What if hell did not exist? And what if anyone could take on the role of the devil, meting out punishment for the wicked in a grotesque city of the damned? The team of Shaun Manning ( The Red King, Star Wars Adventures ) and Anna Wieszczyk (Image's Home, Godkiller ) explore the temptation to take divine power into human hands as a popular high school teacher and his star pupil wield damnation and forgiveness as weapons.
Shaun Manning is the creator and writer of Interesting Drug for BOOM! Studios’ Archaia imprint and Hell, Nebraska on Comixology. Next up is Macbeth: The Red King with Lucha Comics. His work has appeared in Dark Horse Presents, Top Shelf 2.0, Hope: New Orleans, and The Looking Glass Wars: Hatter M, as well as in several literary magazines, on stage, and on BBC Radio 4. Shaun took home first prize for a reading from his comedy novella Pizza Good Times in Edinburgh, Scotland; the trophy was a bottle of whiskey.
This is a decent story. It attempts to dive into ethics and morality. And abuse of power. I have it four stars for the potential the continuing story could see realized.
