sees hot daddie Gabe and walks up to the bar to sit next to him, connection made. They spend the week getting to know each other. What happens after Vegas? Will Gabe visit Raffie? Getting to know each other has never been more fun. Absolutely fun story, well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. Totally HOT cover art!

This is a wonderful no angst, sweet daddy/boy romance in this brilliant series. Jacki has actually brought two of her series together - The Men of River Gorge and Blue Collar Daddies - and has cowboy, Raffie, and retired business owner, Gabe, meet at the Las Vegas meet for Destination Daddies.
It's tentative between them for their first meeting but things quickly heat up and find how much they both like the lifestyle and each other. It's kind of a book of two halves with the first in Las Vegas and then the second having the two men dealing with distance, spending more time together and coming to understand how much they mean to each other. The two men are adorable together, falling into the roles they've only thought about before and, ultimately, changing their lives for the better. I loved getting characters from both series involved, especially Gavin, Gabe's nephew, and the guys from the Bluebird Ranch. They really bring that sense of family and belonging.
A great read that stands alone from the two series and fits perfectly with this one. Two men who are much deserving of their HEA.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Raffie Mills has loved horses his whole life, and he loves his job at the Blue Bird Ranch near River Gorge training horses. He just knows he needs to find the Daddy of his dreams but he can't imagine living elsewhere. When he wins a trip to Las Vegas for a Daddy weekend via Cuffd he jumps at the chance. Widower Gabriel Johnson never thought he would be ready to love again but when he takes a trip to Las Vegas to blow off some steam he meets a boy who makes him rethink everything about what he thought he knew about what he wants.

I loved this sweet story with the two men who had an immediate attraction. I loved the way that Gabe still sometimes talked to his dead husband and that his "advice" seemed to push him to be happy and start again. I loved the way that their relationship developed, that Gabe was determined to spoil Raffie in Vegas and that he couldn't stay away from him when they returned. I loved the way that it ended and that Raffie was mature enough to ensure that Gabe's late husband was still included in their lives via seasonal decorations. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This book is part of the Destination Daddies season 2 and it works as a complete standalone. The author points out that it does work as a crossover for two different series - the Blue Collar Daddies and River Gorge - but you don't have to be familiar with these books to appreciate this sweet romance or the secondary characters involved. Gabe and Raffie were such a cute couple together and clicked instantly. I liked how Gabriel wanted to spoil Raffie and treat him to experiences he'd never had before without coming across as too pushy or like a snob. There was absolutely zero angst throughout, nothing (other than a few weeks commuting) to cause any unhappiness between them and it was just cute, sweet and romantic from start to finish. There were steamy moments but these were surrounded by lots of wooing and romance too. If you are looking for a heart-warming, easy-to-read romance that will give you the HEA you want then this is definitely a book I'd recommend.

Suite Dreams is part of the multi-author Destination Daddies Season Two series. This was the sweetest story about Raffie and Gabe. Raffie won a trip to Vegas, thanks to the Cuffd Destinations, to see if he really did want to have a Daddy of his own like he saw with the relationship a couple of his friends had. Gabe was in Vegas on a little vacay when he saw the Cuffd event at a room in the hotel and thought he'd participate. Little did either of them know that this chance encounter would change their lives for the better. I would love more of Raffie and Gabe's story because the end is really just the beginning as they start their lives together. And more with Raffie and his new friends. I can see all the boys on the ranch getting into mischief. I love this series and each book I read just reminds me of how much I enjoy reading about the different destinations and the different daddies and boys finding each other and their happy endings. I definitely recommend this book and series.

Raffie and Gabe's story was a fun crossover between series, but I didn't connect with them as much as I wanted to. Any time I was trying to engage with these characters' thoughts, it felt like there was a wall between their true feelings and what was written on the page. I think the disconnect was more of a personal preference, since I like to feel what characters are going through instead of seeing it listed out plainly, but it did hamper my enjoyment of their story as a whole. Raffie and Gabe's Daddy/boy relationship was lighthearted and sweet--no bratty boys needing punishment or strict rules to follow--and their Vegas vacation seemed like a really amazing trip. I'm glad this story explored what happened after they went back home to their usual lives, and their HEA wrapped everything up nicely with a bow.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is a nice story about two men trying to see if they fit in a lifestyle over a weekend and realizing that they don’t want what they have found to end. Raffi may be a cowboy but he is a total sweetheart and a marshmallow on the inside who secretly wants what his friends have found. Gabe is a wealthy older man who realizes he hasn’t been living since his husband died several years before. Together these two are perfect. Gabe just wants to spoil Raffi and lavish him with gifts and love. He is a true caretaker at heart. Raffi has never had anyone care except for the people he works with at the ranch. Together these two are so good and definitely worth a read. No drama here. Just HEA. I admit that I am going to need to move a couple of this author’s books higher up on my TBR though!

I have been waiting for Uncle Gabe from Blue Collar Daddies to get a story! I was beyond excited to see he would get that story in this series! And what a clever bringing together of the River Gorge series with the Blue Collar Series! This can totally be read as a standalone romance, but I was super extra satisfied at the connection to all the guys from these series! I loved that Raffie was an independent strong young cowboy, but that Gabe could make him blush! These two just instantly clicked emotionally and communicated well! Such a perfect balance of sweet with high chemistry! Gabe made Raffie so happy with all of the things they did together for the wonderful experiences. It was good to see a boy who did not need or want to be spoiled get all the wonderful things he deserved! And seeing Gabe in love and happy was everything!

I have been itching for a story about Gabe since I read the first book in the Blue Collar Daddies series and I was so excited when I saw he was finally getting his own book!

I have read all of the Blue Collar series but haven’t really started on River Gorge yet and I have to say, it doesn’t really spoil the reading of this book at all. If anything, it makes me more intrigued to start on that series next!

I loved the relationship between the two men and how Raffie and Gabe were so open about everything. This was super low angst and really sweet which is definitely what you come to expect from the Destination Daddies series. This book was just amazing and I loved every minute of it. The two men are super sweet without being over the top and there is plenty of cuteness as well.

Gabe gets his man!

When Gabe and Raffie meet at a Cuffd Destinations event, sparks fly immediately. Although Gabe has never been a Daddy, and Raffie has never been a boy, they both want to experiment. One weekend in Vegas turns out to not be enough for them.

Thankfully, they don't live far from each other - but those few hours feel like forever. They begin a long-distance relationship.

I love the Destination Daddies series! This book is no exception. I do feel like the plot was a bit rushed. I know the Destination Daddies always have insta-love as their basis. But even given that, this story felt rushed. But I'm wondering if that lies more on the publishing schedule than on the part of the author.

What a cute story and it was a great crossover of Blue Collar Daddies and Men of River Gorge.

Raffie and Gabe are only looking to see if the Daddy/Boy life is for them, and have a fun Vegas experience. For Raffie this is a big deal. First time on a plane and travelling solo. It’s just meant to be a bit of fling. But love doesn’t follow the rules. The more time they spend together, the more time they want to spend together.

This wealthy retired businessman and the small town cowboy may seem like an unlikely pair, but the truth is, they are just the other needs.

Both men are really lovely people, and you will root for them to find happiness.

I would not have finished this if i hadn’t been reading it as an author review advanced copy. This story moved so fast there was barely any storyline to it. I don’t know if that is how this series is styled as I have not read any of the others prior to this one. There wasn’t enough talking or communication. I didn’t even feel as if it should of been considered a daddy/boy story, unless it was listed as super light daddy. I enjoyed the family feel of Rafael’s farm found family and perhaps would enjoy reading their previous stories. Overall if it had been a story I just picked up it would of been a DNF for not being what I expected.

I loved this book. It was the perfect blend of the Blue Collar Daddies and the Men of River Gorge series. Raffie is a boy who's never had a Daddy, but knows that he wants one. Gabe has lost his husband and has kind of been existing and not living. Watching his nephew find a Daddy sparked a want in he that he did know he had. Both men end up in Las Vegas at a Cuff'd event and the chemistry is there from the get-go. This was a sweet story of two men from Texas finding what they didn't realize was missing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and seeing characters from each series meld together. It was a wonderful book.

This was a terrific romance, with a lovable couple. Raffie was happy with his life, but he wasn't afraid to admit that love with a Daddy sounded appealing to him. Gabe was a natural caretaker, and he decided to try out the Daddy/boy lifestyle when he saw that Cuffd was holding a kink event in the hotel he was staying in. When these two met, they were instantly attracted, and a weekend together was not enough.
There are great secondary characters here, many of whom have been featured in their own books. It was enjoyable to see the interaction between all the friends and family, and it was satisfying to see Gabe and Raffie fall in love. Wonderful!

Gabe lost his spouse six years ago, and has been just exiting ever since. Raffie works at the Bluebird ranch as a horse trainer. Raffie wins a trip to Las Vegas through a dating app. Gabe decides a trip to Vegas would be the break he needs. Gabe and Raffie meet at a mixer, even though there is an age gap they seem to click. Gabe shows Raffie the sites of Vegas including a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon. Raffie coming from a poor background is totally amazed at everything they see and do. Gabe sold his company and retired at 50. This is a very beautiful love story where they both get what they want.

I enjoyed Gabe and Raffie's story. Great addition to the Season Two series. First time reader of Jacki James and I wasn't disappointed with her sweet and likable characters. Eventhough you can tell that there were characters from previous books/series, I didn't feel like I was missing out on any continuing plot...definitely a standalone...which was great. Love how Gabe and Raffie instantly connected in Vegas which continued on after to something much stronger. They had a wonderful HEA and I'm glad I took a chance in reading this delightful daddy/boy romance.

Gabe and Raffie…

Good read. I was first introduced to Gabe in Cooper and then in Gunnar he was mentioned again, so I wanted to read his story. I liked it well enough, but I just didn’t feel the chemistry between him and Raffie. It was like something was missing or it went to far. I never really get the Daddy/boy relationship, but this one felt even less natural because they started because both wanted to see if they’d enjoy the lifestyle. Anyway, there was a lack of connection for me…and this could use another round of edits. I liked the characters though so 2.5-3 stars for me.

This was so cute!

I am a massive fan of both the River Gorge series and the Blue Collar series so I was super excited to see this was a cross over! Gabe and Raffie are total sweethearts. I loved that they approached things carefully but openly; they didn’t jump right in but they knew that what they had was special so they were open to making something work. I loved getting to see all my favourite characters from both series again - there is such a lovely sense of found family with all these characters. I can’t wait for what’s next!

I loved Gabe from Cooper and Gavin’s book, and what an amazing way to revisit him - by bringing him into the Destination Daddies world! Jacki James is so skilled with this genre, she writes excellent Daddy/boy romance. I love Raffie and Gabe together, their dates during their Vegas vacation were swoony, steamy and romantic perfection. I also loved how characters from prior books made an appearance. Sweet couple, a very enjoyable low angst read.❤️

So much goodness in this story. Who isn’t looking for true love? Until you find it you’ll settle for right now but Raffie, not only wins a trip to Vegas, but he finds his true love there, too. Gabe and Raffie are delightful together, their daddy/boy relationship is so much fun. This story is swift moving but that in no way takes anything away from this love story. It simply allows the romance to be the main focus of the book and allows your affection for the characters to develop quickly and it doesn’t stop which makes their HeA so much better. This is Jacki James contribution to the second season of the Destination Daddies series! It's a wonderful addition to this series! This book is a cross-over from another series by Jacki James. (You should totally read that series too, it's an awesome one!) This story is about Raffie and Gabe and it's a lovely, sweet, and romantic story from the beginning until the end. i loved this adorable book and I can't wait to read the next story by Jacki James! Seeing the happy couples around them, both Raffie and Gabe are looking for their piece of happiness.
Raffie is looking for a Daddy of his own and Gabe his looking to explore his Daddy side.
When the Cuffd event presents itself, these two lonely souls who take a chance, were meant to be.

This is a relatively low angst read. The characters were well developed and story has some cute moments in it.
I enjoyed seeing past characters in this one and loved how this story tied in with the authors previous series. I was glad Uncle Gabe finally got his HEA.
